Bethesda and id Software have revealed the PC system requirements for the closed beta phase of DOOM. The interesting thing here is that id Software has upped both the minimum and the recommended requirements for its upcoming first-person shooter title. For example, while the alpha build required at least an Intel i3 CPU, the beta build requires at least an Intel i5 CPU. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. That… seems a bit excessive. I’m hazarding a guess those are minimum specs to run it at stable 60FPS.
Since when are recommended specs excessive? To run a solid 60+fps usually requires above recommended spec in any game.
Your forgot “at the highest possible settings”. Otherwise your statement is absurd.
since the console versions run 60 fps
“Since when are recommended specs excessive?”
Since… now?
I think it’s time for the new cards to come out. Devs are pushing the boundaries as is.
nonsense the cards are more powerful than the consoles, the problem is bad optimization and dx11.
Yeah, consoles holding us back as always for that extra buck.
G-snyc for the win i know my 1440P monitor will do fine!
Mother of god. 970 recommended. On another note, change the DAMN announcer voice. FOR THE LOVE OF DOOM plz…. He sounds like he’s on xanax or something. Jeez.
Eh? 970 is only a midrange card, i don’t get why people are moaning.
MIDRANGE!
I remember the old times where games were optimized, i bought a 8800 and i didn’t need to read requirements for more than 3 years.
Your mom is a midrange card , not everyone has the money to buy cards like that I myself have 960 4gb :I
Your mom is a midrange card”’
Thanks for the laugh xD http://gifsec.com/wp-content/uploads/GIF/2014/08/GIF-Amused-Chuckle-Chuffed-Pleased-Point-Point-and-laugh-GIF.gif?gs=a
No problem always in the shadows waiting to make people laugh
Some of us are still waiting.
I think it’s the famous hidden console power or something.
Even the Crysis suit sounds more bad4ss than this guy.
Good call, indeed.
Dont know whats the big deal the requirements are BS cause consoles holding pc gaming as always, its gonna look as console version it always does
Doesn’t help that the level building aspects of the new DOOM are based around the gamepad UI and generally made very simplistic and super easy for console users which tells me directly that the game is entirely based towards console users first, it also explains why Bethesda have gone from releasing mod tools to releasing them once consoles get mod support so PC modders will do the work for them the moment they land on PC so they can instantly siphon a boatload of mods to consoles. Basically Bethesda prefers consoles more than PC players and Wolfenstein, Fallout and DOOM tell me all I need to know.
Sad thing is CDPR have fallen to the ploy of consoles with their “Witcher 3 wouldn’t exist at all without consoles” and their latest shots of Cyberpunk’s UI looking more fit for a gamepad than a keyboard.
“8 GB RAM”
Consoles have 8 GB memory total (+ 32mb esram on Xbone). Shoddy port confirmed.
Those are a bit too high for a game that suppose to run 60 fps on consoles
Does this game run on Direct3D or does it run on OpenGL as the id Software tradition?
Even Doom Guy is thinking WTF! LMAO!
Something like that (not the same) would fit way more in the doom universe compared to the xanax king right now.
Time to Go PS4… No need to update every year.
