Epic Games is currently offering for free Deus Ex: Mankind Divided on Epic Games store for a limited time. From today until March 21st, PC gamers can visit its EGS page and acquire their free copy.
In this game, you once again assume the role of Adam Jensen. Now an experienced covert operative, Jensen is forced to operate in a world that has grown to despise his kind. Armed with a new arsenal of state-of-the-art weapons and augmentations, he must choose the right approach, along with who to trust, to unravel a vast worldwide conspiracy.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was the second part in a new Deus Ex trilogy. However, Square Enix abandoned those plans when the game failed to meet its high commercial expectations. Then, Square Enix sold the IP to Embracer. And now, the IP is on ice. Yes, Embracer claimed that it would revisit it. However, the company currently faces a lot of financial issues. So yeah, don’t expect a new Deus Ex game anytime soon.
Mankind Divided had a lot of potential. The amount of hidden things this game has is truly incredible. The game set in motion a lot of events, and man… I can’t really talk about them as I might spoil them. Just… pay extra attention to the game’s main menu background.
It’s a shame what happened to Mankind Divided. According to some reports, Square Enix intervened in its development. According to some reports, SE cut content from it so that it could release it sooner. Now there isn’t any concrete evidence of this. However, when you finish the game, you’ll definitely feel like that wasn’t meant to be its ending.
Anyway, you can go ahead and acquire your free copy from this link. So, if you haven’t played, waste no time and get it.
Have fun!

shame you need the tactical pack for the Micro Assembler Augmentation which gets somewhere close to the recycler gameplay of 2017 Prey
Anyone planning to play this on modern GPUs (NVIDIA 16/20-series and up or RDNA1+) should consider giving DXVK a try for the DX11 version or a combination of DXVK + VKD3D-Proton (not plain VKD3D) for the DX12 renderer.
The DX12 rendition in particular is known to be broken, however when translated to Vulkan via the above combo it still performed really good on my Steam Deck.
Thanks for the tip. DXVK is a savior for older DX9-DX11 games on modern hardware !
Saviour of 11 games ? Literally 90% Dx11 games runs better natively on Dx11 itself.
The Steam version performed fine on Windows the last time I tried it. Can’t remember if I tried it in D3D12 or D3D11, but if I had the choice then I probably picked D3D12 unless it underperformed.
Well, here’s a public comment from Valve’s lead DXVK developer on the matter:

I don’t remember the game having any noticeable issues on Windows, but I may not have actually played it in D3D12 mode. I think I played it before installing Windows 10, and have only really run the benchmarks since then to test my GPU performance.
I remember the PC version being pretty damn great. Some clueless tards tried running some meme settings like FSAA and afterwards crying about it being poorly optimised.
The PC port was made by Nixxes. They generally know WTF they’re doing.
I remember the game not having good FPS, so I can understand people complaining about that, but beyond that I don’t remember issues with the game. There may have been some bugs here and there, but I really don’t remember them.

works on GTA iV 👍🍕😎
John you POS, there’s 2 games being offered for free, you should mention both of them.
Steam: No free games + DRM 🤮🤮
Epic: Free Games, but still DRM 🤢
GOG: Free Games and no DRM ❤️
job poor get
Steam and GOG offers free games from time to time, but much less than Epic.
I really like GOG too and buy from there when given the chance but the thing that the GOG fans always seem to forget to mention is that the availability of AAA newer games is extremely limited there.
DRM in Steam is NOT mandatory, it’s up to the publisher. Plenty of DRM-free games there.
I’m not so sure that’s true about steam at least, I think I’ve read some discussions somewhere that says if you start it with the games exe and the game doesn’t have 3rd party launcher it doesn’t need steam to be played. Third party launchers are on the game pub not steam. Someone who has steam here should try it out on a game that doesn’t have 3rd party launcher drm so SP only play not online of course. We know jubisoft, justar etc are hard must use their login/launchers though so none of their stuff etc
There are a few games on Steam that don’t use the Steam DRM. A list can be found on Wikipedia. Valve doesn’t make the decision whether to put the Steam DRM on games. They just make it available as part of their services. The Publishers decide whether or not to use the Steam DRM.
The same applies at EGS. You can go offline to check a game. Go to the game folder and run the exe. A lot of them will launch just fine without the EGS launcher.
yeah pulling the plug on the internet while you try the exe would be confirmation, unless you have a 3rd party firewall set to manual ok only and deny it going online but just easier to disconnect I’d think. I also was assuming steam drm was simply having to login didn’t know it was separate from logging in.
If you like the Dishonored series or Prey, this is a must
Which Deus Ex pre-dates.
Yeah, what’s your point?
Em-frikin-bracer recently just cancelled a new Deus Ex game was already in development.
“I never asked for this”.
I almost forgot about this game I remember for it’s time it looked great though. HR I played the heck out of back in the day. How you screw up a series as popular as DE is crazy then sell off the ip to someone else? weird.
It’s not as popular as you think it is. The game was fine, but still not popular enough.
Squenix were known for always setting insane sales targets for their western titles and never meeting them.
Never seen this one before. I really like it except ….highlighted stuff. I don’t need to be led around by the nose. Is there a way to turn that off so it doesnt highlight everything of interest?
It’s a toggle-able option in the settings.
Being a massive fan of Deus Ex 1 and having played it at release, i had to force myself to play and finish the super consolized Human Revolution after i hated it after 15 minutes of starting it. The characters, story and world building have a nice feel to them, but it has terribly repetitive sort of “canned” gameplay. You know when you think you can’t be right disliking it if everyone loves it. But no, just no. And Mankind Divided was about the same though a bit better but i couldn’t bother anymore after a couple hours. All while i ended up quite liking Adam Jensen, but the games are not up to the original.
i liked the news deus ex but yes they are far far from original one.
What a shame.
Its only base game, no DLCs for free. Already own full game on steam.
I loved as much as you will receive carried out right here The sketch is attractive your authored material stylish nonetheless you command get got an impatience over that you wish be delivering the following unwell unquestionably come more formerly again since exactly the same nearly a lot often inside case you shield this hike
