Man, lots of interesting news today, right? After the leaks for Gears of War: Ultimate Edition’s stealthy release and Forza Motorsport 6 coming to the PC, here comes another one. IGN has just leaked that Gears of War 4 is coming to the PC.
As IGN claimed:
“Those people can play Forza Motorsport 6: Apex, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Gear of War Ultimate Edition, Ori and the Blind Forest, Quantum Break, Minecraft on VR, and other upcoming Windows 10 games like Sea of Thieves, Fable Legends, and Gears of War 4.”
Of course this isn’t the first time we hear about Gears of War 4 coming to the PC.
Back in February, Gamespot claimed that Gears of War 4 was coming to the PC. Gamespot edited its story and claimed it was a simple mistake, however this very same ‘mistake’ happened today with IGN’s latest story.
It’s pretty obvious that Gears of War 4 will be coming to the PC.
The big question right now is not “if” but rather “when”
Oh, and you can safely bet that this will be yet another Windows 10-only game!

Xbone is irrelevant.
For ONES and for ALL – Xbone is for people that DONT have the cash or will game on a Pc!
Are you one of those IDIOTS that dont get it ?
If not im sorry, but to all those F*CKN morons that dont see it -Pc is pc and a console is a console, how F*CKN hard can it be to understand!
I salute MS for doing this, as more money to them and we pc gamers can enjoy some of those xbox exclusives, that we DONT think it’s worth to get a damn console for!
I don’t want a GoW 4 w/out 2 and 3.
Good call, they just remastered the first one. Which i find stupid. BUT if they do the 2nd and 3rd then release the 4th well NOW we’re talking and only THEN will i play that franchise on pc.
Don’t wanna miss that deep, rich story, eh?
Microsoft will stop supporting win 10 after win 10 overtake win 7 so take it easy xbox one fanboy in 2017 or 2018 not a single xbox one exclusive coming to pc its all about business from ms
Windows 10 wont overtake Windows 7 thought.
-Barely any games use DX12
-Theres a bigger push to use Vulkan
-Office spaces all use XP or 7
-Pre built computers which contained said Windows 10 are dying
-Laptops arent big enough
-Windows 10 barely improves over anything
It just isnt happening
Bigger push to use Vulkan? I have heard of just two game that will be using Vulkan and the one out right now performs much worse when against dx11. There’s 9 confirmed and 2 rumored dx12 titles so far.
Yes, I’m pretty sure MS will stop supporting Win 10 and go back to a previous Operating System.
People still use XP, whats your point?
Vista flopped hard besides being a piece of shit, so did 8.
Windows 7 will continue to be used and Linux is getting more and more support.
It wont happen https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/2ba16e56f8d99d7ab98d44e81bcfc30c273064205fb7f650931b2e738c00dd25.png
It’s going to happen, people already are moving to W10, your graph shows that already more people use W10 than XP, W8.1, Mac, developers are already moving to DX12. Quit living in the past.
Wow, people are moving away from XP…. SOMEONE, STOP THE PRESSES!
Wow, Windows 8 adopters are moving from a piece of sh*t to a bigger piece of sh*t. Again, someone, PLEASE, STOP THE PRESSES!
Mac Developers? Wait, WHAT? Mac Developers? What? Seriously? The people who have been using OpenGL for over a decade now, because OS X LITERALLY doesn’t support Microsoft’s proprietary Direct3D Tech are “moving to DX12” now? WHAT? AGAIN – SERIOUSLY, SOMEONE, PLEASE, STOP THE F*CKING PRESSES, I’VE GOT THE NEWS OF THE DECADE HERE.
Are you serious? Please tell me you’re just badly attempting to communicate a very, very sarcasm-laden post there, because otherwise there’s really nothing I can do for you, mate.
Where did I say Mac developers? Please show me, mate. If you don’t know how to read properly then there’s really nothing i can do for you, mate. W10 is growing at a faster speed than W7 did in the same time frame. The future is W10, and you poor folk know it but are just wishing it goes away.
Oh, a comma, nice.
Aside from that, yes & no. Windows 10 broke the “one month adoption rate” record. It subsequently failed to continue its “record-breaking streak” however, until finally it even crashed & burned behind Windows 7’s numbers last November;
Article header dated November 30th, 2015;
“Windows 10’s usage share lead over Windows 7 evaporates”
Now, before someone brings up Microsoft’s latest “Windows 10 has reached/been activated on XXX million DEVICES” – “devices” =/= PC’s. We have absolutely no official Microsoft numbers comparing PC adoption rates of Windows 7 (or even 8/8.1) to Windows 10, & all unofficial numbers based on web data etc. are stating this, pretty much;
Article header dated January 4th, 2016;
“Windows 10 Adoption Rate Still Under 10 Percent, Users Sticking With Windows 7”
Another article, from November 12th 2015, on Windows 8.1 adoption rates vs. Windows 10;
“Windows 10 adoption is already significantly behind the uptake pace set by its predecessor, 2013’s Windows 8.1, during its first three months, according to an analysis of OS user share.”
But please, don’t let me stop your parade. Windows 10 is the future! YEAH! ALL HAIL TO THE GLORY OF UWP APPS! – Because who doesn’t love the Windows Store.
With all the new games that will start requiring DX12 we are definitely going to see a big migration to W10. Just like we saw a big migration to W7 when DX11 games started to come out.
I see. So, for the record, why exactly are Developers going to have DX12 as a Minimum Requirement? Let me rephrase; why exactly are money-grubbing-wh*re Publishers going to cut out a massive portion of their playerbase by making their Games DX12-only? Excluding the ones published/funded by a certain company called Microsoft, of course.
Because they think they’re going to make more money by cutting off the majority of their PC playerbase & forcing them to choose? Ridiculous. Only an idiot of insane proportions (or alternatively someone taking a lot of money from Microsoft to do so) will release a DX12-Exclusive Game for PC with current adoption rates. Because of exactly this, Windows 7 has years left on its lifespan, if not more. Not to mention how Square Enix just got a hilariously rude awakening with its Windows Store Port of Rise of the Tomb Raider, all of which will only help influence Publisher’s views that taking Microsoft money to make something Windows 10-exclusive (or even without) is a ridiculously stupid idea.
“Big migration” – once again, what? I’m confused, when was there some “big migration of people to Windows 7” that got attributed to DX11, exactly? DX11 was always secondary, & near-unilaterally ignored by comparison to DX9 by Developers until the moment they started developing for New-Gen Consoles, by which point Windows 7 was already long-since the dominant OS. It was that way for years, all because the X360 Generation was DX9-only & Console was everyone’s primary focus, just as it continues to be today.
Windows 7 adoption rates were, at best, minimally boosted from the handful of AAA Games that had DX11 support. People (some sooner, others later) just naturally upgraded their software, hardware, & got DX11 compatibility, period; Tessellation & co. didn’t magically boost Windows 7 adoption rates. For that matter, Vista also got DX11, yet today it’s practically dead.
People moved to Windows 7 because they wanted to, not because a shinier, barely used version of Direct3D was being waved at them.
People that uses XP aren’t MS focus, as it will be the same with 7, no matter how many people still there. You can use any Windows OS you want, support will drop any time and MS will move on, and in a “win” position because the market share won’t change any time soon.
the game is out already on Windows10 store , size is 52.8GB
That’s Gears Ultimate, the remake of the first game. Gears 4 is due out this fall for Xbone, and may come simultaneously or later to Win 10 depending on what they decide.
MS already blowing it’s load towards PC gamers in an attempt to get them all on Windows 10. Sadly it’s not going to work with me.
You are not the only one, and i’m pretty sure it’s a trap… windows 10 is s#i7.
NOOOO just no
you will see why in my video down below
wait for the video to be approved
yea i saw that 30 fps and stutter on GTX 980Ti 1080p
MS is pushing so many XBone exclusives to PC and yet the only one I’m remotely interested in is KI, and not even interested enough to install Windows 10 anyway.
The only one i want is sunset overdrive
I’ve been looking forward to that one as well i just hope it gets a release this year with all the other exclusive !
So we have GoW 1, GoW 1 remake and GoW 4? Weird.
Ms sthap plz sthap
Seems great that they finally are opening the flood gates on the exclusive xbox games… BUT where are GoW 2 and 3? Where are the Halo games? Release all of that and i will forgive them.
Only problem will be the Windows 10 only thing. Funny how even with all of those games i still dont feel like updating my Windows 7.
Give me the other 2 first. Infact instead give me the Halo Remastered trilogy, I honestly don’t care about any other console exclusive besides the first 3 halo games.
Wow you’re on fire today John, keep up the good work that’s why we keep coming back here.

None of them have been confirmed to get Vulkan support so how could you possibly know that?
Rise of the Tomb Raider, The Elder Scrolls Online, Survarium, Just Cause 3, Squad, Descent: Underground, Ashes of the Singularity, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Fable Legends, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Hitman, Star Citizen, Ark: Survival Evolved. Quantum Break, W.N.C: Infantry and Forza Motorsport 6: Apex.
Only 4 of them are Microsoft published games.
Looking forward to playing it.
Nonsense, I despise Windows as much as the next guy but I know how to give credit where it is due, since 2000 every iteration of Windows gets better. Even Vista.
Vulkan will not make devs stick to windows 7, get this though out of your mind, it doesn’t make any sense to stick to a not supported OS. Don’t ask me why, but that’s the way it will work.
Until you provide proof the dev said their game will I’m ignoring you because you just keep repeating yourself. Barely any dev will pour the resources into supporting a new api. The only reason why the only 1 vulkan title currently available has vulkan is because it supported opengl.
Sod off with this, don’t try to patronize me with you opinions. Your guesses are as good as mine.
Windows got better with every iteration, that is a fact, if you only care about what is under the hood (but hurr durr interface, mah privacy);
The industry will not make the switch, as much as I like (and I do) Vulkan, I don’t see it major changes.
Win 7 will be dropped, Win 10 will move on. Face it.
One of the most generic and boring franchises of all time.
It’s your nickname “Bating”. It gets caught by our “word filter” and all your comments need to be manually approved 😉

Tell me how was the support for XP when Vista was failling? Did MS released DX10 or the others improvements for it? No they didn’t, they’ve re worked the system and launched 7. Same deal with 8/8.1, will be the same deal with 10.
what the heck are you talking about??
i wrote something but was in romanian.Seems is an imposible language for some people,is hard one i know and online translator’s are only 40% accurate.Anyway i wrote about,980ti and 30 fps?WTF?I saw the video.I wonder,in 2017 what will requirements be?Since Microsoft is known for FORCE apply of a DX,remember Just Cause 2,and from that most of games.EXAMPLE:2013-2014 games,requirements on PC vs XBOX360?in 2 years 970,16 ram,I5 4000 series for minimum req,720p,30 fps,why?NEW CPU,GPU,incoming.I wonder also how that 400$ PC build(2014),build that outperforming a PS4,maybe on some of this year Pc config,but stiil,how it will run DX12 games in 2017/2018?A PS4 will have only DX11,30fps,medium settings when that 400$ PC is only with 750ti,6 Ram,I3 dual core,four threads.Where is DX12 will be more efficient,performance will be better than DX11,STATEMENT few good months ago.Seems that DX12+WIN10=UPGRADE(again).
Yet it hasn’t, DX moved forward, driver support moved forward, hardware support moved forward, market share interest MS and MS only, because for them it doesn’t make a difference, they still on a “win” position people making the switch or not.
Yet it will move forward. Their recent moves prove it, the ecosystem, the mobile/desktop shared features, now the Xbox/Windows supposed merge.
Again, use Win 7 as long as you want, MS moved on and will not come back to it, and neither will games development.
Microsoft has been competing with itself in the OS market for years.
People still use XP for a reason.
Win10 is probably an even bigger flop than 8 and its free.
Youll see
Competing? Nah, dominating.
XP nowadays gaming? Nope.
Enterprises, small business, and the like? Yes, still irrelevant on the grand scheme of things.
We all shall see.
😀
Numbers already show that W10 adopters are growing at a faster rate than W7 did in it’s first year.
Again, quit living in the past.
