During its Ray Tracing Technology Deep Dive video, Intel confirmed that Gotham Knights will have ray tracing effects on PC. According to Tom Petersen, PC gamers can expect enhanced reflections and soft shadows.
Furthermore, Gotham Knights will support Intel’s AI-upscaling tech, XeSS. However, there is no word yet on whether the game will also support NVIDIA’s DLSS or AMD’s FSR 2.0.
Gotham Knights will feature an all-new original story where an expansive, criminal underworld has swept through the streets of Gotham City. Players will take control of the Batman Family. This means that you can play as Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin. From solving mysteries that connect the darkest chapters in the city’s history to defeating notorious villains in epic confrontations, players will confront an array of challenges as they evolve into their own version of the Dark Knight.
According to Warner Bros, the game will be only coming to current-gen platforms, and won’t have microtransactions.
Gotham Knights will release on October 21st. You can also find Intel’s Ray Tracing Technology Deep Dive video here.

raytracing is revolutionizing graphics by putting puddles of water that look mirrors everywhere
And yet it still looks worse than arkham knight
How is that even possible. They found a way that’s for sure.
Rocksteady is just that amazing, I guess. Arkham Knight aged marvelously.
God I hate this Fuqing Raytard BS! Leave it to Nvidia to always come up with some BS to push in every game. Let’s tank some FPS. Que the incoming hordes of dummies defending the BS shovelware that will be abandoned soon.
It’s an option in the settings menu that is off by default. Quit the drama.
The dude dont know WTF he are talking about!
How stupid can one get!
RT is the best thing happen as we all know the holy grail, and thanks to nVidia, that Finaly got the ball roling!
RT has been redundant at best and restarted at worst in every single implemention we’ve seen so far. Control looks good but only because it looks like bland sh*t without it, it’s a demo basically made to showcase RT. It tanks performance every time by 30-50% for graphical improvements you will see occasionally and which can still be substituted by cheaper alternatives in 9/10 cases. RT is not ready, and it won’t be until Triple A games can do Minecraft/Quake path tracing without running at 1 fps.
Oh no, you mad that I hate something you like? Motion Blur can be turned off but I still don’t Fuqing like it being there PERIOD! That’s my opinion and if you don’t like it keep moving. Take your own advice and don’t respond or care for every comment. Quit The Fuqing Drama. Y’all never ever take your own advice. Can’t come across a comment you don’t like without responding can you?..
I absolutely love Ray Tracing, when i was 16 y.o in highschool (2013) i used to watch those Brigade 3 path tracing videos like a maniac, i’ve been obsessed with this tech for a long time.
I understand where you’re coming from, when RT is only added as an afterthought for marketing purposes it leads to the breaking of the artistic intent, games like BF5 and Watch Dogs Legion really only had RT as an afterthought so despite the tech being superior, the actual game doesn’t actually look prettier, it just looks different (albeit, objectively superior, because that is the nature of Rays paths vs rasterize) , but you also can’t stop tech improvements just because you dont like them, im sure cases like yours were made against Parallax Oclusion Mapping in Crysis 1 in 2007 , and many more features that were first implemented in Crysis 1, yet in the end, Crysis was right and it looked ahead of its time.
Metro Exodus came out in 2019 and the lighting on that game makes every other 2019 game look like a ps3 game (except for control maybe).
Ray Tracing when done right is amazing, if you dont like the fact that there is an option you cant turn on then that sucks, but it doesnt make the game worse.
>Brigade 3
Man, that takes me back.
Fair enough, I still don’t like it because I know what propper RT is and what it takes to run it. And this stuff ain’t it, even metro Exodus is a bad example because it’s still not proper RT, it ruined the atmosphere of the game. Proper RT takes thousands of dollars to run and this stuff that implementing in games are pure gimmick. But I admire the fact that you actually wanted this stuff for quite sometime, but my fear is that they will implement only RT and there goes all those FPS we worked so hard towards over the years. I’m not interested in playing less to than 120 Hz.
Frankly, im not interested in high refresh rate for AAA gaming.
Im a cs veteran, been playing cs since i was a kid, now i’ve been with GO since 2014, im using a CRT monitor (Samsung Syncmaster 997MB) 0ms input lag, 165hz at 480p , i used to run the game at 300fps in my older system.
I know what high refresh rate is, and low input lag is a bliss.
AAA Titles are CASUAL games, with low skill ceillings made to have fun, i dont want 120hz there? they’d have to work in the animations and other stuff that wouldn’t make the game better, i much MUCH prefer higher fidelity for a singleplayer AAA game in which all i care about is the story and environment, im know you can agree with me on this, if you’ve gotten used to 120hz 1% lows, im guessing you’re into Quake? Unreal Tournament? CSGO? Valorant? or is it just apex? i seriously hope you didn’t mean you want and need 120hz for Shadow of the Tomb Raider or some sh*t lol….AAA gaming is moving toward being not realistic, but reality-grounded, having weight to your character, clearly wanting you to use analogic inputs, expect more games to feel like GTA 4, RDR2 and TLoU in movement, that’s not what +120hz is for, to me, 120hz is meant for peak accuracy inputs, with WIRED top tier mice with world class sensors on elite level mousepads, low dpi, high polling rate, each single milimeter on your screen must be an intentional input, this is the polar opposite of what AAA gaming is.
Why would i want fkn Uncharted 4 to move like CSGO? it will be garbage at it, that’s not what Uncharted 4 is for, so no…i would prefer 60 or even 30fps with Ray Paths over 120hz with last gen aesthetic, what am i gonna enjoy more with 120hz on Uncharted??? the magnificent health regeneration, no recoil on guns and much more sluggish movement compared to csgo? which i play at 165hz?
GTFO you moron!
We all KNOW RT is the Holy Grail. So stop that BS!
Go tell the Metro devs – that are going full RT ONLY from now on, and the rest of the devs in the world about it beying shovelware!
Are you for real..What an IDIOT!
Bro, take your pills, please. If not, then just join the 51% suicide squad.
Please bring a toaster with you in the bath next time. I’m looking to thin the herd of your kind. You said nothing constructive, just pure vitriolic garbage.
And bla bla more BS!
All you say is wrong. Everyone knows the monkey, but he knows None – Nothing – you know buddy!
Take your POS for brain and just begone will ya!
R**ard alert
Yeah what a F*king looser!
RT is the holy grail, and thanks to nVidia, as they kickstarted it – we Now finaly have it in games!
Tell that Chalice R**ard, to say to the Metro devs, that RT is shovelware and will be abandoned (they will go 100 percent RT only from now on – FINALY) – tell that to all the devs, as All devs are going for it!
Is this dude really that retarded, or just a dumb frigging Troll!
Idiot, Metro RT ruined the atmosphere of the game. Haha, one game is all you have to offer and a bad implementation at that. Dude go fuq a goat and stop taking to me.
The only case where i saw ray traycing making a difference was some scenes and places in Cyberpunk, like that part where you enter in the Car with a Fat Gangster. (haven’t played the game, its trash)
Anyway, without RT looks dull. Much better with RT. But yeah, just in some specific cases. It will be nice when any 100$ GPU run it without problem, but its definitely not worth right now.
I agree with your assessment but the problem is a 100 dollar GPU will never be able to run RT or a VERY expensive one. Because it actually rants 50k dollars worth of hardware to run that stuff the way it should and big this Nvidia gimmick. I wish the people that’s getting angry at the Anti-RT crowd would get this through their heads. And because Nvidia is involved it will never be something great for everyone, it will be in the pile of all their rubbing before. That’s the point I’m trying to make here. Which is sad because phyzx was suppose to be this awesome tech and we all saw that happened there.
But will people play it?
Why are we missing RT AO and GI? Perhaps Intel is not so good with RT after all.
Always appreciate FSR2.0 support, that thing is really fckn good! And I’m an Nvidia user still using GTX.
DLSS is almost 4 years old. It’s time you upgraded.
Older GPUs can still do 1080p60 in anything. Add FSR 2.0 on Quality for 900p upscaling and performance becomes even better. You don’t need to update all that often.
raytracing is revolutionizing graphics by putting puddles of water that look like mirrors everywhere
lmfao
true
Remember the last Batman game Nvidia put all that gameworks in on PC and made you think you needed to buy a 980 TI LOL and the game turned out to be called the worst PC Port in videogame history? Yeah I remember it was so bad that newegg with my GTX graphics card purchase gave me a free copy of Metal Gear Phantom Pain cause Arkham Knight was so bad.
But but but… According to one dude in here RT is the holy grail. These idiots don’t understand how upselling works.
it’s much more than puddles, but you need to have an above 80 IQ to understand why RTX is revolutionary. why do you think AMD is trying to catch up?
yeah AMD cultist, it was totally Nvidias fault that Batman devs can’t code. Do you cultists even think when you type?
Watch as this game’s raytracing settings look worse than Arkham Knight’s baked ones.
