Halo 2: Anniversary is officially coming to the PC on May 12th

Microsoft and 343 Industries have announced that Halo 2: Anniversary is coming to the PC on May 12th. As with previous Halo games, Halo 2: Anniversary will be a part of the Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Halo 2: Anniversary will support 4K UHD resolutions and HDR. Moreover, it will support mouse and keyboard, will have proper on-screen indicators, and will have other native PC features. Naturally, this “remaster” will also have better textures and improved lighting effects.

You can go ahead and take a look at some PC screenshots in 4K/Max settings here. Similarly to Halo: Anniversary, we’ll share a mini-PC Performance Analysis for Halo 2: Anniversary.

  1. Oh, so the recent screenshots were the final look of the game? Bleh. Terrible. Halo 3 is now the only title I’m interested in and if they mess that up, too, I’m never buying it. Huge fan of Halo 1-3 btw.

    1. it looks perfectly fine for a game that was made over 10 years ago. graphics arent the only things that matter. You know who says graphics matter more than anything else? console fanboys, thats who.

      1. The problem is that the Remaster is full on remake released in 2014 for current-gen specs, not for a game released in 2010 (last-gen games). So it should really look better. Halo 4/5 better.

        1. Play on Legendary to see just how “balanced” and well made the game is.
Halo 2s campaign is a rushed f*king mess of linearity and boredom

  2. This piecemeal garbage release is such a colossal embarrassment for Microsoft, if Microsoft could ever be embarrassed. A single package Xbox One collection, released on PC over the course of years.

Well done, MS. We never wanted you to try “too” hard, you may hurt yourselves.

      1. You said one of the dumbest things ever seen on this site. It doesn’t even make sense.

Don’t start whining if people disagree.

    1. Over years? They released Reach in December, then Halo CE in March. Now Halo 2 in May. That’s only been 6 months. And the rest will come out even faster as they finish work on the previous ones.

      1. And your contribution? besides complaining like a bitc*? the anon has a point, this collection, the way they handle it, is an embarrasment…but it shouldn’t be a surprise coming from 343i: At this point people is glad to play this franchise with crappy releases but a decent framerate at least. Im personally waiting for all the releases and stupid bugs fixed…Halo is nobody’s priority if you are PC player.

    2. Why on earth would you need every single game all at once?
I see no problem with releasing them over time, especially if they’re taking their time and releasing them in good condition, which they have. We saw what happened last time when they dumped them all at once…It didn’t go well.

      1. Yep. It’s a smart strategy for 343 to take its time releasing each game and maintaining quality.

It’s a pretty terrible idea to want them to release all 6 games at once.

    3. The piecemeal garbage is bulls*it. Tbf they dont want to f*k up as bad as last time. But they could have at least make the games beta for people who bought the collection. Instead of this bullsh*t “flight” program.

Like its 2020, its really not complicated.

      1. No new nude mods news,John?its been a while since your last nude mods article…

  3. Will support HDR just like the first Halo supports HDR? Oh wait, it still doesn’t, which is why I have not played it… Lol
