CD Projekt RED has released a brand new update for the PC version of Cyberpunk 2077. According to the release notes, Update 1.06 fixes/removes the 8MB save file size limit. As such, PC gamers can now craft as many items as they want.
However, do note that this patch will NOT fix your corrupted saved games. In short, there is currently nothing you can do about those corrupted saved games, so you’ll have to load another save.
In addition, Dum Dum will no longer go missing from Totentanz entrance during Second Conflict. That’s the only additional fix that comes with this small patch.
As always, all major stores will download Update 1.06 the next time you launch their clients. Below you can also find its complete changelog.

(trollface)
Whats that? Large game that you can play for a 100 hours? Yeah we gonna put a savegame limit there, why woudlnt we? Its not like you gonna play it for 100 hours…and the more stuff your craft and the more sidequests you do the more the bigger the savegame gets and gets corrupted.
Anyway i leanred that lesson from witcher, my savegame got corrupted so i gave up. When the enhanced edition came out, i then replayed it, worked much better. So i waited for the enhanced edition with the second game.
Thanks for beta testing by the way.
Gotta say the most hilarious case of save file becoming to big and getting corrupted was with darksiders 2 dlc, you buy the short dlc that takes place in on earth expecting it to be intesresting and its super short and it makes your savegame too big and it gets corrupted…ahahahaha….and you bought the dlc to play more game, but more game means save to large therefore, SAVEGAME CORRUPTION….ahahahahhahahaha.
Seriously wtf devs?
I stopped bothering with cdpr games after witcher 2. Which was a paid beta test for blatantly console constrained to-be-released product.
witcher 2 level design was made for consoles, linear corridors so the consoles can load them in the memory. It really ruined the game for me.
Yea, pretty much this. Not mentioning pure console GUI. Actually, everything stank with consoles from miles in that title.
IDK about that, the first two games used a hub world design only witcher 3 was open world. The first game was released only for the pc and the second game came out in 2011 for the pc and 2012 just for the xbox 360.
So it’s not like they went from open world to hub world, from witcher 1 to witcher 2 actually witcher 2 is superior to the first game in every aspect.
no its not the combat is clunky and the enviroments and lighting are far worse. Witcher 2 doesnt have a hub, it has linear corridors that connect to a “town” area.
Cyberpunk 2077 – release date TBA
a poor choice of Middleware i’m guessing. with too many platforms needing proper scaling attention. under most time consuming porting scenarios; unreal engine would’ve likely got the job done. and faster.
The beta release is slated for February 2021 so we’re probably looking at Christmas next year for the game’s full release, lol.
should’ve never released the game on consoles in 2020. There’s always next year, should just focus on PC first if the scale is too large for them to handle.
CDPR dropped the ball badly. the just bit off way more than they could chew.
Dropped the ball?
Let’s tell it like it is, they fu**ed up

Honestly, I dodged a bullet for not pre ordering this game while I pre ordered Witcher 3
I am quite glad i’m not far enough into this to get my save file at this point, and can apply the update before it happens.
I’m at level 37 or thereabouts in the 3rd act and my saves are already 5,9 Mb.
secret is to wait a few months then play the game after all the fixes. they been doing this sh*t in pc gaming for years. they whould just all go early access instead
Wut
Well done.
Wut 2
To be honest.
We shoud all thank CD Projekt RED for making a new IP in this day and age where every AAA sp game is a pile of sssshhhi…..

All sequles…. ( aparat from hl alyx what is a vr game)
I know its a bit buggy.
But look they never made a fps shooter before with drving and all that…..
They are dooing theyr best…
Other game companies are releasing sequales every year with the same engine same gameplay and ppl eat it i with the bugs. Cuz they are use to it.
I know it looks like i am fan boy or something but trust me…. I shlt on games the most around here if they are bad….
Is it good is it bad? I dont know but i am having a F balast playing it. And so far its in my top 3 games this year
I agree for the most part. Definitely could be less buggy and janky…that really doesn’t have anything to do with the games genre or the developers lack of FPS/driving mechanics. However, at the end of the day despite all the issues I’ve had I keep going back to the game every day just to take in more of the beautiful city (seriously ray tracing ain’t no joke!) and excellent story. Game play is solid, if not maybe a tad too simple, but still a blast. So yeah, good game, can’t knock it.
The 8mb limit on PC – Likely because they had to keep the allocated data light on the old
consoles due to memory constraints… and for PC it’s an unneeded limitation that just happened to go live and thus ruin several peoples saves… If it’s as i’m suspecting – *slow clap to CDPR*
I’ve played over 150 hours and none of my save files weren’t even close to 8mb, Even with crafting hundreds of weapons, clothes and mods.
fix dumbf*ck NPC’s and all other AI
add extracurricular activities
add sidequests that are not only “clear building”
Add more romance options
fix retarded bugs
and I might try this
There are stealing, racing, transportation, and more sidequests in there. Did you play the game?
Why (((game)))? Oh, right, you are one of those SOYcialists.
Wholesome Keanu Chungus. Use format C: to cure this aids
Game is a mess…this latest update gave me my first corrupt save and I’ve been playing since launch. Has a lot of stuff missing too the more I play that I didn’t notice at first, especially police chases which I honestly just noticed that this game has none. A lot of features and systems are faulty, lacking, or non-existent…but you know what? I still really love the game. The graphics are amazing (and I’m a graphics kinda guy), the cities design and detail makes it feel almost real and has phenomenal architecture…yes again there is a lot missing but it is well made and I’ve had a blast exploring and just looking around aimlessly. Reminds me a lot of The Division in this respect.
So yeah…it still needs a lot of work for sure and I’d love for them to ADD more to the game as well but so far I’m still really enjoying the game that we have. I will say this though, the story lines, characters, and missions have been top quality and have been a lot of fun.
