D3Publisher has announced that the latest entry in its popular series, Earth Defense Force 6, will be coming to PC in Spring 2024. As the press release reads, this next monstrous installment is set to deliver an adrenaline-pumping experience for veteran players and new fans alike.
Earth Defense Force 6 picks up three years after the events of its predecessor in the year 2027. The survivors continue their efforts to rebuild against the Primers, but threats to the world’s safety remain. The Earth Defense Force (EDF) is once again called upon to protect the planet from the aggressive extraterrestrial invaders.
Key features include an all-new storyline, the return of Ranger, Air Raider, Wing Diver, and Fencer classes, alongside an enormous amount of new content, including hundreds of additional missions and weapons. Players will also be able to fight through Earth Defense Force 6 as a two-player co-op experience with split-screen or online co-op with up to four players.
In order to celebrate this announcement, D3Publisher shared the following gameplay trailer. The game looks janky and fun, so don’t expect anything other than that. By today’s standards, it also looks dated.

i never finished the one that came on pc, not the one made by the west which sucked but had cool mechs, the next one that was made in japan, but after that the next game was changed to be more palatable to westerners and then there was this roblox looking one and then what, some other or this one? Anyway i dont care, looks like they try to emulate zoomer memes mixed with fox news, its weird.

Meh. ALL these games are the same.
I have “Earth Defense Force 4.1 – The Shadow of New Despair” and that’s plenty enough. Judging from the videos, the gameplay hasn’t changed one bit.

Game play hasn’t changed from the ps2 version really but the problem is the graphics haven’t really improved and arguably the aesthetics have gotten worse since 4.1.
