The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered feature

This mod adds a challenging survival layer to Oblivion Remastered, with features like hunger, thirst, and fatigue

Modder ‘fuzzylogic217’ has made a cool new mod for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. This mod adds survival features like hunger, thirst, and tiredness. It makes the game more challenging and fun. If you want a more realistic experience, this is a great mod to try. Let’s check out what it does.

The Bees Needs – W.A.S.P. Edition makes the game more realistic and challenging. It adds a tough survival system where your character gets hungry, thirsty, and tired. If you don’t take care of these needs, your stats like strength and speed will slowly get worse. The longer you ignore them, the harder the game gets. To stay strong and focused, you’ll need to eat, drink, and sleep regularly. Survival will be now a big part of the game.

Hunger lowers your Strength, so you won’t hit as hard and can’t carry as much. You might have to choose between eating some Rat Meat or picking up that awesome loot when your bag is full. Thirst lowers your Agility, which means you’ll move slower and do less damage with ranged weapons like bows. Being tired lowers your Intelligence, making your magic weaker. If you skip meals, drinks, or sleep, the effects add up and stick around until you fix them. Eating a little or taking a short nap can help a bit, but it won’t fully fix the problem if you’ve been ignoring your needs for too long.

Penalties will get worse slowly. Even if the game runs 1000 times faster, it still takes a few real minutes of ignoring your needs to reach the lowest level. Long fast travels or jail time can speed up how quickly your needs get worse. The mod only allows 4 penalty cycles per need based on game time and never lowers your attributes below zero, even after long time skips.

Eating, drinking, and sleeping will slowly help you recover. But if you ignore your needs for too long, it will take more time and effort to feel better – just like in real life. So, only use this mod if you want Oblivion to feel more realistic. If you don’t like survival games, it’s best not to install it.

Speaking of Oblivion Remastered, here are some other cool mods for it. There is a mod that adds 43 travelers to the roads of Cyrodiil. This will make the world feel more alive.

In May 2024, we shared a mod that brings a true first-person camera to the game. This mod will immediately remind you of Trespasser. It’s a cool mod, though I can’t classify it as a must-have. So, you can skip it if you are happy with the game’s default first-person camera viewpoint.

There are also mods that bring back the game’s original colors, make lights shine farther, and give female characters their own unique walking and running animations. So, it’s a good idea to check them out.

Let’s also not forget the first 4K Texture Pack for the game. This pack improved the textures of armors, weapons, clothing, and jewelry. To upscale the vanilla textures, its creator used AI tools. As such, the new textures retained the art style of the original ones.

We also have a mod that aims to improve the behavior of all animals. Plus, the creator of the amazing HD Reworked mods for The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 has released his first mods. So, make sure to check them out.

Another must-have mod is this one. Ultra Combat UE4SS – Physical Combat Overhaul will significantly improve the game’s combat system. This mod brings to Oblivion Remastered a few modern mechanics like Perfect Dodge, Perfect Guard, and slowmo for headshots. I’ve been playing the game with this mod, and I cannot stress enough how amazing it is. With this mod, all combat encounters feel much better than before. It’s also compatible with the recent Patch 1.2. So, make sure to use it as it can greatly enhance your gaming experience.

One of the coolest mods I’ve seen is the Mad Destruction – DESTROY BUILDINGS Mod. This mod will let you destroy almost all of the game’s buildings. This isn’t a joke. Yes, there are some limitations. However, this is a mod that a lot of Oblivion fans will find cool. So, make sure to download it.

Finally, there is a mod that adds over 500+ hand-placed light sources to the Imperial City. We’ve also shared a Witcher-inspired DLC-sized Mod. So, be sure to check them out.

Have fun!

  1. Hunger, thirst and fatigue: exactly the three mechanics I have ALWAYS hated in any kind of video game.
