Now here is a pleasant surprise. New Blood Interactive has announced that it will add real-time ray tracing effects to its Heretic-inspired retro FPS, AMID EVIL. Moreover, the team released the game’s first RTX screenshot that you can find below.
AMID EVIL is a medieval fantasy retro FPS that uses Unreal Engine 4. The game features non-linear levels filled with secrets and ancient lore, multitudes of in-game options and cheat codes for a truly golden PC age experience. Basically, is a game for old-school first-person shooter fans, and you should definitely check it out.
New Blood Interactive plans to release a demo for the RTX version of AMID EVIL. Unfortunately, though, there is no ETA yet on when this RTX demo will come out.
Still, you can find below the first screenshot from the ray traced version of AMID EVIL. This screenshot showcases some of the visual improvements that NVIDIA owners can expect from it.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

The problem with RTX (Microsoft’s DXR and Nvidia’s awful DLSS) is that it just doesn’t provide the performance even on the flagship cards.
