Starbreeze has announced that Dead by Daylight has sold over 1.8 million copies worldwide. As the press release reads, Dead by Daylight has already sold more than 1.8 million copies on the digital distribution platform Steam and became an instant favourite with streamers on Twitch and other streaming platforms.
Dead by Daylight is an asymmetrical multiplayer (4vs1) horror game that casts one savage Killer and up to four Survivors that desperately try to survive a terrifying nightmare.
Survivors play in third-person and have the advantage of better situational awareness. The Killer plays in first-person and is more focused on their prey.
The Survivors’ goal in each encounter is to escape the Killing Ground without getting caught by the Killer – something that sounds easier than it is, especially when the environment changes every time you play.
Dead by Daylight was released last June and it took Starbreeze a year in order to come close to its 2 million goal.

Lately I’ve begun to see a very disturbing trend forming in this exact regard……
A very disturbing trend, indeed……..
Yeah I’m seeing more hunter/Battle Royale type games being hyped for a few months, then being forgotten, but either way it sets a bad trend because devs are already starting to spam those types of games, worse is they are all multiplayer based, so gaming as a service is practically fit for those titles.
It will stop as soon as people stop buying into those.
Which likely won’t stop because those people were acting as if they were starved for decades.
But NeoGAF told me that pc gaming was irrelevant and dead. I don’t understand.
2012 is on the horn
Stop reading when the word Neogaf pops out. It will save you of reading a lot of trash.
WHy do you go on Neogaf? ffs i read about that site once i never visited it… i dont see the point in a site ran by peasants.
I never recall someone to say, at least here or on PC gamer, that console gaming is dying. We just dont care…
Saw that coming just couple weeks ago
You type your comments from a cellphone, right?
wat
17K concurrent players and slowly losing more players everyday…
Thats a lot of players. i would get anything for 17k peek players in a few other mp games on PC.
Pc gamers love multiplayer games. Honestly its always been this way. When all the console derps bring up single player exclusives i usually laugh. They dont get PC. PC gamers have been supporting mp focused games for decades. It might be PLayer Unknown now but it was Team Fortress, Quake Arena, Starcraft, Ultima Online and so on back in the day.
