Microsoft and Playground Games have detailed the second update for Forza Horizon 3. According to the development team, PC gamers can expect some performance improvements as this patch will bring thread layout changes for eight-core setups. Owners of quad-cores can also expect performance improvements due to some CPU optimizations.

WOW if this patch actually does what it says it does then the game is completely fixed. These devs are very professional and I had no doubt they will be able to fix up all the hiccups that the game launched with, what I did not anticipate is how quickly they will be able to do it. I am currently Level 260 having played for 130 hours and still only 69% complete so the patch is greatly welcomed because I will be playing this game every day until the next Forza game comes out same time next year, which will probably be Forza Motorsport 7.
can you run this game at 1080p 60 fps ultra setting after this update ?
Patch is not out yet but I can run 4k/60fps Ultra 95% of the time without the patch with i7 and GTX 1080. But with the patch I expect I will be able to play 4k/60fps 100% of the time because of the CPU improvements they made in this patch.
I don’t think it’s dropped yet, at least not showing up in store as an update. But I’d say that would totally depend on his hardware, I’ve personally never had any problems at 1080p 60 on this game with my 980, but I play at 1440 most time anyways
“what I did not anticipate is how quickly they will be able to do it”
They had 2 years to do it and they failed. it might fix some problems, it might cause some new ones but i’m sure it won’t fix most of them. (they never fixed stuttering issues in APEX)
what a ret**ded comment. name me ONE game in the last two gens that has come without launch issues… they had years to do what? pc platform is not as easy as a console where you code to the metal. sorry you had issues with apex, but not eveyrone had stuttering like you did with your sh**ty pc. i had none and in fact, i havent had issues with windows store games yet.
I can name plenty you f**ktard. Shadow Warrior 2 just released, Witcher 3 didn’t have this many issues, GTA V had a good launch, even GoW4 is alright.
“they had years to do what?”
To not f**k around and polish the game.
“pc platform is not as easy as a console”
Stop right there, end yourself you dumb f**k.
“sorry you had issues with apex”
Most people had issues, some are re*ards and wont notice it like you. many reported the issue with the game and they did not fixed it.
“your sh**ty pc”
Wow, another re*arded fanboy, find a cliff, jump…
“i had none”
Of course you didn’t. cancer won’t get cancer, and in this case you are the cancer.
Won’t buy it until they support Driving Force GT.
I want too. I have DFGT too and so bad Microsoft forget us!

I found that setting in task manager details the game in “real time” priority help tremendously it also completely fixed the stuttering in apex by the way
What CPU do you have?
A good old i7 3770k overclocked at 4.2 ghz but even an i5 should be enough forza games on pc hammer only one core and barely uses threads ironic for a dx12 game
Hopefully this fixes the stuttering so many people are getting. I can cut these devs a little slack, as they’ve spent so long making games only for consoles and they seem to be trying to address the issues. It’s obviously not a lazy port, just one that’s having some teething problems.
the HYPE IS REAL guys !
“Fixed an issue that would cause a game crash for some Xbox One players when pausing the game”
Oh they will fix this and forget about anything else, they might also add some DLC files as well. it might also cause you to download the full game again and again and again.
No update yet…. Been checking the Windows Store
Oh no a mediocre mmorpg not doing so well on pc is it because pc gamers actually got a better taste in gaming while consoles scums eat whatever thrash devs throws at them?
I love how you’re such an amazingly sad peasant loser that you come on a PC gaming site to troll and constantly get butthurt. You *literally* have no life don’t you.

Top kek.
Have they fixed the “windows store only” problem yet? cause that is the only one i care about.
Just got the update…
Doesn’t do much, MAYBE very slightly improved CPU core usage, but 1 core is still hitting up to 95% load while others are anywhere from 5 to 50% load. I’m using a highly overclocked 8 core i7 though, so the game has always run well for me and i’ve had a good overall experience, but if you have 4 cores this update isn’t looking good…
This patch has atleast fixed the pauses in the car upgrade/tuning menu.
BTW it’s worth pointing out that the “stutters” were almost completely fixed in the last patch, and they only affected 4 core CPUs. When the game encounters a stutter it would hang on a SINGLE frame for up to half a second. I tested the game with just 4 cores enabled after the last patch came out, and it pretty much fixed the stutters (for me anyway). If you have general frame rate drops, especially in certain areas like the city, then this is a different issue. In this case you need to turn down the Dynamic Geometry and Static Geometry settings. That should fix or greatly reduce this issue.
New update sure smoothened things up. Overall quite pleased with the UWP product. Still hate the store.
What hardware and settings. Because for me it’s still the same….
Single 970 with a I7 4770K
Does the game stutter like before? I have seen your video and that was awful.
It’s not as bad a times… It still happens but that 1st patch was terrible.
Less stutters with unlock fps, but after 1 or 2 hours it goes to hell.

Playing in 1440p with a Gsync monitor. Games drops in 50s when i get in the city but otherwise i get 70+ more or less. Frame stability is
Improved, for me.
F**k off shill.
