Yesterday, Sony and Arrowhead upset a lot of PC gamers when they announced that Helldivers 2 will soon require a PSN account on Steam. And, another game that has listed a PSN account as a requirement on Steam is Ghost of Tsushima. However, Sucker Punch has confirmed that you will be able to play its single-player campaign without one.
Sucker Punch claimed that a PSN account is required only for Legends online multiplayer mode and to use PlayStation overlay. For those who want to experience its single-player campaign, they won’t have to create one.
Thank you for your feedback.
Just so you are aware, A PSN account is required for Legends online multiplayer mode and to use PlayStation overlay. It is not required to play the singleplayer game.

This is great news. After what happened with Helldivers 2, a lot of PC gamers were expecting Sony to force PSN on Ghost of Tsushima too. From the looks of it, though, that won’t be the case.
Ghost of Tsushima will be coming to PC on May 16th. The team that will handle this PC port will be none other than Nixxes.
Last month, Nixxes shared the game’s official PC system requirements. So, go ahead and check them out. Moreover, the team confirmed that it will support DLSS 3 and FSR 3.0 at launch.
Nixxes was also the team behind the amazing PC port of Horizon: Forbidden West. I’ve been playing this game lately and I can tell you that it’s one of the best PC ports that Nixxes has offered. So, I’m really optimistic about Ghost of Tsushima.
Stay tuned for more!

Developers of Arrowhead (Helldivers 2) are coming out and flat out saying this is 101% Sony forcing developers to implement PSN login, against the will of the developers.
Arrowhead: “This is Sony’s decison. Not ours.”
This is pissing off so many people and Arrowhead developers are visibly upset they chose Sony as a publisher.

Console fanboy 🤡
well screw that person for even giving them that idea…glad the SP wont require a PSN account sign in at least.
Most games will eventually be forced to either add Denuvo or force an online DRM connection.
Piracy on PC is exploding.
The reddit piracy sub has millions of followers, it is one of the biggest and fastest growing subs on reddit.
According to Torrentfreak, Fitgirl has “tens of millions of visits” each month. The site regularly appears in the top 100 most-visted sites in some countries.
It’s no longer a question if developers are losing money due to piracy, but how much.
Oh yes the classic case of “every pirated copy is a lost sale”. Also, citation needed on (Piracy on PC is exploding).
Makes you wonder how that could be true since Denuvo ganes in the last couple of years have been mostly unracked, yet games sales stayed basically in the same ball park. If what you said was truth shouldn’t PC sales have increased by a large margin ?
Also a piracy sub having million of subs means nothing, Steam has 50M unique users, does that mean that every uncracked game has to sell in the tens of millions of copies on PC ? No, because things aren’t that simple.
Torrentfreak:
Yeah, but that still doesn’t mean lost sales. You assume that people who pirate the game would’ve bought it if there was no way around it, but that’s simply hard to prove.
Also, Shout out to FitGirl, who makes me pirate games I already bought, like the Legendary Edition of Mass Effect. Her releases allow me to play a single title, instead of having to download the entire trilogy.
Developers are simply going to see millions of people visiting that site, and draw their conclusions.
And the conclusions will increasingly be the same conclusions as Capcom has made, bolt the game down with DRM. Dragon’s Dogma II using Denuvo is uncrackable.

i go to fitgirl site every day, but not to pirate, but to see what new games have come out, i also sub to a channel called steam releases to see what new games release on steam, i fight easier to use those sites than steam browsing lists and mainstream media sites with articles that give you cancer.

the conclusion devs have come to is to make games as as service games because they are not piratable. 95% of studios want to make games as a service, i am not interested in them at all, if you r game is games as as service its a grindfest repettive borefest that one day will be taken offline or altered completely, till this day play old games with mods.
“sure but you are not everyone” true most people are tired of games as a service, you got your hits here and there like helldivers 2, by the way look at what people get for buying that game now with psn, but overall people are tired of games as a service, too many studios are making them, they require too much time to play and too much dedication and they are all the same, this is why so many games as a service flop recently. Capcom removes denuvo after a year or so, last capcom game i played was…resident evil 2 i guess.
yeah fg is likely a team of repackers instead of one person, and the more they repack the more donations they get which is likely sizable per month as a percentage of millions of downloaders. FG doesn’t do anything but repack already cracked games or those w no drm in some cases.
exactly we know have proof that denuvo does not increase sales, people are more likely to not buy a denuvo game than buy it.
“Piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem.” – Gabe Newell, 2011
According to Ubisoft, and more recently Sony, buying their product does not mean ownership.
Taking this statement to a logical conclusion means, simply taking such product is not stealing, as former cannot exist without the latter.

none of these people would buy a 70 bucks game thats unfinished and even when “fixed” and the shills made the videos “cyberpunk 2077 is good now” or “starfield keeps getting better” would ever buy the game, because there are infinite identical older games to buy on steam. I am not saying that piracy does nothing, i am telling you that steam providing so many games to play at lower prices, the broken state of identical same derivative games that have oversaturated the market is much more of a problem than piracy.
pc piracy has been big for over a decade now it’s just the gui style fancy websites like fg’s that make it pretty easy vs older repackers etc. But nah i don’t think the some lost sales there is enough to make any difference vs. people who would never have bought these overpriced bugfest rentals called games. There are plenty of quality games that don’t use denuvo so who cares about denuvo games or login games for sp, even there there’s emus and such for intrusive unnecessary logins for sp games. Unlikely all of the devs pubs would want to pay denuvo or force logins but it’s their choice, they and their greed and laziness are shooting themselves in the foot imo. Young kids are fickle and used to roblox etc F2P games don’t have the patience for games like RDR2 etc nor the bloated hardware cost those need going forward. Effem. Have hundreds of games backed up of all types NOW, they can keep their tripe.
The gaming community is very weird.
We love games but we hate the people making them and we uproar if they try to make money out of their work which we enjoy.
The more we love a game, the worst we attack its developers.
Seriously if these people knew how much is costs to run the servers of Helldivers they would understand why the devs had to ask Sony for hosting them.
excuse me, we dont love games, games now suck and like i said to the other guy “hi fi rush was a huge success that exceeded expectasions” less than a year later, microsoft shuts down the studio, the game is uncracked with denuvo, so they are lying.
You just proved my point. You are in a gaming community, which by definition means a community of people that like video-games and you claim “games now suck”.
If they suck, what are you doing here? Spend your time on another hobby that does not suck (according to you)
everyone agrees that the industry sucks now and its on a free fall, you are just in denial out of spite, i even pointed out that they are lying about these games selling and you still in denial, stop being so in denial and admit i am right.
there are plenty of great games comming out recently. You are just fixating on the drama instead of using your time playing them
go on tell me how many great games you got.
persona 3 reload
persona 5
helldivers 2
baldur’s gate 3
elden ring
cyberpunk phantom liberty
palworld
resident evil remakes
hogwards legacy
jedi survivor
atomic heart
remnant 2
just pick one and play instead of crying about how awfull gaming is.
so sick of crybabies like you
mate when you start with a punch of ps2 games, you know you are wrong, also stop simping for cyberpuk, its not good, the problems with that game isnt that it was broken on launch, it was that it was not a good rpg and had a crappy story. I tried atomic heart, the writing is trash, the combat is broken and its one giant chore fest. In the same way cyberpunk 2077 is a crappy gta looter shooters and not new vegas of witcher 3 with guns, atomic hart is no system shock or prey, its a repetitive meele smasher game with trash writing and combat and repetitive level design, it was ok at best, sucked at worst. Also wtf “resident evil remakes” suppose to mean? Doesnt that prove my point that they have to remake old games because new ones suck? I dont care about harry potter, the game is a generic casual open world game like any other but its harry potter so the fans bought it. On palworld, not much of a pokemon fan, never finished a single one of those games, but this is worse, its another crafting survival game but with a pokemon gimmick. The company never finished the last game they made, its still in early access. I dont like souls games and open world games have gotten tiresome, the idea of a open world souls game is a meh to me, might as well bring lies of P here. I d rather play armored core. I got remnant on epic store but neve played it, i am just not into coop games, which is why i dont play helldivers 2, its such a grind “somehow the bugs are back” why do i even bother then? Also games as a service. I dont know if it s good or not, i guess people like it. When it comes to baldurs gate 3, i suppose its a good game because is an actual rpg that you can kill everyone unlike starfield and has tons of choices unlike starfield, but i could not ever get into the first game, it was so boring and combat sucks and i dont like how disgusting baldurs gate 3 characters look and i also dont like medieval fantasy games so cyberpunk and starfield sucking was harsh on me. Still i agree that jedi survivor if you exclude the poncho customization crap and some reddit tier goofy dialogue like the droids trying to be funny or the janitor, its a really good game. You can go ahead and add robocop there and turbo overkill or everspace 2, but that doesnt change the fact gaming is a mess right now, kill the justice league was trash, bethesda shut down 2 studios, need for speed is dead, the last battlefield game sucked, so did the last call of duty, ubisoft games suck now and the new star wars game looks so bad, come on, most of the games in this list are either old or from japan or AA games, the fact you bring a cyberpunk a game from year ago that was a broken mess back then but now its polished but the game is still meh, proves the industry sucks.
Gaming is awful now, i am so sick of consoomers like you who never complain about anything and eat it all up and ask for more.
case and point “hi fi rush was a huge success that exceeded expectasions” less than a year later, microsoft shuts down the studio, the game is uncracked with denuvo, so they are lying.
The fact non denuvo games sell and denuvo games dont proves there is no connection there.
that damiani pr*ck can choke on a d*ck.
That looks like the same person that’s been spamming the Steam message boards with the exact same message. He posted the same message on the HFW Steam forum
It is just a matter of time before Sony requires you to sign up to PSN to play their games. Just like with Helldivers 2.
I never really understood why Sony was on PC. Yes, they make some money on PC, but Sony’s leaked documents show they don’t actually make a lot of money on PC.
But now it is starting to make sense. Those same leaked documents mentioned a “PlayStation PC launcher”. Sony wants to launch their own store on PC, and lock their exclusives behind their store. I don’t think Sony is happy with Steam taking 30%.
Getting people to sign up to something is the biggest barrier. But if you first get people hooked on a game, then it’s a lot easier to get people to sign up to PSN on PC to continue playing. Sony is doing it under the guise of “security”, but it is clear this is the first step in a bigger plan.
Both Sony and Microsoft see the writing on the wall. Consoles are dinosaurs, gaming headed to the cloud. They are both trying to position themselves in a console-agnostic environment which currently is represented by PC gaming. But both companies are very well aware that PC gaming has almost no growth potential.
However if I can eventually load some cloud gaming app on my smartphone and stream it to my TV/computer monitor, that’s enough.
Remember that *ALL* videogames are authored on PCs so doing a PC port isn’t a major stretch at all.
Sony and Microsoft’s foray into PC gaming is temporary and will likely be short lived. Being on PC isn’t a destination for them. It’s simply a means to an end that lies elsewhere.
Are you that n*gger who used to come here and shill for xbox? You seem to have a very low IQ.
Yeah probably that ret**ded fa**ot n*gger!
Damn, you don’t need to go that hard
Sometimes one Do buddy 😉
The only nagger here is you
You’re still mad at me for saying people don’t like Pakis like you.
Whatever, just stop nagging
I’ll stop nagging as soon as you stop nigging.
People have been claiming that gaming is going to the cloud for years and years. Meanwhile one cloud gaming service after another goes bust.
There are no plans to discontinue R&D for consumer video cards and there are no plans to end future console generations.
GTFO you re**rded piss ant!!
Pc growth is Unstoppable!
Back to your streaming trash will ya, and as said – Get The F*k Out of here Re**rd!!
LOL, PC gaming is the fastest growing market segment besides mobile gaming.
The console market is the stagnant one, just ask Microsoft’s Xbox division.
And with the recent rise of PC handhelds, PC gaming is going to whole new places, literally.
For example, Valve sent Sony a Steam Deck pre-release, which was even shared publicly by them:
https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/16cb72948016d6aaacfd0fc91147cbaa7d5036aa8bd3e1ebd48d14d40b6b10da.png
Internally, Sony is probably referring to the Steam Deck as the PSP 3 they wish they were able to make…
Naaa, to weak for a psp3. More like a switch 2
Sony must pay me first if they want me to pirate this trash.
why’s it trash though? it was a fun game that was held back by being locked on the ps4 at the time.
Generic open world + button mashing
I was hyped for this game, but all open world games feel the same nowadays.
Sony and Ubisoft make nothing but hot garbage.
‘Generic open world + button mashing’ I can understand that sentiment but, I wouldn’t call this a button masher on the hardest difficulty you would get murdered trying sh*t.
Ok, now go back playing space invaders
Hah, Like I would ever need one.

People are upsetting but they need to use their brain to put the heat where it should be. Like you said, big decision like that can’t be done by devs alone. Usually, it’s publisher enforced them to do so, just like injecting DRM into the game before release.
That’s because they are using Sony’s servers and not their own. They could set up their own servers but that would suck all the profit out of the game so they basically lease time on Sony’s massive server farms to save themselves the time, cost and trouble of making their own server farms
I think Sony is experimenting and eventually will create their own launcher and/or force people to buy game via that or had to launch it alongside 3rd store (Epic, Steam) like Ubisuck, EA did for years. First link-up account is optional, then introduce PS Overlay, then forced to create PSN account in order to play games. (Helldivers II is the first pone and victim of this move).
Greed… greed never changes.
good thing i still don’t own any ps games , but they are also on gog, is gog gonna betray the drm free?
Very unlikely. Doing so is going opposite way and betray the purpose of GOG itself. I don’t think CDPR that’s dumb. Though, when it comes to money and people, anything could be.
came back to tell you that cd project now has a secondary launcher….called ” Red launcher” its only usable with cyberpunk , but its kinda optional ,but there it is
Its also “bundled” with Next Gen Update for TW3. Kinda stupid, useless and unnecessary TBH. But there a away to bypass it, at least on Steam.
Reading the posts I am surprised no one is connecting the dots. This is not about setting up a new storefront this is about laying down the foundations for subscriptions for online play.
These have been the biggest profit channels for both Sony and MS (with their consoles) for decades and they (Sony for now) are determined to establish the same scheme on the PC.
In effect for Sony at least they want the PC to be turned into PS online subscription revenue stream.
Don’t think this is the case look at the just announced news for PC Ghost of Sushima. They are making it clear that solo play will not require a PS account.
The writing is on the wall.
Imagine the furor if valve started making everyone pay for online play with the games tied to their steam service. Let’s see how this plays out.
No it’s about signing up to use a Server owned by someone else …… EXACTLY like every online multiplayer game ever made …….
This has been going on for over 25 years, if you want to play a multiplayer game you have to sign up for their servers ,,,,, EXACTLY like Baldur’s Gate 3, Fortnite, Call of Duty, GTA5 online, RDR2 online, etc. etc. etc.
If you want to use the multiplayer part of Ghost of Tshushima you have to sign up for it …. There is no single player component to Helldivers 2 so you must sign up to use the servers just like every other online multiplayer game ever made
No it’s about getting a foothold for establishing an online subscription model. This has been going on for over 25 years. It is the primary profit producer for Sony and MS for the past 25 years for their consoles. It is why MLB the show is still not on PC but is now on xbox. It is why Ghost of Tsushima devs made an announcement for solo not needing an online account but multi needing one going forward.
“Servers owned by someone else” cost money on a recurring basis hence why a subscription model will eventually happen using this excuse. I am pretty sure you will defend this too.
If Sony waves a wand and makes online play free for all their PS5 owners then your argument is valid otherwise it not.
I wish people would have this same reaction to Ubikontz shyte launcher
that launcher is seriously the worst. glitches out all the time. Last good game Ubi did was Division 2, and even that had so many issues I had to get through just to finish the dang thing. Yikes.
mine got hacked a while back by some chinese person and started cheating on Rainbow 6 Siege and got it banned. They also changed my name and deleted all my friends. But Ubisoft acted like it was my fault and reluctantly unbanned it
ugh that sucks, sorry you had to deal with that. Glad I got AC Origins and Syndicate on the cheap. Once I play through those I doubt I will ever touch a Ubi title or use their launcher ever again.
ye, i make a habit of never buying their games anymore.
makes sense, none of their newer titles are worth the scratch
PlayStation overlay
Eww… Most likely half baked and destroys performance.
Easy pass either way, Sony said that registering an PSN account while playing on PC was always supposed to be optional… now they changed it. And consider how many times sony sites been hacked by any hacker worth 10 cents… it’s just a matter of time before you can download your own along with every PSN user data from darknet. You likely get a heads up when all the spam starts… and perhaps a year later Sony acknowledged the breach they have known for all that time.
It would been just as easy to have the steam uid banned and what not but no… PSN loses active users so they have to find some obnoxious way to inflate the numbers.
