Capcom adds official Steam Mods Workshop to Monster Hunter World PC

Although Capcom does not have any plans to release a Level Editor for Monster Hunter World, it appears that the game will be open to mods. The development team has just added an official Steam Mods Workshop section to the PC version, via which modders will be able to share their mods.

Our guess is that the game will allow model switches, similar to those we’ve seen in Final Fantasy XV and other titles. We also expect some Reshade mods to hit the Internet immediately, and we hope for some HD quality texture packs (as the current textures of Monster Hunter World as not as crisp as we’d hoped).

Again, nothing of this has been confirmed yet and we are simply speculating. And while Monster Hunter World will be using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech, we’ve seen numerous mods for other games using it (like Just Cause 3 and Batman: Arkham Knight).

Monster Hunter World releases on August 9th on the PC!

  1. The link doesnt work anymore, pretty sure it was a mistake from them. They pressed the wrong button.

  2. This game is a complete failure in the making on PC.

    – Horrible textures (check)
    – Overrated visuals (check)
    – Massive performance issues (check)
    – Denuvo (check)
    – An army of drones defending this lazy port (check)

Can’t wait to read all the salty posts on the Steam forums on launch: “My game is lagging, can someone help?” or “GTX 1070 dropping below 60fps on high settings in 1080p wtf!?”

    1. I had a friend try to justify the games poor performance by saying “It does loads of stuff with AI that other games don’t do.” I don’t get how he thinks that, when most games have the same AI functions or similar, some even vastly more complex.

  3. “And while Monster Hunter World will be using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech”
Why mention this? Anyone who still believes Denuvo games can’t be modded clearly doesn’t know how modding works.
Have a look at Frosbite Games like Mass Effect, FIFA, Dragon Age with Denuvo which have mods.
So far the only limitation is we can’t add entries, only edit (then again this has nothing to do with Denuvo).
