Alien Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition feature

Alien: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition is coming to Steam on September 30th for non-VR gamers

Remember the VR Alien game, Alien Rogue Incursion? Well, Survios has decided to do what Valve did not do with Half-Life: Alyx, and release a non-VR version of it.

Alien: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition is coming to PC via Steam on September 30th. According to the devs, the non-VR version will feature even deadlier Xenomorphs and enhanced visuals. Survios stated that it will share more details soon. Until then, we can take a look at its first trailer.

The game takes place in the world of the Alien movies. You play as Zula Hendricks, a rogue Colonial Marine on a mission to the planet Purdan (LV-354) to find an old squadmate. But after a surprise attack, Zula and her robot partner, Davis 01, end up in a creepy and empty research base called Castor’s Cradle, run by Gemini Exoplanet Solutions.

Players will use famous weapons and tools like the Pulse Rifle and Motion Tracker to explore the dark, alien-filled base. As they search for answers, they’ll find danger hiding around every corner. Along the way, players will collect supplies, gather clues, and learn what happened to the people who once lived at the Cradle.

I’m really glad that Survios will release a non-VR version of it. And now, let’s hope that more devs will follow its example. Right now, the VR games I’d love to play are Batman: Arkham Shadow and Half-Life: Alyx. For HL: Alyx, we already have an amazing No-VR mod. It’s not perfect, but it does let you enjoy the full game.

On the other hand, there isn’t any No-VR mod for Batman: Arkham Shadow as of yet. That’s a bummer, as this seems to be a great Batman game. Also, since this is a Meta Quest 3 game, I don’t expect its devs to ever release it on non-VR devices.

Anyway, enjoy the trailer and stay tuned for more!

  1. its kinda sad vr didnt take off but in a world that everything is expensive, what do you expect?

    1. It's not about it being expensive, there are a lot of peasants who are willing to pay for consoles too.
It's about convenience, no one wants to walk around with that sh*t strapped to their face and a d*ldo up their a*s like you do.

    2. I bought a used Occulus Quest and i had a blast on HL Alyx to be honest, but then it took dust as i ended on an endless gimmick indie games that clearly don't worth the price and the effort, so i sold it.
In an industry that doesn't take any risk anymore, there's no chance VR will ever take off

      1. Isn't that the usual outcome of such "gimmicks" ? I remenber when I bought the Razer Hydra on a amaassive sale in order to play the Portal 2 mode, it was a decent experience but that was about it so not really worth the investment even when it was a lot cheaper than a VR headset.

I agree that the industry these days is too safe, but tbh taking a big risk in a VR game is too unrealistic imo. Too high of a entry price point and too low of a user base to justify exclusive development of something big to it. Normally i would say maybe in the future when prices are down, but the way things are going mayybe that won't be the case lol.

      2. This is a sentiment that I hear often. It's like saying Steam sucks because there is just too many Unity asset flip games. It's true there is too many, but there are so many different amazing experiences that you just need to look a little bit closer, watch some VR streamers (me cough cough) and they'll showcase hundreds of incredible amazing games in VR that aren't just trash.

I played The Midnight Walk last night, and it's fantastic. I'm also playing Oblivion Remastered in VR! Other amazing games that are just as good as something like Alyx; Behemoth, Subnautica, Batman Arkham Shadow, Subside, AC Nexus, All the DOOM and Quake games… the list goes on and on. VR is still early on. It hasn't even been out for a decade and those early headsets cost a lot and it was still insanely hard to implement. Give it time, don't write it off, and try some of the stuff I talked about, I guarantee you, that you'll find yourself falling in love with VR and it being the only way you want to play a game.

        1. I get what you(re talking about, i’m clearly not done with VR, i just hope that things will get better by the time i get back to it

  2. Just give me alien isolation 2 and avp remake.
Can these devs give up on VR already? no one gives a fck about that weak useless trash.

    1. As long as Valve doesn't go bankrupt (fat chance), VR is here to stay.

Not because of games, mind you, but because once people discover the endless ocean of VR pr0n, there's no going back…

    2. Dude, 1. They already are making Alien Isolation 2. They announced it in October, on the 10th anniversary. And 2. You clearly you've never played a game in VR then. It's the embodiment of what we asked for in the 80's and 90's as kids. LIVING inside the game world. Please try a good VR game and headset. It's the paradigm shift the industry has been looking for since the mid 90's with the advent of 3D gaming.

Seriously, if you hate VR you clearly have never tried real VR (not that garbage google cardboard trash, that really wasn't real VR and did so much to damage the reputation). Try real VR and you'd be blown away by how incredible being in the game world is. I just streamed 3 hours of The Midnight Walk last night, and it's so insanely gorgeous in VR. Its unlike anything you've ever experienced.

      1. Have you tried a real big black c*ck in your a*s yet? It's the real deal, stop hating on it before you try it for real.
Not only getting fcked in the a*s was the dream of vast majority of straight dudes since ancient times but it's also what the world needs, so get on board while you can or you'll miss out.

  3. Games designed around VR are boring to play with kbm, that's a fact. Easy small corridors, enemies with slow reaction times and interaction mechanics that don't translate well to mouse move. I have a Rift S headset and I've tried a couple of VR games with kmb mode, it scks.

Alyx with the kbm mod is only a mediocre game with an interesting story.

  4. That's a smart move on the devs part. Let's more people play it and makes more money for them.

lets face it guys, VR is never going to be more than just a niche/gimmick in gaming. No one wants to stand up and move around while gaming doe long periods of time. Gaming is always been a leisure thing, you chill and play games.
