DayZ Standalone Sells One Million Copies In Four Weeks, Exceeds Expectations

Well, it seems that PC gaming is dead… NOT. Dean ‘Rocket’ Hall has revealed that the standalone version of DayZ has sold over one million copies in four weeks. This number exceeded Hall’s expectations, so it will be interesting to see whether Bohemia will speed up the game’s development or not.

As Dean Hall announced via his Twitter account:

“Well, 1 million copies in 4 weeks. So much for the death of PC Gaming.”

When a fan asked Hall about the sales number and whether he was impressed by it, this is what ‘Rocket’ had to say:

“way beyond. way, way beyond. this gives me mandate now to make all the crazy games I ever wanted!”

  1. Great! Now he has more than enough money to hire extra developers to get the game finished quicker. Or maybe he’ll just take a second Mt. Everest trip.

  2. Honestly, I really thought people were going to lose interest with the long development cycle. Apparently not.

  3. but pc gaming is dead.

    Right?

NOPE, more alive than ever, just not good enough for the likes of “re6 needs to sell 7 million so we turned it into action”
