Bethesda has confirmed that it is working on official remasters for Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. Right now, there is no ETA for when they will come out. However, it’s been confirmed, and it’s now official. Bethesda will release remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.
As the publisher has stated, these remasters have been in development for a while. However, there is no ETA for when they will be released.
As Bethesda stated:
“We also know many players want to revisit previous Fallout experiences. While we’re not announcing any dates today, we have been working on remasters for both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.”
And that’s not all. Bethesda stated that it has collaborated with Obsidian for a new Fallout game. Sadly, we don’t have any additional details about this Fallout game. We do know, though, that it won’t be Fallout 5.
Bethesda claimed that its own teams are working on The Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5. Moreover, it reconfirmed that these two games will use Creation Engine 3.
Fallout 5 is currently in preproduction. So, don’t expect to be playing it anytime soon. Right now, The Elder Scrolls VI is Bethesda’s primary development focus as the majority of its team is currently working on it.
And that’s all we know for now. It is great to finally have official confirmation that remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are on the way.
My guess is that these remasters will be similar to Oblivion Remastered. If that is the case, the biggest changes will likely be visual improvements rather than major gameplay updates.
I also would not be surprised if both games use Unreal Engine 5, just as Oblivion Remastered did. Hopefully, the team behind these remasters will deliver a more polished PC version with fewer technical issues.
Stay tuned for more!
