HITMAN 2 Official PC Requirements

Warner Bros and IO Interactive have launched the official Steam store page for HITMAN 2, revealing its official PC requirements. According to the PC specs, PC gamers will need at least an Intel CPU Core i5-2500K or an AMD CPU Phenom II X4 940 with 8GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or an AMD Radeon HD 7870.

IO Interactive recommends an Intel CPU Core i7 3770 or an AMD CPU AMD FX-8350 with 8GB of RAM and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 or an AMD Radeon R9 290. The game will also require 60GB of free hard-disk space.

        1. 1 MB. Man, that takes me back about 3 decades. My first computer had 64KB RAM. Hence I chose 64K for my username.

          2. My first had 24 mb. It was in 1996. a 486 100 mhz and 14” 640×480 monitor. when did you bought your first computer?

          3. The Commodore 64 was the first computer that I owned. I got it around 1985. The first IBM that I owned was a used XT from the 80’s which I got in early 90’s. It had a 8086 CPU and 640 KB RAM with dual 5.25 floppy disk drives and no HDD at all iirc. It had CGA graphics capable of displaying 320X200 graphics from a choice of 16 colors.

            Man, we’ve come a long way since then!

          4. I am 30 years old so i havent used any of the first computers that were released in 1980 like that. But when i have seen trailers of such old games. They looked terrible! Now on my ryzen 1700 16 gb ddr4 3200mhz gtx 970 and 24” 2560×1440 60 hz ips monitor i have almost real life like graphics. But to think that it all begun with such terrible graphics like those 1980’s pc yes we have come long way!

          I think JOHN has banned him from DSOG, but this is just my guess.

          He even took the original “username” of the above Legit user to whom you just replied.

          5. That guy changed his Disqus username to Zatara’s personal stalker and copied his avatar pic to cause trouble. He saw the real person say that he was blocking him so he figured he wouldn’t get caught I guess. If the trouble maker is banned then you can probably expect he will make new Disqus accounts to continue. I have seen one troll create 30+ accounts in the span of 2 weeks on TPU to do this. The moderators IP banned him over and over but he knew enough to get past that.

            If you see someone acting like a troll that doesn’t normally do so then it’s probably him.

    2. I think the biggest Typo is the GPU performance gap… 1st the min… GTX 660 is slightly less powerful then a HD 7870 so I forgive them for that because they are pretty close….. However a R9 290 Crushes a GTX 770 for the Rec… I mean they might as well match up a R9 290 with a GTX 970.

      But then again it’s published by WB so yeah… They are in Nvidia’s pockets.

      1. Indeed. I’ve noticed that as well. That’s why I really don’t pay that much attention to any Game’s system requirements, because most of them are just generic in nature.

        1. Well most go off Vram specs as well which is so stupid.. Then closest in performance… R9 290 4 gig’s and 770 had 4 gig’s… But still the actual performance gap between both cards is insane.

          1. Yup. VRAM actually doesn’t make up for any performance. Some peeps think a 4GB VRAM GPU is much faster than a 2GB variant.

            But that’s not always the case.

            The CUDA Core count, Stream processors, ROPs, and Memory Bus width/bandwidth are going to be a detrimental factor for any card’s performance, among other specs.

            The extra VRAM just helps with performance on higher screen resolutions, along with AA and stuff like that. Some games do eat a lot of VRAM though, even on 1080p.

          2. Well the only problem is with them using the 770 for instance is stock mem was 2gig’s… Only custom AIB’s made 4 gig models just like they made the 780 have 6 gig’s. So if the game say needs 4 gig’s of vram at 1080P for instance.. Well anybody with a 2 gig 770 or 3 gig 780 / 780 Ti are going to be running into system memory stutters maxed out…

          4. Yup, I saw that firmware update before. Too bad I don’t have any of the upcoming ACER, or ASUS HDR 144hz GSYNC capable displays, or any other similar Monitor.

            But it’s nice to see Nvidia implement this firmware, which might help with HDR color accuracy., along with I think 10/12 bit per channel signal support.

        1. I don’t know honestly, feels like it might be episodic again, not that it bothers me that much, but i prefer a normal full game.

          1. How do you figure it’s episodic? There’s already a pre order on Steam for the full game at $59.99.

          2. I don’t, it’s just a feeling, looking at the steam page, where it says gold or silver pack, there’s “expansion 1 + expansion 2”

          3. That is post-release content, as in, ‘expansions’ that expand the base game.

            They wouldn’t charge 60 bucks if it were episodic, they make more money charging 15 bucks for each episode.

    There is one thing to observe, because these specs are exactly similar to the previous HITMAN title which got released in 2016.

    Check the STEAM’s page, both the min/recommended GPU and CPU specs are similar.

    So, the above info could also be a “placeholder”, or maybe someone made a mistake when entering the data. I won’t consider these specs FINAL, as of now.

    Assuming the Game would be using an enhanced, or a modified version of the previous “GLACIER engine”, I doubt the Devs are going to keep the specs exactly similar, unless they haven’t made any serious changes to the engine.

    They might as well, but only time will tell.

    1. I think they’ll make it appear like a fully featured game up front, to lure people like myself back into the fold. Then they’ll release content in pieces over time, effectively turning the game into a service.

      It’s pretty par the course for Hitman at this point.

      1. I say we should just wait and see, it’s weird that IO Interactive accepted WB as publisher, they could’ve accepted someone’s else offer if it was better, i don’t think IOI are the money chasers kind of devs, but only time will tell.

        1. With WB, I’m not so sure. Publishers don’t just hand you money for nothing. They have a contract deal and a list of demands that go with it.

            We don’t have any bad example of WB as videogame publisher as of now, right?
