Square Enix has revealed the official box art for Final Fantasy 7 Remake and as we can see, the game will be exclusive to PS4 until 2021. To be more precise, the game will remain a PS4-exclusive until March 3rd, 2021.
Square Enix has not revealed any additional details, however, it’s safe to assume that the game will come to the PC in 2021. Unless of course the publisher pulls a Kingdom Hearts on us and releases it only on the Xbox consoles.
My guess is that Square Enix will reveal more details about the game’s PS4 exclusivity in the next few weeks. Therefore, we could see a VGA 2019 announcement (though I suggest you keep your expectations in check).
Final Fantasy 7 Remake uses Unreal Engine 4. As such, it will be interesting to see whether Square Enix signs up a deal with Epic Games.

Yeah it could be the likely outcome, but no way in hell am I waiting till 2021, so SE can just launch it at full price, let alone release future episodes exclusively on PS, then another yr onto PC. I ain’t got time for that bs. I’ll just not buy anything from SE, like everyone else in the scummy side of the games industry.

Despite exclusivity, I hope it’s just a year not two like it was the case with FFXV.
Is this thing still going to be episodic released trash? Not that I would bother with it anyways. I really don’t care about FF XV with a VII skin on it, but, episodic would just be the ultimate slap in the face and money grab.

i concur this was pretty confusing for PC. clearly the Kingdom Hearts series has a place on pc. it was great news for xbox but astonished that pc has been tossed up for as long. i can only imagine the arrival of the series will be at some point on PC with special care.
I went hands on at Gamescom, and it doesn’t play like FFXV in the ways that matter such as actually needing to time/aim dodges, circling behind the enemy NOT being the only strategy (weak points can be on different parts of enemies and certain characters excel at different ranges), moves outside of the standard attack actually having utility (even early game), you can’t hold the attack button to magically zip between enemies (retargeting means moving manually like an action game, and holding the button only does a short flurry), and you’ll be constantly issuing commands/switching characters on top of all of that.
After FFXV I wasn’t at all confident in SE’s ability to make a competent game, let alone a competent battle system, but what I played of the demo showed they actually spent a lot of time prototyping a system that is engaging and *gasp* actually dares ask something of you.
People who complain episodic release can just wait for a complete version to be released. You got many other games to play anyway. It would be great if Kingdom Hearts III come to PC as well.

Paying full price for a third of a game that will never be completed.
First, is SquareEnix are able to do a good REMAKE ??? Not sure about that.
It’s gonna be interesting how their gonna do the graphics and gameplay for this remake. Meanwhile theres a lot of December releases to play over the holidays.
