Grand Theft Auto V Still Scheduled For A January 27th Release On The PC

Two weeks ago, Rockstar claimed that the PC requirements for GTA V would be – hopefully – released before the end of 2014. Well, it’s January 2015 and there is still no word about them. Not only that, but Valve has not even set a specific release date for Rockstar’s title on Steam. As a result of these two things, a lot of gamers wondered whether GTA V PC has been – secretly – pushed back to February or even March. Thankfully, Rockstar re-assured gamers that the game is still set for a January 27th release on the PC.

As Rockstar’s “Scott E” said when a fan asked about a possible delay of GTA V PC:

“GTAV will be coming to PC on January 27th. We have not announced any changes to this date at this time.”

Scott was clever enough to add that last sentence, suggesting that a delay may still occur. Still, the official word at this point is that GTA V is coming to the PC on January 27th.

There is still no word about the game’s PC requirements.

Last but not least, major online retailers (like Best Buy) have reported that the PC version of GTA V is still on scheduled for its January 27th release.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. i dont like this, it too quiet, still no sys requirements that we were promised 2 weeks ago, lets hope R* does not mess it up somehow..

      1. Surprisingly enough, WCCFTECH did not do its homework this time around (they are usually spot on, so I don’t know how they fell for it). These specs are from Game-Debate (Game-Debate has a lot of rumored/fake/estimated PC specs for almost all unreleased games)

        1. WCCFTECH hardly ever do their own homework, they look over the shoulders of every other gaming/tech website, copy & paste.

      1. I liked them before GTA V but after I played the online after 2 month with that broken a*s launch then every 2 weeks they made a patch to F*ck up the economy and fix every little money glitches to force everyone to buy their shark card (Microtransaction) one time they even cleaned everyone’s bank to “make everyone equal and fair”, yeah that was the time I said im done with this game Rockstar altogether lol

      2. If it was only for GTA IV: Got some coin past week and bought the GTA pack (GTA III, VC, SA and IV) my conclusion is: Yes, R* hate PC gamers. Thankfully “we” have people fixing stuff, because goodness gracious, what bunch of awful ports!

      3. I didnt love them for Max Payne 3, it might be greatly optimized, but is still a horrible game and cancerous Max Payne, it totally killed it

        1. Yup, dan houser writing is awful, max wants to kill himeslf all the time, noire is about a dark world filled with corruption not a depressed cynical main character. The level design and the cutscenes are damaging the gameplay, the old max payne games had large rooms so you could shootdodge, in max payne 3 you end up bumping into things and after the final enemy dies the game throws a cutscene in you interrupting the flow of gameplay and killing the down time. It has high production values but the game is awfully paced with way too many cutscenes that unequip your weapon and equip another one. Platforming is gone and the inventory system is trash. Reviews praised the game for not having cutscenes but you cant skip the cutscenes that pop up every 48 seconds or so, so that makes max payne 3 the game with the most loading screens ever.

          1. He wasn’t depressed – he was just drunk. You need to play the game while drinking then it makes total sense. But your other points were spot-on!

          2. Seeing Max saying “fuq” in between 3 seconds like trying to be badass was painful, it really was, i dropped a tear.

    1. I think that’s because they used to think that we’re all pirates and of course who could forget the hot coffee mod. That mod was really really bad for them.

    2. First let’s see how well the game gonna be ported then we can talk about emotional relation to the platform^^

  2. I’ve been patiently waiting all this time to play the definitive version of GTA V, but If Rockstar delay the PC launch again I won’t buy the game on release day anymore.

  3. That response made me laugh a bit.

It sounds like: “Yeah, technically, it’s still coming out in January since we haven’t yet announced that we’re delaying it again, but stay tuned for that. lol” All that’s missing is a trollface.jpg

    Nah, I’m kidding. I’m sure it’ll come in Jan…maybe. 😉

  4. We’ll see, the guys taking care of the port are the same people that ported Max Payne 3 to PC, and that was very well optimized. I know MP3 is not open world but still.

  5. We have not announced any changes to this date at this time??? Probably they are going to announce that the game is delayed!!!!

  6. I bet it will be delayed. There have been plenty of times developers said “we’re still on track” only to delay the game even a week before it was scheduled to come out.

  7. im happy modding my gta 4

    totally off topic.

I bought lords of the fallen 2 days ago on sale. But I have a very
noticeable ghosting in this game when running a 2 way sli of evga sc
    780. Non ti.
when I disable sli all works fine and I have no ghosting.
No matter the resolution. From 1080p to 4k. The ghosting in sli is present.
This happens on my 120hz monitor and on my lg, 60hz, tv.
    Os: win 7 64 bits
    12 gb ram
    i7 920 4.1 ghz
evga gtx 780 sc non acx 2 way sli

    1. Then do not play with SLI^^
SLI is quite old and even newer XDMA didn’t fix all the issues with multi-graphics systems. MANTLE did though (75% delay/ stutter reduction) so hopefully DX12 will offer same feature and SLI/Xfire might finally get worthy to serious playing.

  9. Rockstar has an EXCELLENT Marketing Team! They found out different (and unique) ways to get the fans attention… announce something then get quiet until rumors start flowing around on web sites.

They have been doing this since GTA 5 (pre-gtaV)

  10. system requirements aren’t important anymore, i bet it will be GTX 780 with 4GB vram and 8GB ram and a latest i7 CPU, just like any terrible AAA games past year. lets hope it’s well optimized instead of waiting for some exaggerated system requirements.

and by the way, it’s rockstar. they don’t go ubisoft for marketing and they don’t release a new trailer every day or bunch of useless interviews every week, they just announce a game, show two to four trailers and then they release it.

      1. last night i was checking Assetto Corsa’s page on steam and i saw it’s recommended specs, on GPU side it says it needs GTX 970 or R9 290x. i’m playing this game on ultra settings always at 60fps with a 660ti with 4x MSAA or i could lower reflection quality and still constant 60fps but in 1400p (DSR). opposite of this on Assassin’s Creed games 😀

most if not all of the requirements are total BS.

  11. Yeah this again….. seriously we’re 24 days away from release and there is doubt around it, honestly Rockstar has been slapping the 27th on most of their promotional art so to change it isn’t a big issue , just it is a little stupid

I pre ordered my copy again, I do not want to cancel it for a second time, but honestly I feel it’ll release the 27th, then finally there will be peace in the land….unless it’s buddy but I have faith

  12. I think it’s safe to say F’ You Rockstar and F’ You very much for at least giving us hope that it will come on PC after 2 or could be 3 or maybe before when GTA VI will be released for PS4 and XBOX ONE!

  13. It will be delayed. They’re not allowed to talk about delays – only the marketing department can do that, hence that second sentence.

And besides, they would known what kind of computers can play the game by now – it’s not a good sign that they can’t/ won’t tell us.

  14. If delayed so be it.
But…delayed and they give us an sh**ty port or worst optimization after sooo many delayed months, then…what they need from us? middle or our back body to show? 😀

and ofc no money from our pockets!

So PC gamers still have hopes and R* better do good job with this overapreciated game.
