Codemasters Responds To F1 2015 Reports – Is Already Aware Of Some Issues, Working On Fixing Them [UPDATE]

F1 2015 and a number of users have reported various performance issues. We can confirm that SLI support is missing (though for that we have to blame NVIDIA and not Codemasters), however we have not experienced any inconsistent performance, controller issues or resolutions reverting back to 1024×768 or 800×600. Oh, and in case you’re wondering then no; F1 2015 is not as broken as Batman: Arkham Knight.

Still, Codemasters felt the need to respond to those reports and claimed that it is currently working on fixing some of those issues.

As Codemaster’s Community Manager wrote on Reddit:

“Hey everyone, just wanted to hop in and say we’re aware of a lot of the issues users are facing at the moment and the team are working on getting a lot of these bugs squashed as fast as possible.

As always we really do appreciate your feedback and patience with us while we get these sorted.”

Given the fact that we have not experienced any major performance issues with F1 2015, we’ll be sharing our PC Performance Analysis later this weekend.

UPDATE

Codemasters has released a day-one patch for F1 2015 (which is probably why we have not experienced any major issues with this game). This patch will be auto-downloaded and you can view its complete changelog below.

-Flashback and the Instant Replay Flashback causes game to crash to desktop
-Instant Replay – The game is crashing when entering an instant replay in all game modes
-Backing out from a lobby in which you were a Client and Hosting a new Lobby will result in you not having Host Options for your new Lobby
-Fuel info resets every time you cross the start/finish line
-Out of box settings appear to be too high on onboard Intel GPUs
-Graphics options do not save in certain situations
-When a player collides before or after resetting to track, they get disqualified.
-Clipping on the nose camera on the Manor car
-Game crashes after running benchmark
-Tyre wear carries over from short qualifying to race between intermediate & option tyres
-Hang occurs when host backs out of Custom Lobby just before countdown finishes and loading begins.
-Multiplayer qualifying result inconsistent across players
-Backing out of a Lobby on 0 seconds of the countdown timer can result in a Hang if the player then creates and leaves a Custom Session.
-Host will perpetually load after quitting game via front end after getting terminal damage in multiple races in custom lobby.

  1. I expect a small amount of bugs from Codemasters, but this release is unplayable! get it fixed, boys!

  2. Can definitely see this becoming more and more of a problem with games coming out later on in the year and sadly devs will just “apologize”

What still doesn’t make sense is PC release make a profit yet releases are always second rate, so does this come down to console fan boy developers or Profiteering Console manufactures which basically is a conspiracy if they don’t consider PC as competition and I highly doubt they can use the Console = 1 specs and PC = Infinity since they’re are labs out there that have sooo many configs aswell as Nvidia and AMD, so really it’s one of the world’s greatest mysteries why there’s soo much profit but no respect and from Codies whom are actually doing well with Dirt Rally and soo much experience on PC to mess up so badly.

Only dev I see that never really has issues is Nixxes, so as a PC porting studio what are they doing right that Countless dev’s are in fact doing so wrong?

    1. Sometimes these bugs just crop up because of the highly varied amount of hardware that’s in use. For example I bought a 5.1 surround sound headset that hooks up to the PC via USB port and I have found a few games which don’t like it. One game “Deadly Premonition” gets all confused between the headset and the controller and a few others have some glitches. Thankfully for me it works 99.99% of the time.

Also sometimes developers chance their luck as no one owns PC so there is no one prodding at them with a stick telling them to fix their game or we won’t let you launch it.

  3. Devs should ALWAYS focus on releasing a pc version first . Very optimized and not downgraded and then, after a successful launch, port the game to ultra low pc, AKA, consoles…
Its madness to do it the other way around…

  4. “however we have not experienced any inconsistent performance, controller

Are you still gaming in 2001?

If you have to ‘revert back’ to bloody 1024×768 or 800×600, then the game IS broken as Arkham Knight. FFS.
