It appears that today is not a good day for Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment. A fully playable PC build for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 has been leaked online, almost two months before the game’s official release.
From what we know, this PC build is fully playable from the get-go. In other words, you won’t have to compile anything. This PC build is around 75GB in size, and it allows you to play the entire single-player campaign mode.
To prove that this PC build is actually real, YouTube’s ‘Skrum’ shared the following video. This video shows off 15 minutes of gameplay from it. This is also never-before-seen footage. So yes, this is the real deal.
The YouTuber has also shared the PC graphics settings. Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 will be powered by Saber Interactive’s proprietary engine. This engine was also used in World War Z which ran extremely well on PC. From what we can see, this pre-release build does not support NVIDIA DLSS or AMD FSR.
PC gamers will be able to adjust the quality of Details, Post-Processing, Shadows, Lighting, Effects, Textures and Cloths Physics. As you will see, the final version will have images to showcase these effects (in this build, they are just placeholders). There is also a Framerate Limiter that can let you set the framerate to 30fps, 60fps, 120fps or unlimited.
Since this is a pre-release build, it might have some visual glitches and placeholders. It may also lack some performance optimizations. So, don’t judge the game based on the following video. Still, this is a huge leak.
To capture this gameplay footage, the YouTuber used an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, and ran the game at 1080p on High Settings. Sadly, he did not include any performance overlay, so we can’t be sure about the performance. The video is choppy but this could be due to encoding issues (as it also appears to be of low quality).
I expect Focus Entertainment to take this video down in the blink of an eye. Thus, you should watch it while it’s still live.
Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 will be released on September 9th. And, for those wondering, we still don’t have the game’s official PC system requirements.
Stay tuned for more!

Too late, both vids are down.

LOL. They not only took down the video, but also got the YT account banned. How does a game like this "leak?" Disgruntled ex employee? Reminds me of back when early build of Crysis 2 leaked.
Note that this game is being developed in Russia.
Game development studios based on these post-SovietUnion states have a clear tendency for leakage.
Of course, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. being the prime example.
AFAIR, Painkiller and Heroes of Might & Magic V also had leaks.
And in case you didn't know, CryTek has close relationships with Russian developers, which is the reason why the Crysis Remaster was handled by Saber Interactive.
Nice, at least it's not a chernobyl leak, so keep it leaking…
Thanks for bringing the development studio location to my attention. This game is now taken off my "to purchase" list.
That picture for the article reminds me of Gears of War 2
the more i see about this game, the less i care.
Blood splatter for melee hits is exaggerated; it should not be on the same level as a bolt rifle.
It feels like you're shooting generic enemies over and over. It doesn't make you feel like a space marine. I hope it does well enough for an ork dlc at least.
"Rolling around like a priск" © (Mack from Worth a Buy) is especially funny considering the protagonist has a heavy metal suit on him.
They could've swapped this generic animation with sliding to the side using some jet engines or something. It still would be a stretch but more believable anyway.
Such is the state of gaming. Shame.
He rolled like that in the first space marine game as well.
So we don't improve on anything then?
"From what we can see, this pre-release build does not support NVIDIA DLSS or AMD FSR."
Real vanilla version, then. Now they'll put the mandatory fake pixel generator as a default feature.
But the thing looks less and less desirable anyway.
At least some drops of water in this how summer!
ARRRR…. time to plunder fellow mates, hoist the color up high
