AMD will release its Ryzen CPUs on March 2nd, and below you can find the first gaming benchmarks. YouTube’s ‘Jarred Walton’ has captured footage from AMD’s Ryzen event, showing AMD Ryzen 7 1800X against Intel i7-6800K and i7-6900K.
The first video shows Battlefield 1 in which the AMD Ryzen 7 1800X runs faster – by around 5 frames – than the Intel i7-6800K.
In the second video, we see the AMD Ryzen 7 1800X running Sniper Elite 4 faster than the Intel i7-6900K.
The first system featured two Titan X in SLI, while the second system featured two AMD Radeon RX480 in Crossfire. As such, there wasn’t any GPU limitation in both of these games.
These first gaming benchmarks show what we all pretty much thought; AMD’s Ryzen CPUs appear to be able to match – and even surpass – Intel’s high-end CPUs at lower prices.
As we’ve already said, the embargo for the third-party benchmarks will be lifted on March 2nd, so stay tuned for more!

Don’t believe it till I see thirdparty benchmarks with overclocks, since they are the reason anyone buys a K CPU in the first place
Looks like Ryzen has just taken the world record for cinebench under ln2. http://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-7-1800x-world-record
good.
Will the ryzen require a whole new motherboard? Or will they fit on the x99 motherboards like the i7 chips?
Ryzen requires an AM4 board.
Thanks for the information. I was thinking it was just a quick swap out.
based on your ridiculous question, you have no business even touching a pc.
Why do you have to be so toxic?
thanks!
first off intel is a different platform entirely also i7 chips arent all x99. some of them are z170, z270, z97, etc. amd and intel chips dont share platforms, never have, never will
Thanks for the clarification. So I would need to get a new build…. I was hoping I could just swap out chips. Maybe they can bring down some of those prices finally. Or give us a reason to upgrade.
not to be a jerk but what would give you such an odd idea that you can just swap cpus like that?
I didnt know the size of the chip, thought they would make it the same size as the x99
I’m assuming you don’t know PC hardware much?
he has to be joking or on an unmatched level of stupidity .
I have only built a few computers in my life. They have been in the past 5 years and they were both on X99 mobo

LMAO you made me spit out my coffee.
You’ll definitely need a new mobo, and new ram. It’s an entirely new platform.
Thanks for the info
Stupid vids…. Let’s wait for Gamer Nexus and DigitalFoundry to do some extensive benchmarks.
If you want unbiased reviews you’ll stay away from Gamer Nexus and DF.
Any evidence??Or just wild unfounded accusations?
Evidence? Do you even know what BIAS means?
Evidence itself is in the articles themselves, you need proper IT knowledge and be open minded in order to see that though.
Gamer Nexus is gahbage.
What is a good, high quality alternative that you are in no part affiliated with? You know, since we’re being constructive.
I’m not Google. Go find one for yourself.
I thought I’d ask. Sounded like you knew one.
He seemingly doesn’t.
It’s about time. We need to break the monopoly choke-hold that Intel has us all in.
They have intel on all of us.
It appears the days from the Athlon XP era are back. I only hope Intel does lower it’s prices, and doesn’t resort to paying retailers not to sell AMD CPUs as they did in response to the A64.
That was something they could literally only get away with once. Once they were found out, they paid for it. That did do serious damage to AMD, in limiting R&D resources that put them so far behind. That and the compiler cheat for benchmarking programs. Those types of shenanigans are why I generally refuse to give certain companies my money. I eventually had to give in and got the 4790K, but otherwise Intel, Nvidia, and especially Apple don’t see my dollars.
I’ve worked in IT for ~15 years, my issues with Apple are deeply rooted. Their fans don’t seem to understand the concept of anti-consumer.
Apple fans are indeed quite braindead, most their consumers are Millennials for a reason, one of the biggest waves of degenerated human beings ever conceived.
Completely against FTC regulations, which is why they ended up paying a bunch of money to AMD after the fact. They did the damage they wanted to at the time though, so it really didn’t matter to Intel much.
Yup, they had to pay 1.4 billion recently.

*AMD 64 era
Pre orders over here are up
1800X, 800+ Trump Greenbacks over here.
R7 1700 at around 500+
This is so much better than I expected.
Dear Santa, I know it is only February, but c’mon, I’ve quit booze, how about receiving something in advance? (°?° )
460 euros 1700X here in greece so far
Can’t you buy from Amazon? I got my 1070 for around U$S 450, and here in Uruguay it was at U$S 690. It took three weeks to arrive. Uruguay is tiny I know, once it hits Montevideo it reaches any part of the country in less than 6 hours 😛
I could, and it is convenient that they already include the taxes when you buy, even then still, the price difference between the taxes and the middle man around here isn’t that big.
We will always get knobbed.
The alternative is having loads of gift cards or use a service to redirect the shipment buuuut there still the risk of being taxed at customs.
TAXES, TAXES AND MORE TAXES, F*CKING BS COUNTRY GODDAMMIT.
PROTECTIONISM MY A*S!
Welcome back AMD, it’s been so long old friend.
I love the Sniper Elite 4 vid. Judging performance from static not moving images. What a waste of space this guy is.
Jarred Walton? isn’t that anandtech guy?
so how this Ryzen going to fare against the likes of 7700K?
ok but since iam keeping my 970 how games will run compared to titan x sli?
So Intel hasn’t changed architecture since Haswell and A Whole New Ryzen Architecture gives whooping 5 fps lead? lol
Come on AMD!!!!!!! Let’s bring that performance to price hammer down on Intels price gouging a*s…
These vids are show nothing! I’m extremely excited about Ryzen but this is just BS posting by DSGO.
those 2 games have awesome multicores scaling, im more interested in the games that only use 2-4 cores or even others like forza horizon 3 that rape one core
“These first gaming benchmarks show what we all pretty much thought;
AMD’s Ryzen CPUs appear to be able to match – and even surpass – Intel’s
high-end CPUs”
A sense of perspective needs to be applied here due to the two games in question having very likely been cherry-picked by AMD. I’m not seeking to rain on the parade but before rushing to those kind of judgements we need to be seeing gaming benchmarks from a wide variety of games tested in environments not controlled by AMD.
“the embargo for the third-party benchmarks will be lifted on March 2nd”
That’ll be something to look forward. Particularly that of how well the 1700 and 1700X compare to 6700K/7700K plus how well Ryzen overclocks and what its thermals are like when overclocked.
I will believe these benchmarks when they will come from independent sources… sounds too good to be true…
Also how will it compare to 10nm Canonlake which Intel is releasing this year, 6900k is an older cpu already..
I hope AMD sticks it to Intel – The Gouger.
