Here are the official PC requirements for Far Cry 5, GTX970/RX 290X for 1080p with 60fps on High

Ubisoft has just revealed the official PC requirements for Far Cry 5. According to the company, PC gamers will at least need an Intel Core i5-2400 or an AMD FX-6300 with 8GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 or an AMD R9 270.

For 60fps at 1080p on High settings, Ubisoft recommends an Intel Core i7-4770 or an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 with 16GB of RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 or AMD R9 290X. As such, those wishing to play the game at higher settings will need a more powerful GPU than the aforementioned.

Last but not least, for 4K at 30fps on High settings, Ubisoft suggests an Intel Core i7-6700 or an AMD Ryzen 5 1600X with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 or an AMD RX Vega 56. For 4K at 60fps on High/Ultra, Ubisoft suggests multi-GPU systems such as PC configurations featuring NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 in SLI or AMD RX Vega 56 in CFX.

  1. Nice detailed system requirements.
And pretty light well i guess because they still use the good old dunia engine(since far cry 2)

    1. The old Far Cry’s had “very high and “ultra” settings.

This is actually a bit high if you need a 970 to run it 1080p high.

  2. Well, it’s nice to see those PC specs listed, but how will the game actually ‘perform’ across various Hardware combinations, remains to be seen (once it is released).

IF it’s a good optimized game, then those specs should be okay, but if the game uses VMprotect and DENUVO drm, then this might also hamper the overall gaming experience, IMO.

I hope the game’s engine doesn’t put stress on the CPU core, apart from fully utilizing all the CPU cores, but again on 4K resolution the game’s going to be more GPU-bound, so I hope it plays well on ULTRA settings.

Can’t say the same for 1080p though. I’m worried about high CPU usage/cycles, and SSD performance.

I heard that the DEVs have downgraded the Graphics a bit as well ? Will the game benefit from more CPU cores, threads, and how will it scale on an SLI/Crossfire RIG, still remains to be seen.

    1. they are using sli/crossfire because they are partnered with amd that sh`tty company don’t even have a competitor for 1080ti lol

    2. IF it’s a good optimized game, then those specs should be okay, but if the game uses VMprotect and DENUVO drm, then this might also hamper the overall gaming experience, IMO. denuvo and VMprotect doesn’t affect performance and no your opinion doesn’t work there facts does

      1. “. denuvo and VMprotect doesn’t affect performance and no your opinion doesn’t work there facts does”

Facts point the opposite, but hey nothing affects perfomance apparently. This game looks like fc4 but requirements are insane.

  3. The graphics better be a big leap over Far Cry 4 and Primal to ask for more than a GTX 460 as the minimum requirement

    1. gtx 460 is 8 years old since it was rleeased in 2010. One of my friends had it until July and he was playing new gmaes at low settings 1080p 30 fps while my gtx 970 still runs evrything at max settings 1440p at 30+ fps. But on july it got burned and he got a gtx 1060 6gb and now he can run evrything maxed 1440p like me but because he decided to not get 1440p monitor he still runs 1080p but at least he runs max settigns 60 fps instead of low 30 fps that he did with the gtx 460.

  4. “an Intel Core i5-2400 or an AMD FX-6300 with 8GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 or an AMD R9 270.”

But it looks identical to fc4, how? Why? Ah let me guess, “bigger map” empty but “bigger”

      1. First of all far cry primal run better than fc4 and it had alot more trees, tall trees and more varied enviroments which means more textures. I dont think the map was identical as people claim, the layout was similar but thats about it.l

  5. Would like to know how well 1080 Ti will perform and more importantly, how well will the game support sli, will wait for benchmarks on ulta settings

  6. I really don’t get the jump in CPU requirements at 4K. The game is usually GPU bound and whilst there is more information being routed through the CPU and GPU, I cant say that I’ve ever really noticed any real difference in CPU usage in my setup between 1080p and 4k. I’m still rocking an i7 4790k with no issues alongside a gtx1080.

  7. MY RYZEN 1700 16 GBDDR4 3200MHZ GTX 970 will run 1440p 30+ fps then since 970 is recomend for 60 fps max settings 1080p so on 1440p it must be 30+
