Call of Duty: Warzone is most likely COD: MW’s Battle Royale mode, may be a free standalone game

A couple of days ago, Activision teased the Battle Royale mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. And from the looks of it, this BR mode will be called Call of Duty: Warzone. Not only that, but according to the latest rumours, COD: Warzone will be a free standalone game.

Let’s start with the title. A key art for Call of Duty: Warzone surfaced earlier yesterday on Reddit. According to a number of sources, this key art is legit. There is a possibility that this is fake, however – and from what we’ve heard so far – it appears to be legit.

Moreover, it appears that Call of Duty: Warzone will be a free to play standalone game. This basically means that even those that do not own Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be able to play COD: Warzone.

Do note that this has not been confirmed as of yet, so take the “free to play” part with a grain of salt. At least for now. In my opinion, this is a clever move that will bring more players to the game. On the other hand, it’s the complete opposite of what Battlefield 5 and COD: Black Ops 4 did with their BR modes. So yeah, take it with a grain of salt. There is also no word on whether there will be cross-play support between different platforms.

We expect Activision and Infinity Ward to officially reveal Call of Duty: Warzone soon, so stay tuned for more!

    1. Like Destiny that was going to be supported “for a decade” right?
Retards will fall for these companies lies everytime, a sucker is born every minute after all.

    2. It still is supported, but since nobody plays it, nobody can match a game. After Alcatraz, all the updates were worthless and nobody cared to give it a try that was anybody worth playing with.

  1. I am excited, I loved the Blackout mode, personally, and have many fond memories. At least it ran properly and was not full of hackers like other BR’s. If only they never started to think that adding more zones and game-play modes would help the game survive, all it did was divide the already small player base to the point of no opportunity to match make.

  2. CODMW was not nearly as epic as the original MW was but it is every bit as self-aware. it knows what it wants to be, a more gritty tactical COD, and succeeds in doing so. despite a brilliant SP, the spec ops is a soul-less filler. if that is any indication of the gameplay quality we are gonna get for the BR (because of its large scale), I think it is safe to assume it will fail.

    these fads must die
