Focus Home Interactive has announced that Flying Wild Hog’s Evil West will release on PC on September 20th. In order to celebrate this announcement, the publisher has also released a new trailer that you can find below.
Evil West promises to have a visceral and explosive combat system that will allow players to unleash hell with their firearms, lightning-fueled gauntlet and gadgets. Players will be able to kill bloodthirsty monstrosities in style as a lone hunter or in co-op with a friend.
Additionally, players will explore and fight in a narrative-driven campaign while upgrading their weapons and hunting tools. The game will also let you unlock new perks to evolve your monster-slaying mastery, crafting your own playstyle to defeat the supernatural hordes.
Enjoy!

Very informative, thanks. Never knew of Raypunk, Atompunk & cassette futurism. Butt for some reason I feel as if I know of Dieselpunk. I know I don’t but it feels as if I’ve heard that term before. I guess they new Wolfenstein games would be considered Dieselpunk.
Yes, indeed. Wolfenstein games tend to dieselpunk style.
Yes, it is!
lets go this looks dope af
Looks fun
Could be good. Though the font on that map looks suspiciously modern.
Can’t tell what’s going on with all of the lights and colors.
The lighting look really bad in some places, too much sheen on the 3D models, but the game itself is looks really fun.
Looks okay, at least slightly better than the previous gameplay trailers I have seen.
I was hoping they will make this a First-person shooter of some sort, but it appears Flying Wild Hog has gone for the TPP mode instead.
Well the problem with always going FPS is that all your games start to look and play the same. At least with TPP, you have to include more mechanics. Different animations make a game unique that’s my issue with FPS games, just a camera and it keeps immersion for me. Regardless it feels like breath of fresh air. But, Fingers Crossed On This ONE.
Have to say, I dread seeing FPS anymore, and already have for some time. First person perspective removes so much from a game, imo.
In some instances, it makes perfect sense to use first person, be it for the story, or a particular game mechanic.
Just seems all these companies jump on first person because of spreadsheets and checklists though.
I’m fine with FPS as long as they’re immersive, but these companies do the exact opposite with it.
HUD elements everywhere with cartoonish visuals and animations everywhere.
Yeah, of course I know the advantages of TPP Mode vs FPS. You are also correct. Most of the FPS titles, if not all, have the same gameplay mechanics, and are repetitive as well.
Some titles like TITANFALL 2 were pretty good. Shadow Warrior series on the other hand feels like we are playing the same game again and again. But I’m still addicted to FPS games.
Btw, have you guys played Quake 4, DOOM 3, Crysis 1 etc. in third-person view/mode ?. The gameplay and the camera angel looks very odd, but of course these titles were designed with the FPS gameplay mechanics and genre in mind, instead of TPP.
Just my thoughts.
I think I came to the Crysis series too late, especially crysis 1. That game just feels like one giant jank fest. I guess if I had played the first game when it was released maybe I’d be used to it. But it’s kinda like Mass Effect 2, beat that game 12x on release, loved it then. Recently went back to it and realized how much of a Jankfest it is. If it wasn’t for the mods that turned off shaky camera, endless sprint and weapon damage buff I just couldn’t play it again. These games doesn’t age well. But also, gaming is pretty much dead to be honest.
Played mass effect 2 again and realized how much content is missing from modern games. This all started because of COD then battle Royales. Booted up The Witcher 2 and said ah, “now this is a game”. Dishonored series as an FPS, really did a good job of immersion. Original dooms were very good games as well. Now it’s pretty much over, or maybe I’m just old now. I never tried any of those games in TPP because something always feels off as hell because they weren’t designed to okay in TPP. Did you have a good experience with them? Because TPP is not just a mode about perspective, the animations, mechanics and play styles are what makes TPPs what they are.
I totally agree, as you have nailed it. Couldn’t have said better myself. Gaming industry is surely doomed for sure. Hard to find really good and polished SP titles these days.
Mass Effect 2 and Witcher 3 both were pretty good titles at that time when they got released. They also had this replay value which many games these days lack. Though, I could be wrong.
Nope, I have hardly tried the TPP mode in Crysis, Doom, or any other FPS. Just heard about it from the Modding community, saw some YT videos, but the experience is horrible.
Like you said, “”TPP is not just a mode about perspective, the animations, mechanics and play styles are what makes TPPs what they are”, sums it all. The player movement and animations looked janky as hell.
There are good SP games, just don’t follow AAA titles.
Middle budget and Indies are king now if you want a modicun of quality.
Yeah I know, that’s correct though. AAA industry has gone down the drain.
Trenpang2 has a new demo in like 3 days, John was the one who originally made me follow the project with his article.

You should try that out when it comes out, wash the bad taste out of your mouth with some actual passion.
Yeah, I know about this game. Looks very familiar to FEAR series as well. Will try it out when it releases.
Another unoriginal boring zombie s**t.
Anyone else noticed the slowdown/dip in fps at 0:46-0:47 (fires) ?
work in progress, mate
been keepin’ an eye on this one
I now know what happened to Shadow Warrior 3. It seems as if the main team got switched over to this game then Shadow Warrior 3 got left with an auxiliary.
This came as a surprise,and a welcome one…Looks like Painkiller,Shadow Warriorr,Hard Reset and BulletStorm all had a drunk and wild night out – i’m in 100 %!!
This looks fun, indeed. Hope it packs a decent story as well.
Looks great!
Earlier this month Flying Wild Hog’s parent company, Embracer Group, received a $1bn investment from Savvy Gaming Group, an entity wholly owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, in exchange for an 8% stake in the company.
Let’s see if the gaming press start asking questions about this the same way the sports media have been grilling Phil Mickelson for taking Saudi money.
