GungHo Online Entertainment America announced today that the remastered version of Game Arts’ critically acclaimed JRPG Grandia II HD Edition for PC will be available for purchase on the digital distribution site GOG.com.
Based on the Sega Dreamcast version of the game, Grandia II HD Edition’s remaster features numerous improvements from the original — including a visual upgrade to HD graphics, original Japanese voice-acting, a new difficulty level, and gamepad support for a more nostalgic experience.
As part of today’s announcement, GOEA has released all-new screenshots from Grandia II HD Edition that can be viewed below.
UPDATE:
Bender/Helper Impact got in touch with us and told us that Grandia II HD Edition will be also coming to Steam!

No steam, no buy, sorry!
Really? Then unfortunatelly I won’t be buying this game. Not that I dislike GOG, much on the contrary. But I don’t have an international credit card and unlike Steam/Origin/Uplay, GOG doesn’t support my currency yet.
same thing here. i don’t get this, why not put it on both stores?
Paypal?
The currency enchange rates are too high. I’d have to pay 3-4 times more than I would on Steam.
Very annoying. Which country is this?
Brazil.
hue
And it doesn’t say exclusively… it may still be coming to steam in the future.
I’ll make a copy&paste of the title:
Grandia II HD Edition Coming Exclusively To GOG
Yea, sorry, my mistake….
oh, well, another websites are saiying Grandia II HD will be coming to Steam and GoG this year so maybe you are right
it won’t make sense to make this GoG exclusive. everybody knows Steam has higher sales even though old games have better chances on GoG but still.

Why they changed the platform?
HD collection? Looks very much like the game I had on my Sega Dreamcast.
man we can’t go back to that now…We can’t unsee what we’ve already seen in the past 15 years. 🙁
GOG needs to sell gift cards otherwise i can’t buy s**t from them
One of my old time favorite RPGs! That is great news! Although I’ve finished it a couple of years ago if I remember correctly on my Demul but I won’t miss the change of this HD release. Good news that PC gamers receive exclusive treats from the True Gaming Era.
The latest press release stated GOG as an exclusive digital seller. Whether this will change in the future remains to be seen.
Grandia II HD Edition will be also coming to Steam
Seems a bit cheeky calling it an HD edition when there doesn’t seem to be any kind of graphical upgrade and no widescreen support. The old game supports whatever 4:3 resolution you throw at it anyway.
Hell, I’m not complaining about a digital re-release of one of my favourite JRPGs ever, but just call it Grandia II dammit.
For all this business of a DreamCast based port to PC becoming a thing, I eagerly await the day that a certain….. SEGAAAA!!!…. drops the Skies of Arcadia bomb onto PC.
Nice. But these screenshots are not from the HD release, right? They are 4:3 for Christ’s sake.
the story wen’t off the rails at the end but some of the best and most fun combat. i am glad it is being restored.
