DICE has announced that it has cancelled the competitive 5v5 mode that it was developing for Battlefield 5. According to the team, this mode was cancelled as DICE is now focusing on improving the overall gameplay experience of the game itself.
As Ryan McArthur, Senior Producer of Battlefield 5, wrote:
“The added focus on improving the quality of the experience and adding more of the content you want has led us to step back from our original plans to offer a competitive 5v5 mode. Not creating this mode was a tough decision, but vital for us to more quickly reach our bug-crushing and content goals. However, we will still pursue building a competitive gaming experience in Battlefield. We know that there’s already an existing competitive scene in our community, and we’re helping build features to support these communities. We want to work more closely with our players to help improve the tools that they have available to shape their play experience. This way, we can better support the places where competitive Battlefield V play already exists.”
Battlefield 5 needs DICE’s attention so this is at least good news for those already owning the game. Yeah, it sucks that there will no longer be a competitive mode, no doubt about that. However, we can at least hope that BF5 will now get better.
DICE has also shared the key features for the game’s upcoming update 4.4. Patch 4.4 will contain fixes for stuttering issues, desyncs seen on hitboxes, and some tweaks to the Commorose. Patch 4.4 will also deliver two new infantry maps and an increase in max Rank. Moreover, you’ll be able to go beyond Rank 50 and start earning XP on your new journey to Rank 500.

Well 5V5 Could be awesome, but again its to late for that game now.
Failfield 5…..
They binned the 5v5 mode because only the 64-player mode comes close to featuring full ‘representation’ of all the genders!
😀 😀
This game is a total optimize mess. I use to play fine with my RX480. After updating to 5700xt the game plays much worse.
Sounds like your CPU… The games likes a lot of core / threads
I have a ryzen 2600 at 4ghz and 3400 ram with tight timings. Before they patch it it was ok. Now its a stuttering mess.
For their sake they better hope the 4.4 patch fixes the majority of issues players face today. Cause from Alpha to now the game has felt like BethesdaField V with all of it’s bugs / server lag it has had nine months into the games life since launch… Pretty sad because I honestly enjoy the game as a game. But the bugs / server issues as well as lack of content is really making people excited for the next COD sadly.
It sure was the last one that had it all done right. I have very good memories of that game. 😉
I bet Dice is working 90% on Battlefront and a mere 10% skeleton crew in Battlefield V at this point. Battlefront is where the money is, and sure where all focus is at the moment.
And hopefully if they have another team working already in the next Battlefield…hope they copy what they did with Battlefield 3 step by step. Not sure why they insist in changing the formula that made them be what they are now. It seems the most incompetent thing to do to be honest.
WubDOOM was alright.
Most people haven’t even played real Doom. Doom 2016 was nothing in comparison. It was okay but it definitely wasn’t Doom.
Prey and DOOM were superb titles and DMC5, RE2 as well.
While i agree that all the titles you mentioned are great tittles, only DOOM is a Shooter.

Should have cancel this sjw cancer before they even started development.
I still prefer Battlefield 2 and 3.
They’ve learned nothing from BF1. Why did they waste their time and ressources on that competitive mode? Enough with the infantry-only content, that’s not what Battlefield is about. Why do they keep going after the CoD audience?
Because they can’t touch the fortnite audience 😀
They’ve tried with Firestorm but no one cared since it’s not what Battlefield players want.
Battlefield went through so many iterations over the years that there is no such thing as a Battlefield fan or player.
I loved the first few.
Where is Domination Dice? (Already installed BF1)
Many ppl love this mode.
Should have cancelled the entire game.
