Diablo fans, here is something special for you today. YouTube’s ‘egodbout2’ has announced that a public testing phase will be launched on May 11th for his upcoming Diablo 2 remake in StarCraft 2, The Curse of Tristram.
This test build will be playable on Battle.net Arcade Starcraft2 (meaning that it will be available to everyone) and it will support Europe, America and Asia servers. The build will start with 6xZone available with also 3xDifficulty modes, Normal, Heroic and Mythic.
In case you weren’t aware of, Arcade Starcraft 2 is free to everyone, which means that anyone can download it a playtest this Diablo 2 fan remake.
From the looks of it, egodbout2 aims to remake the entire Diablo 2 game. Though he has not clarified whether he plans to remake all Acts from the game, he has already recreated numerous Acts and Zones.
Enjoy!

diablo 2 reminds me of best days of my life and i refuse to play it again, i never touched diablo after my childhood.
This is rad as hell.
2 questions:
1) is this legal
2) how long till the DCMA notice?
I’ve played it… Well, I didn’t expect too much, but it’s even worse than I thought. This is a total disaster… Choosing StarCraft II engine to do this was totally a bad idea. I think the guy has potential, but he should definitively move to an engine more fit for that kind of game.
