Here are the first official details and screenshots for Hitman 3

IO Interactive has released the first official screenshots and details for Hitman 3. Hitman 3 is the dramatic conclusion to the World of Assassination trilogy, taking players around the world on a globetrotting adventure to sprawling sandbox locations, with Agent 47 returning for the most important contracts of his career.

Supported by his Agency handler, Diana Burnwood, Agent 47 joins forces with his long-lost friend Lucas Grey. Their ultimate mission is simple; eliminate the partners of Providence at all costs.

Mattias Engström, Game Director, said:

“HITMAN 3 has a much darker tone than the previous games in the trilogy. On top of the core Hitman experience, we are mixing in some surprise elements, an evocative atmosphere and a very real sense of closure.”

The game will feature six meticulously detailed locations packed full of creative opportunities. Moreover, Hitman 3 aims to give players the unrivalled freedom to complete their objectives in a game world that reacts to everything they do. Naturally, the game will be using the Glacier Engine, aiming to offer unparalleled player choice and replayability.

HITMAN 3 will also act as a platform for the entire trilogy. Thus, players will be able to import locations that they own from previous HITMAN games and play all 20+ locations from the trilogy in one place. HITMAN 2 players will also have the option to carry over their hard-earned unlocks and progression into HITMAN 3.

The entire HITMAN 3 campaign will be available to play at launch when the game releases in January 2021.

Enjoy!

  1. The entire HITMAN 3 campaign will be available to play at launch

hell yes! that’s what I wanted to know
phew.. no more episodic crap, I’m glad!

      1. but it was the leftover/unused assets and designs post SE which were meant to be used in yet another episodic Hitman

I personally find IO’s Hitman appalling as he’s been stripped of his prestige and instead has been turned into a Bond wanna-be

          1. depriving the player of the iconic suit and the gloves and hiding them behind ludicrous challenges (get 10 kills with bricks and hammers, etc) and instead giving him ridiculous outfits was not a wise move.
the animations were ridiculous and imprecise and they really broke the immersion, the sound effects were dull, there was also next to no music, he holds and handles his gun like an amateur. a weak storyline, constantly changing his age, looks and overall appearance time and again over the span of 3 games (absolution too) removed the emotional attachment the player felt to 47. NPC designs and animations are horrible as well. they even changed the seriousness of Diana’s tone. (look up Hitman 2 Miami trailer and also while at it, take a look at the woke flamingo costume!!!). in Absolution Hitman was trapped and locked up in such an idiotic way. his whole persona was built around the character of a professional assassin who can never be outsmarted, let alone get caught! they added sci-fi elements to absolution, they made Hitman 1 episodic, they reused the assets for Hitman 2 and now their approach continues with individual isolated missions that are only seemingly connected via bits of what is an already a weak story. should I continue?

ask anyone you like, and they will tell you no matter how good or bad they think the new Hitman might be, it is certainly lacking ‘that something’ special that made you feel empowered playing as Agent 47

          2. ah well I consider Hitman: Absolution and Hitman:World of Assasination, as completely different games.
I completely disagree on the npc design and animation. Anyone with eyes can see that those games are objectively good in terms of sheer npc animations. Seriously, entire towns are filled with NPCs doing random routines.
Also every level in Hitman2 is completely unique, so I don’t know about re-used assets.
I liked the story of World of Assasination and I’m interested to see how it ends. But that’s a subjective thing.
Also, what sci-fi elements are you talking about?

  2. This is one of those games that trully justifies its 150 gb hdd space, probably 200+ for hitman 3.

  3. Think they should just release these as expansions. Hitman 2 was basically the same game with 5? new maps. And i doubt this will be any different
