It appears that Call of Duty, including everything in the COD HQ like Modern Warfare 2, Warzone and Black Ops 6, is completely broken on PC. For the past hour, PC gamers are unable to even get to the main menu as the game will constantly crash to desktop.
So here is the deal. After a long day, I’ve decided to resume my progress in the single-player campaign of Black Ops 6. As I’ve said, you can only launch Black Ops 6 via COD HQ. However, the game will hang up at the “Loading playerstats” screen and after five minutes, it will crash to desktop.
We are not the only ones experiencing this issue. A lot of PC gamers on Steam have reported the exact same thing. So, in a nutshell, Call of Duty is completely broken on PC as we speak. And no. If you have those crashes, know that you are not alone.
What’s more crazy here is that the devs have not commented yet on these issues. Right now, both Activision and Treyarch act like nothing has happened. So, there is a chance PC gamers may not be able to play this game for the entire weekend.
I also don’t know whether these issues are exclusive to the PC. I’ve heard some console gamers facing similar issues. Still, it’s not clear whether this is something that only affects the PC or all platforms.
This is exactly why Treyarch should have used a separate executable file for the single-player campaign of Black Ops 6. Due to these connectivity issues, you cannot play a single-player game. Again, this is one of the most anti-consumer practices I’ve seen. It’s also one of the few instances I wished someone had cracked the game.
I mean, let this sink in. We are at a point where someone who has purchased the game wishes for someone to crack it so that he can actually play it. At this point, it makes more sense for me to open YouTube and watch a “movie” of the campaign. At least I’ll have watched it by the end of the weekend.
To be honest, if it wasn’t my job, I wouldn’t have purchased Black Ops 6. And although I always had a soft spot for its campaign, I feel like the devs and the publisher have done everything in their power to turn me away from it. So, great job Treyarch. But hey, who cares. The game has sold well so Treyarch and Activision will not learn anything at all from this whole mess. Instead, they’ll keep milking their golden cow!

Treyarch has fixed this issue and you can now log into the COD HQ. However, I’ve already seen a playthrough of the campaign on YouTube. So, thanks but no thanks Treyarch.

if your on an AMD gfx card, try going to the adrenalin software panel, go to gaming tab, and then the graphics sub tab, scroll down and clear shader cache, this worked for me when I was getting stuck at the loading player stats screen

While I understand Black Ops 6 had 4 years of development and launches with the most content of any CoD game, the fact the base game costs 80$/€ is asinine. They didn't get the memo AAA was only meant to increase to 70 $/€.
And no RT again, 4 years in a row.
I don't even rage anymore if games are broken at release. I've seen it too many times. My fuse is done.
I've changed my concept of "Release Date" to "ok, a counter begins and I'll wait at least 6 months until it's somewhat fixed and has had a rough sanding and is on sale to see if i still care." Which i won't for COD.

This has been the norm for a long time, MW3 also suffers from this crashing. I was literally playing the game just now and my game just froze and went back to desktop like i wasnt even playing anything at all. I have the Game Pass version so its not just Steam, its a COD thing and always has been, if you have a comments online people have always been complaining about this, i believe the COD HQ thing is garbage. Tho i have found if you look into your COD game folder, delete the shader folder and let it reinitialise when you load up it seems to work for quite some time before the issue will come back but i shouldnt have to keep doing this.
I now cant play call of duty modern warfare 3 now without putting stean on admin mode and the amount of guns not shooting and the hit acuraccy is gone im 55 and rememer the days vote to kick make your rules make your own maps choose your servers i have had every game.
I did not buy Bo4 or Mw3 my daughtr bought them for me no single player on B04 and modern warefare 3 was crap.
I wont buy Black ops 6 as we pc players are getting screwed with console prices we pay much more for are setups and at 70 quid fthat it is pure scamming.
You looked up a video of the campaign instead of experiencing it yourself, just because the game wasn't working for a day. How about finding something else to do for a while, like touching grass or your gf, visiting friends/family. Or maybe, just play something else?
