Gearbox has released a new video in which Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox Software and Tony Lawrence, general manager of 2K Australia introduce us to the next standalone AAA Borderlands game – Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. This new Borderlands game is planned for release this Fall on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel tells the story of how Jack came to become the villain of Borderlands 2, with you helping his (initially well-meaning) rise to eventual super-villainy.
According to its description, the game takes place between the original Borderlands and Borderlands 2, and will give players a whole lotta new gameplay featuring the genre fusion of shooter and RPG gameplay that this series is best known for.
The game will be powered by the same engine, though we don’t know whether this time Nvidia will implement any specific PhysX features.
Enjoy!

I hope there will be PhysX minimal as good as it was implemented in Borderlands 2. 🙂 It made game significant better.
Stop milking this game damn it
There are only 2 games in the series so far man. But I will agree that the DLCs were milked.
really? really? 2 games thats your argument? They have basicly added enough content in the dlcs to reach 300 of gameplay when all games are combined, it makes you wonder if people actually buy those dlcs and how many people will buy this and borderlands 3.
According to reserach gamers dont really finish games, so the likes of gearbox basicly make a quick buck thanks to hype, personally i have put so much time in those 2 games and dlcs that i feel like i have played 8-9 borderlands games, i will be very suprised if there are people who played all the dlcs and both games and STILL want to keep playing.
If you put so much time into the game, why are you complaining? And yes I said that the DLCs are milked.
Well, the fact that he put so much hours into the game, makes his complaint even more relevant.
I mean that if he put so much time into the game, he obviously enjoyed the crap out it. So if he enjoyed it so much, why would he be against it that they are releasing more content?
Because sometimes it can naturally become tiresome (or exploitative, since it’s the game industry we talking about here xD).
If it becomes tiresome, then don’t you think he should just not play the game?
Because that’s not the way things are going to get better. The devs must be convinced that they need to come up with better/new things. Let’s say everyone decide that they won’t buy it and the game fails, the Publisher will see it as a non profitable and will end up killing the game/franchise. BUT the problem is, today they go for the other extreme wich is, releasing the same material over and over (sequel, prequel, DLCs and etc).
It’s not that things don’t deserve attention (from devs, publishers or public) it’s just the fact that it became too bloody saturated. Games can have a longer lifespan and support, but they also needs a break, it needs renovation, creativity, if not it just will end badly.
Their story dlc packs were done well but the head hunter packs were what really killed it , it seemed the devs wanted to drag the game on till ths Pre-sequel , since the last head hunter isn’t out yet it fits nicely into the hype they are now building.
This game seems to keep the formulae which is always great aslong as you add to it and not change it , although if 2K Aussie make a success of this I think we’ll see much more games in the series.Wonder though of the vita port of BL2 will influence anything?.
exactly and then they kill the franchise due to low sales and whine about it.
Its gearbox we talk here they havent just milked borderlands, they have made enough content to supply the future generations and do nothing else whatsoever, when borderlands sales dry up gearbox will be in trouble due to lack of ips.
Because they milking it with minimal diffirencies/improvements they will basicly bury the ip due to gamers getting tired of it and then whine about low sales.
Still need to finish the main campaign (I think I´m pretty close to the end) and then all DLC´s from Borderlands 2.
I expected to see a better new version of the game (you know for the new consoles and PC) with some crazy graphics advancements but nope…for PS3, XBox360 and PC…So it will be basically the same as B2 graphically speaking.
You may like the sense of humour, the story, the characters and all the crazy stuff you could do (though I hated when they removed the gore -heads exploding and such like in the first one-)…the graphics aspect of it is cool but it gets old quite fast if they don´t change anything.
This game sounds more like a money grabber to make Borderlands 3 for the new consoles. It looks like a long DLC more than a full game. Kinda like Saints Row IV was.
Not excited but sure I´ll get it when it gets cheaper as I did with the other 2 games waiting for GOTY versions.
Releasing a AAA game for only last gen still a year after the current gen was released? That’s just stupid and will make people not buy the new consoles and the industry is running circles on development with the ancient hardware.
Hoping for the following: Better gunplay with guns that feel
dangerous, less bulletsponge enemies that feel boring to kill,
less stupid design like the butterfly sights, a better UI that doesn’t
try to be 4manydimensions6u, less le meme humour, removal of the
annoying woman who guides you, making containers less frequent but a
bigger deal ie not having 300 shoeboxes with 3 dollars in them in every
room.
Also a dog companion and more random weapon properties, BL2s
system of every manufacturer having its own niche wasn’t very cool imo.
And less DLC perhaps
What I want
Character customization
More than 1 active skill
Less of their “humor”, I didn’t find it funny
No bullet sponges, just actually make the game difficult instead of bullet sponges
Have actual locations on the different areas you can visit instead of a huge sandbox with only enemies and loot
Make the classes actually feel different instead of just having 1 kill that makes them special
More mission types instead of “go here, kill this, come back”
I could go on and on but those are the main things I want changed.
