Call of Duty Warzone surpasses 75 million players on all platforms

Activision has announced that Call of Duty Warzone now has over 75 million players on all platforms. Call of Duty Warzone is a free to play Battle Royale COD game that has been received positively by a lot of players.

The last COD Warzone report was back in May 2020. As such, Call of Duty Warzone was able to attract over 15 million more players in around 2-3 months.

Moreover, Activision stated that Call of Duty Modern Warfare’s premium sales were the highest during Q2 2020 compared to any other outside of launch quarter in Call of Duty’s history. So yeah, MTX are again beneficial for yet another triple-A game. Furthermore, and on PC, life-to-date consumption is more than double that of the prior title.

Activision has also re-affirmed that a new Call of Duty game will come out this year. COD 2020, which may be called Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, is being developed by Treyarch and Raven Software.

Lastly, Infinity Ward plans to release Season 5 for both Call of Duty Warzone and Modern Warfare later today. This update will bring new maps, weapons and a new MP mode. Below you can also find a trailer for it.

  1. Listen to that song. What a great song. It really makes me feel better about the new generation. It doesn’t make me depressed at all. I love that people who are selected based on pushing the dumbest things are being selected to push products and record labels. This is great.

  2. I’m thinking of creating a Battle Royale. It’s about 18-25 people jumping out of a plane and whoever takes a Schitt on the toilet first wins. But must complete a fully clean wipe in order to claim victory. I only have a working title so far, nothing ‘solid’ yet. Call of Dootie Sh*tzone

      1. Dude, I made you laugh. Good enough for me man. Now i’m obligated to make this game. Off to programming bootcamp I go. ?

  3. 75 million players? Don’t you mean, 75 million lemmings?

Slowly destroying an entire industry in the name of profits, by flooding it with throw-away, forgettable garbage like “Call of Duty – Warzone”, is hardly what I would call the intelligent thing to do, but, it is the greedy thing to do.

Throw quality and creativity to the dogs, there’s MUNNY to be made!

  4. 1 – It’s free
    2 – It’s BR trash
3 – All the kids have nothing to do since 6 months….

    Sooo no surprise here……..

  5. Its a real pity, and a very sad state of affairs in the gaming industry. I don’t blame the Developers/publishers for this move though. It is this younger generation of Gamers who are ready to jump on this BR/MP/online bandwagon and hype !

And its an easy cash grab for developers, since these games are going to sell like hot cakes, and they are indeed selling ! But seriously, I don’t get this trend in the Gaming community.

What fun is there in playing a Battle Royale Game ? I mean these games lack single player content, along with any story, and they also lack any suspense/drama and immersion. So what makes gamers to jump on this BR/online bandwagon. ?

Single Player games are being ignored for the most part these days by most of the game devs, if not all.
