Doom feature v2

Doom mods overload: BorderDoom 1.0, Doom Exp V1.9 & Total Chaos are available for download

Doom fans, here are three mods that you really need to play. Normally, we’d keep this type of articles for the weekend. However, and since we’ll be covering RDR2 extensively this weekend, we decided to share these mods with you today.

The first mod is a total conversion that runs on the GZDoom source port. This mod, called Total Chaos, is a survival horror set on a remote island known as Fort Oasis. Its latest version adds three new chapters, new weapons, new enemies and new inventory items.

Doom Exp is the second mod. This is basically an xp/rank/reward/mobility modification with visual/sound/text notifications. Its first version came out last year and this latest version focuses on the shoulder cannon (which now has three different fire mode types).

The third mod is a Borderlands-inspired mod. As its title suggests, BorderDoom aims to bring gameplay elements from Borderlands to Doom. Therefore, you can expect weapons with random properties including: damage, number of bullets fired, firing speed and accuracy. Moreover, the mod adds rechargeable shields. It also introduces levels to the game’s monsters, thus making them stronger.

  1. I feel like I see articles about Doom 1 & 2 mods/tweaks/maps all the time… who the hell is still playing old a*s Doom these days? ya they were great games and defined an era, but seriously… there are soooo many other great and better games out now.

    1. Brutal Doom is on my desktop for life. It’s easily better than most of the supposed “AAA” tripe that costs $60. Untill I get Half-Life 3, Brutal Doom is my FPS of the year every year.

      1. well sh*t… you have convinced me to download this. now i eat my words since I now have old doom on my computer

        1. Awesome! It works with all the old Doom games, so if you like it there are plenty of levels to keep you busy for quite a while.

  2. That Total Chaos “mod” is actually a total conversion and is free to play. Doom2 is not required. Just grab it. I am blown away by what this person has accomplished. It is not Doom2 and looks more like a modern horror game. Amazing what he managed to pull off with that dated, but heavily modified engine.
