PC Forza fans, the moment you’ve been waiting for has arrived. Microsoft and Turn 10 have just released Forza Motorsport 6: APEX Beta on the PC. This is a DX12-only title, weights around 18GB and can be downloaded exclusively from the Windows 10 Store.

During the open beta for Forza Motorsport 6: Apex, players can expect to play a beautiful, high quality experience that will run on a variety of Windows 10-enabled machines.

“As a first-party Microsoft studio, Turn 10 is obsessed with performance in Forza games and, during the open beta for Apex, we will be working to improve the game’s performance across a diverse selection of hardware setups”

And as Turn 10 claimed, Forza Motorsport 6: APEX will support wheels in the future.

“Wheel support is coming to Forza Motorsport 6: Apex and Turn 10 is busy working to ensure that Apex delivers the kind of wheel support, performance, and features that racing fans expect from a range of available hardware. In addition we plan to support additional features that we know are important to PC gamers, such as the ability to disable Vsync and an in-app framerate counter.”

    1. I don’t think so. It will be really big deal on PC and a lot of car enthusiasts will absolutely love it.

      1. If you’re a enthusiast you’re already playing a game with wheel support and content not scaled back.

        1. Dude… it’s free. How can you complain about free sh*t? Seems you just need a readon to be upset.

          1. You have a point. But beware, when micro$oft is involve nothing, NOTHING is free
With that in mind im gonna download the game after work

  1. Still no SLi support on any of their games so no interest to me and a loss of sales.

      1. ‘SALES’ Read what I wrote properly before commenting and trying to be a smart a*s you twat.

My comment was related to their games not just this title.

  2. Fires up the game with a core i7 3770, 16 gigs of RAM and a GTX 970, stutters like hell. Microsoft sucks. Period.

  3. They know the ability to disable V-sync and to measure FPS is important to PC gamers yet they launch the game without those options. That options should be a given to all of PC games yet Microsoft still doesn’t care. Why do games have to be launched first and then patched instead of waiting a bit more time and releasing them as they should be?

    1. They aren’t going to delay their game just to wait for Microsoft to fix these issues which will be coming this month.

That is dumb. People are still going to play it with or without the ability to disable v-sync

Oh and for the 100th time you can measure your fps via dxtory and PresentMon

  4. Runs great and it looks fantastic. By default it is locked to 30 fps so make sure you change that. And i couldn’t figure out how to make the controller to work, but the keyboard controls great.

    1. If you have an X1 pad like me, go to device manager and find controller under xbox peripherals, right click and select update driver. Let it search the internet and pick its own. This worked for me, and added the bonus of enabling impulse triggers in the xbox 1 pad, the first pc game I’ve ever had that work for, its a weird feeling at first, but feeling the breaking and traction in turns in the triggers is actually pretty cool

      1. Thanks, that worked. I even forgot that x1 pad has vibration for the triggers, finally a game that uses them.

  5. Dude i’m 39. And i don’t fear Microsoft as the anti-christ. AND it’s a vidrogame… not a shady land deal. And i have experienced many things in life “too good to be true” that actually were true. Maybe i will get jaded in my next 40 years but so far lifes been good. I have no reason to question a free videogame.

      1. Wow, you actually cried over this I bet.

You keep on your quest hurting those big evil companies by not buying their FREE game.
        What a derp

        1. You are a sad one up voting your own comments.

Let me make it clearer for you simpletons.

None of the Windows store games support SLI which includes this one.

Forza – Free but will obviously have paid DLC etc.
          Quantum Break
          Tomb Raider
          Gears of War

These are all games that I would have bought if they supported SLi as I like to play at 4k maxed out. Hence I won’t buy them without SLi support and hence the loss of SALES. I also expect that I’m not the only one with this viewpoint.

          Get it now?

  6. Played it. Didn’t fuzz with settings but it was smooth on a 59030k/32gb ddr4-3200 and a titan x. Somehow my gsync monitor didn’t impede performance (since gsync and freesync are not even working on w10 store games). Anyways it looked good but not out of the ordinary. I shall give it a try since forza games are always nice products.

    1. Yah same here. It looks like they smartened up and actually applied gsync fix at launch instead of waiting 3 weeks after the fact. They created fix first w/ gears of war, but then still launched Quantum Break with the initial flaw.

  7. What the hell is with their servers? The game is downloading slowly as hell.
Star Citizen downloaded like 5 times faster.

        1. I’m asking because I was reading a discussion earlier where you seemed to have been vehemently against Windows 10. Something about it being malicious and anti-competitive etc.etc. Which is why I was a little surprised to see you mention playing Forza. So who knows, maybe Windows 10 isn’t malicious and anti-competitive enough to stop you from using it at all? If the so-called critics of Windows 10 are the ones found to be using it, it kinda defeats the purpose, doesn’t it? More so considering Windows 10 isn’t a mandatory update and you could’ve just stuck with Win7 or whatever for gaming if you really wanted to.

          1. I was using it as an example because people were using ethical arguments about Gameworks, yet the platform they are gaming on is anti-anticompetitive(Microsoft have been found guilty of this by the U,S government and the E.U), malicious , closed source and forcing OS updates for new graphics API like DirectX. If you want to use DX12 you will be forced to use Windows 10.

          2. Ah alright, so you personally have no issues with such things then I presume? In fact, most gamers don’t, and probably rightly so. The few who do choose not to use Win10 at all. And they’re probably right on their own terms as well. It’s the people who frequently shuttle back and forth between these views as per their own benefits who are the cause of concern.

  8. Still no SLi support on any of their games so no interest to me and a loss of sales.

    Unrelated to the news? Maybe.

Unfortunately he’s already a moron, a dumbest c*nt, idiot and a r&tard&d loser so I can do nothing about it.

      1. In case you haven’t realized by now, I’m actually at your side on this particular matter.

Not as a “KB warrior” though, I’m not found of these internet based silliness.

          1. It’s because you’ve been bamboozled by my secret technique of sarcamsmartarsery.
            Here’s what I’ve done:

            -First I’ve quoted you comment highlighting the thing you’ve said right and the others didn’t get it ;
            -Then I’ve used the names they’ve called you in a attempt to make them read what they got wrong about you and make them feel very, very silly and think about what they’ve done in the corner;

There, all explained. I’m not going to do this again so pay more attention next time ok? 😉
            Cheers!

  9. Ok. this is the best launched W10 store game I’ve played so far. Can definitly say they are making progress. No issues with performance, no hyper fast gamespeed like with ki

    1. They are making it better faster than I’m used with Microsoft fixing stuff. Quantum Break was hit and miss miss miss miss downloading. This has been steady the whole time

  10. I have been playing this game today. 4k maxed out with a single 980 ti. And i can tell you people this game is a masterpiece. The amount of love on little details is overwhelming. Graphics from another realm. And Its running pretty damn good. Very close to 60 fps, i can tell on my naked eyes. Now i know why peasant didnt want this game on pc.
