Modder ‘nigeez’ recently launched a new HD Texture Pack for Cyberpunk 2077. This pack makes the game look way better by swapping out the low-quality textures with much clearer and sharper ones. Do note, though, that this pack only focuses on upgrading the quality of architectural, terrain, and environment textures.
This pack comes in two versions. The 4K version has mostly 4K textures (though there are some that are 2K). It also includes 2K normal maps (though some large area ones are at 4K). Plus, it has roughness maps at 2K and microblends at 1K (with some large area blends at 2K).
Do note that this mod won’t be compatible with Cyberpunk 2077 HD Reworked. So, you’ll have to disable it to see whether this new one produces better results. Or, you can skip it. The choice is yours.
You can download these new HD textures from this link. At the end of the article, you can also find some comparison screenshots. These screenshots will give you an idea of the improvements you can expect from them. As you’ll, the new textures look amazing. So, be sure to view them.
If you’re into Cyberpunk 2077, there are some other cool mods you should check out. For instance, you can download the Enhanced Photo Mode Unlocker. There’s also a mod that allows cars to fly, a mod that can significantly improve the game’s draw distance, and other mods that can open up new areas to explore. Oh, and don’t forget these mods that allow you to play as Ciri from The Witcher 3.
Additionally, there’s a mod that adds realistic ragdoll physics to finishing moves. Plus, Law Enforcement Overhaul is a mod that enhances the game’s Police System. And there’s even a mod that integrates the OpenAI API which enables ChatGPT support. There is also this mod that fixes the game’s broken Ray Tracing Reflections. And finally, this mod restores 100 NPCs that were cut from the game.
Have fun!

can someone explain me what 1K and 2K means in this mod?
2K is 1080p so 1K would be like less than 720p
who plays with such low resolutions? im so confused
or did the mod creator accidentally misused the 2K term for 1440p and thinks 1K would be 1080p?

2k is rereferring to 1440p.
No, it has nothing to do with screen resolution, it’s the texture resolution.
smh
Creator Nigeez makes it so that Negus is confused.
It has nothing to do with screen resolution.
Normally I would dispute 2k being 1080p but your wikipedia link just confuses it more so idk. For me it’s the pixels, 1920×1080=2,073,600 pixels which to me is 1k, FHD, full HD. HD=720p. So 2k=1440×2560=3,686,400,which isn’t 2x1k so it doesn’t work there either. 4k=3840×2160=8,290,400 which isn’t 2x 2k so idk this is all pretty confusing tbh. From what I can find 2k is actually 2.5k QHD. I guess all we can say is that everyone agrees that 4k=3840×2160. I’d put a link to a reddit here but then it would need “approval” which takes at least an hour so I’ll just say lookup the reddit titled:
“Why is 1440p sometimes referred to as 2K?” seems to have some good info there.
Monitor resolutions are defined by the number of horizontal pixels (the one on the left). 1080p is closer to 2K because of 1920 horizontal pixels.
1440p is indeed 2.5K, but no one uses it because 1440p isn’t considered ‘standard’ resolution—you won’t find a 1440p TV for example. Its existence is merely to fill the gap between 1080p and 2160p.
4K is pretty obvious (3840 pixels). But it’s actually not the standard because it should be 4096 pixels, however, the 16:9 aspect ratio eats those 256 pixels.
Textures use pixels as measurement units just like monitor resolutions. However, unlike resolutions it’s uniform. Meaning it goes 1×1, 2×2, etc. (or as an equation: 2ⁿ where n = 0 to infinity). So 1K is 1024×1024. 2K is 2048×2048. 4K is 4096×4096 and so on. That’s because a texture is basically a square image.
Modern games (PS4/Xbox One generation and up) keep using 1K as standard ‘high quality texture resolution’ because it provides the best balance between visual quality and size. When you increase the texture resolution, it bloats the size and subsequently consumes more VRAM. Note that double the resolution quadruples the size.
Also, contrary to popular belief, texture resolution and monitor resolution aren’t related. You don’t need a 4K monitor to use and see 4K textures. Environment artists use various texture resolutions within the same scene depending on the object’s geometry, its size on screen, its distance relative to the player (can the player look closely or not) and its importance in the overall image.
For example, the player gets in an alleyway during a gameplay sequence. The walls of the alleyway are important since they make the majority of the screen (the player will look and notice them) so high resolution textures are used (nowadays it’s 2K). The dumpster at the end of the alleyway is far away from where the player should go thus it’s not as important and a 1K or even a 512×512 texture is enough. Simply, It all depends on the pixel budget allowed for each artist.
This is why Skyrim Texture packs are notoriously hungry for VRAM. The modders slap 4K textures on everything big and small throwing performance out the window for the sake of visual ‘crispness.’
Kind of.
Textures are mapped to 3D models in a number of different ways. Unique textures map 1:1 with the underlying geometry. Tileable and trim textures are “repeated” across parts of the mesh, potentially many times, allowing for a considerably higher perceived resolution.
The amount of pixels per physical unit, known as Texel Density, is thus the only meaningful metric. A 4Mx4M wall segment with a non-tiling 4K map has a texel density of 10.24 pixels per CM. So can a 8 meter wall segment with a 1K map that tiles. Background geometry does receive lower texel densities, but only because it’ll never be viewed at a distance where this can be perceived. Overall the goal is to maintain a uniform texel density throughout a scene wherever possible, because noticeable variations look terrible.
Also, textures dimensions are not necessarily uniform – dimensions just conform to base2 values. 1024×256 is entirely acceptable.
2k is 2048*1080.
4k is 4096*2160.
2k and 4k are cinema standards.
These terms are completely misused by gamers and gaming articles, since 1920 × 1080 is clearly not 2k, and 3840 × 2160 is clearly not 4k.
The consumer standards are actually called HD (720p), FHD (1080p) and UHD (2160p).
These terms were all well defined a decade ago.
But the average PC gamer in 2024 is a moron and the average gaming site like PCGamer and Polygon is written by morons, so 2k and 4k started being used inappropriately to refer to consumer screens and game resolutions. People tried to stop these morons, by using the term “4k DCI” to emphasize 4k=/=UHD, to little avail, competing with hordes of morons was not feasible, there are too many of them. The idea that they could remember 2 distinct terms to describe 2 different things, was deemed too challenging for their pea-brain to handle, we threw in the towel and let them live in their bubble of ignorance and mathematical inconsistencies.
People are often confronted with this discrepancy when they pick up the first professional camera in their life, and they are shocked that the 4k footage from their $60,000 ARRI that they rented for 2 days, doesn’t fit on their $400 “4k” gaming monitor from Wallmart. This usually results in a question like “why is there something wrong with my aspect ratio”, at which point you know you’re dealing with a morononic Youtuber or someone shooting an Instagram model. This assumes they even notice it, most of these morons just release distorted videos.
2k is 2048 horizontal pixels.
2048×1152 = 2k 16:9
2048×1280 = 2k 16:10
2048×1536 = 2k 4:3
2560×1440 = QuadHD , or QHD
In the same vein, UHD is not 4k.
4k is 4096 horizontal pixels, 3840 is just uHD but sadly it became mainstream under false advertising (though at least, these days, a lot of 4K TV’s do actually support 4096 horizontal pixels, but still will only render 2160 verticals instead of the 2304 necessary for proper 16:9)
Very MINIMALISTIC changes or even lack of changes.
Nice cursed header image, augmented shaniqua and some guy who wants to burn corpo sh#t because of what they did to his queen…
>burn corpo sh¡t
Same energy lol https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/b54b75945cbc6034791973625e38dd4b677664ce460512ecb58ebf9c1a20ed87.jpg
Nice environmental storytelling.
I could see this for 4k players since as a whole it will add up to better look but everyone else these seem pointless, you’re mostly moving during gameplay anyways. Some of the add on cars are incredible and modding is what really saves this game imo, the style and story only lasts so long as interesting but the mods are amazing. Now that it hopefully doesn’t get too many more updates and is stable it’s a great time to mod it.
Keep in mind you’ll need 5-7 frameworks mods first though, once you get those though you can pretty much use all mods available. Cpudrtranneetards also snuck in the old switcheroo no one normal noticed, you play as a trannee whether you choose “man” or “woman” in this game, most have no idea the level of tech and tricks this jumasontrannee satanic cult has and have been conditioned to not see it since tranneehukerwood and before with kabuki, greek theater, globe theater used crossdressers etc old cult. these are transhumans or really infrahumans looking to replace humans, read the first few chapters of Brave New World from the 30s etc
Shut the fck up john
Better textures are not needed, the game needs an extension of the LoD to get rid of the horrible pop up and draw in.
What i do not realize is in fact how you are no longer actually much more wellfavored than you might be right now Youre very intelligent You recognize thus considerably in relation to this topic made me in my view believe it from numerous numerous angles Its like men and women are not fascinated until it is one thing to do with Lady gaga Your own stuffs excellent All the time handle it up
