Modder ‘R3MIND_OFFICIAL’ has shared a way via which PC gamers can enable Ray Tracing in Palworld. All you have to do is edit and change some values from the game’s configuration file. That, or you can download a modded config file.
To prove that Ray Tracing works, R3MIND_OFFICIAL shared the following comparison screenshots. And yes, from what we can see, there are some ray-traced effects. For instance, we can see better reflections and better ambient occlusion.
The modder claimed that this solution adds partial Ray Tracing effects. So, don’t expect full Ray Tracing from this tweak. There might also be some visual glitches or issues. After all, the game does not have any native Ray Tracing support. Still, this is a tweak that may interest owners of high-end GPUs.
Alongside the new RT effects, this mod also improves the quality of Global Illumination and PostFX effects. It will also force the game to use the DX12 API.
You can download this Ray Tracing Mod from this link.
In other news, Palworld has just surpassed 8 million sales. This game sells like hotcakes, so it will be interesting to see whether it will be able to hit 10 million sales.
Speaking of Palworld, we also suggest taking a look at these other mods for it. A couple of days ago, we shared a mod that enables AMD FSR 3.0 Frame Generation. Then we have this cool Spyro Mod. Praydog’s UEVR also appears to be working with Palworld, allowing you to experience it in VR. And as for the Pokemon Mod, there is currently no ETA on when – and if – it will come out. So, don’t expect a download link for it anytime soon.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

Title should be changed to “How to lower performance with minimal visual gains”, the game doesn’t even have PBR properties.
This is even worse than Software RT, I’m surprised someone who knows what real RT is, can call this RT.
You replying to the wrong person, I know exactly what RT is, and enabling a toggle in UE5 is not it.
It needs to be enabled project side and properly implemented, anyone expecting RTR out of that is naïve, since it’s a deprecated feature anyway.
You can check more over at UE5 Documentation, I only won’t post link here for my claims cause it tends to hold the comment hostage.
So, is this game any good or people are just meming to stick it to the journos and Nintendo?
It’s a survival game where you build out a base and employ your pals, which you find in the open world, to help you progress.
It’s not like Pokemon at all, the pals just look like pokemon. In Pokemon it’s all about evolving and getting attached to you pokemon, this isn’t the case in Palworld, your pals are mostly just your labour force for your camp. You can take a single pal along to adventure with, but you don’t get attached to it imo.
Palworld is an 8/10 game imo. It does a lot of thing reasonably well.
But the best thing about Palworld is simply that it is successful, and will open the floodgates for actual PC Pokemon clones, and PC Nintendo clones in general. This combined with PC handhelds finally taking off, will offer an alternative to Nintendo’s handheld monopoly.

The amount of rabid fanboying over this game is concerning, although I’m glad that a nonAAA studio can be that wildly successful.
The biggest immediate loser in this isn’t even Nintendo imo. It’s Sony, where players have neither access to Pokemon, nor Palworld. Sony went all in on $70 “cinematic experiences” that require $200 million hollywood budgets, that wasn’t going to last.
The conspiracy theory about AAA games being money laundering operations comes to mind. It is insane how Sony devs and marketers overspend on these generic games.
nah, big studio = 1k-5k workers, need huge building or even few in different countries that alone costs A LOT, big studio = usually high wage so workers are expensive, it also means more taxes etc. Then you have licences, bloated marketing and you end up with stupid unsustainable costs.
That’s why they say 2024-2025 will be years of gaming studios closing down, current AAA model is no longer sustainable.
And that is good thing, gaming needs reset like the one it had back in the day.
its surprisingly good game, its survival aspect is minimalistic and can be turned off in world settings. Its like pokemon but instead evolving pokemons you enslave them to work for you and then breed them till you get one with good perks. You also use them as transport, healers, buffers, etc.
Its well made game, gets little boring towards the end but for its price its well worth it.
Also anyone playing solo after hitting level 40 rise exp rate and capture rate in world setting as default values are broken and it would take weeks of grind to level from 40 to 41 and real capture ratio(not the one displayed drops to almost zero) its balancing issue but world setting can easily fix that,
