In 2022, modder ‘GPUnity’ released the first version of his 4K Texture Pack for Batman: Arkham Asylum. And earlier today, the modder released the final version of it. This version updates all the game’s textures to 4K. And, as you will see, the result is truly incredible.
To showcase the new 4K textures, GPUnity shared the following video. This video compares the vanilla textures with the new ones. And, similarly to Halk Hogan’s HD Texture Pack for The Witcher 3, this pack is a must for everyone who wants to replay this Batman Arkham game.
Batman: Arkham Asylum came out in 2009. As such, it’s almost 15 years old. So, by today’s standards, its textures look blurry and kind of bad. I mean, just take a look at the video. They look really bad.
And that’s where this HD Texture Pack comes in. By using it, you will be able to enjoy, once again, this classic Batman game. Yes, the controls may feel a bit dated. However, thanks to these new 4K textures, the game can still look great.
Alongside this pack, I also suggest using Asylum 4K – REMASTERED 4K Cutscenes. This mod will upscale every cutscene to 4K. As such, the game won’t look bad when it switches to those cutscenes. In total, this mod remasters 39 cutscenes. So, go ahead and download it from this link.
Speaking of the Batman: Arkham series, there is a similar HD Texture Pack for Batman: Arkham City. Created by the same modder, Arkham City Redux includes over a thousand improved and enhanced textures. Plus, it fully supports DirectX 11 and is easy to install with just one setup. This is a must for all Batman: Arkham City fans.
Finally, Batman: Arkham Knight is still a great-looking game on PC, even without mods. Batman: Arkham Knight has aged like a fine wine. Truth be told, it could benefit from a 4K Texture Pack. However, contrary to Arkham Asylum or Arkham City, the vanilla textures are not THAT blurry. Since I’ve played it recently, I can say that it looks great.
And that is that. With these mods, you can enjoy the entire Batman: Arkham trilogy on PC. I’m sure you’ve heard a lot of people praising this trilogy. And they are right to do so. The Arkham games are among the best superhero games. So yeah, I highly recommend playing them.
Enjoy!

Amazing mod for an amazing game!
The arkham games are ue3 masterpiece. Puts a lot of modern games to shame.
They're not free from stutters though. Traversal stutter at the very least still happens in those games.
I used dxvk to play the first two games a couple years back. Never experienced any stuttering whatsoever. Yeah loading time was a bit higher.
DXVK doesn't get rid of traversal stutters, only a fast enough SSD can reduce the amount but they're never gone entirely
I would say just try it. I bet you won't complain. I'm saying it because I played it. And I even play games at 30fps today on PC so I know what a simple stutter would feel like.
At 30 fps ?! What the hell is even that ? And why ?
It's just a personal preference. Sometimes I like to play games as presented in their trailers that are mostly 30fps. I use rtss and nvidia inspector settings to make 30fps smooth and it feels like I'm watching a movie with those realistic graphics. It brings that "magical illusion" whereas in 60fps or more you can tell its a game where everything feels unrealistically smooth as generated by AI.
It doesn’t look unrealistically smooth dude, it looks way more realistic at 60+ fps than 30 which feels sluggish, my god you even play FPS games like this ? Jesus Christ it’s worse than torture… Anyway no you don’t necessarily feel stutters at 30 fps, it’s the opposite that happens on most console ports where the 60 fps/unlocked framerate isn’t an optimized option and only relies on raw hardware power, a stable low framerate is often the solution to get rid of stutters and because of your absolute 30 fps madness of a preference you don’t feel Batman Akham’s stutters, DXVK doesn’t have anything to do with that and can’t resolve traversal stutters
I barely play games online. Like 2 time in 2 years or so. That too third person games and not any competitive fps. I'm mostly into single player tps. So I can control inputs at 30fps. I still believe 60fps has a lot better and responsive controls yes, but like I said, it's a personal thing I like smooth 30fps. But that doesn't mean every game I play at that framerate. Just a few exceptions that are dear to me
Tell me more about how to config that? Please. Im interested to try.
It's simple. You just have to limit fps by using RTSS framerate limiter =30 or scanline sync x/2 = -1 that should work with most games. Some games do require nvidia inspector settings but there's just really few of them.
Just disable ingame limiter and vsync force nvidia vsync and use rtss to set 30fps that's it.
Dang, I thought he was already done with it a while back. Nice to see that he went back and completed it. Not just that, but he added additional enhancements!
I replayed the game a few years back using an older version of the mod. The gameplay still holds up really well if you liked the Arkham games back in the day. I highly recommend replaying it if you've been thinking about it!
Such a fine game! those years were great for UE3! great work!
10/10 games. Asylum and City. Biggest mistake that RockSteady did was to let Paul Dini go. For those who do not know him, he wrote the original Batman The Animated Series, Batman Beyond and many other Batman projects. He also wrote the first 2 Arkham games and it shows. Reduction in quality was already felt in Arkham Knight.
That's why Suicide Squad's story was crap.
R.I.P. Kevin Conroy. There is not Batman without him.

There's no reduction in quality in Arkham Knight, only an overused Batmobile and a bad launch that was mostly addressed
Story wise it was a step down. Arkham Knight reveal was weak and the character portrait was not that good either. Story bits like how Batman resists tons of fear toxin or Joker's blood was not believable. The story had awesome moments but it does not hold a candle compared to City and Asylum.
It’s also a conclusion meaning it had to take risks and potentially fail in some portions, there is nothing more difficult for a writer than writing the ending of a story, many conclusive titles fail miserably to deliver because of that (not so much risk or too much) Arkham Knight nailed the ending of the series quite good, especially for Batman himself, there are mistakes of course but overall it was a good farewell for the series.
Asylum and City didn’t have to take such risks and therefore the writers had close to 0% chance to fail, and don’t forget, in terms of gameplay, graphics, level design, world building and scale, it surpasses its predecessors and it ended being a true Batman simulator
What? Are you a writer?
He has his right to an opinion. You don't have to be a writer to do that.
I was looking at file size the Arkham asylem Redux is 5.1gb but this new one is only 550mb so withone is better or a mix of both.
There's no Asylum Redux if i'm right, there's in fact Arkham City Redux which is 5.1gb
respect
Asylum will always be my favourite Batman game. It's grounded and not over bloated by meaningless content and Riddler trophies. I wish it had new game plus as I just finished the game again in February and I'm not too keen starting anew.
