Modder ‘WestAard’ has just released a must-have HD Texture Pack for Baldur’s Gate 3, which is around 27GB in size. This pack will greatly enhance some of the low-res textures that players could find in this RPG. So, let’s take a closer look at it.
The BG3 Texture Upscale Project is 11GB in zipped form, and once you extract it, it will be around 27GB. To enhance the textures, the modder used AI tools. To be more precise, he upscaled most textures by four times. As such, the new textures retain the art style of the original ones.
WestAard did not go into more details about the textures featured in in this pack. From what I gathered, it covers most of the game’s textures, except for armors and clothes.
You can go ahead and download this HD Texture Pack from this link. At the end of the article, you can also find some comparison screenshots. These will give you a pretty good idea of what you can expect from it. And, as you will see, this HD Texture Pack does bring a noticeable visual improvement.
For the ultimate BG3 modded experience, the modder also suggests using the following packs. By combining them, you will be able to overhaul all of the game’s textures.
Now I know that a lot of PC gamers will be playing Baldur’s Gate 3 via its zoomed-out isometric viewpoint. And yes, with that viewpoint, you may not be able to notice the blurry textures. Still, these packs will do wonders for when you zoom in. Thus, I highly recommend downloading them.
Baldur’s Gate 3 came out in 2023 and took the industry by surprise. Larian has done a terrific job with it. So now, I’m curious to see what the studio’s next game will be. From what we know, it won’t be Baldur’s Gate 4. Still, let’s hope that it will be up to the standards that BG3 set.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

27GBs of bloatware for something so insignificant.
What this game needs is a mod that makes it hard since you can stomp anything in this game even on tactician and honour mode.
It needs new areas and tougher enemies.
They tried to stay faithfull to DnD rules, but they also made too easy to get magical gear, elixirs, potions…
Usually when playing tabletop DnD you dont have acess to all this stuff so easily.
Resting is also too easy, you can fast travel whanever you want and rest, food is also too easy to get in the game. And when you rest, all merchants restock their food, elixir, potions…
merchants also reset their gear each time you level up. so you can just resetting your levels with withers, and then you can steal your money back from withers.
Gouge your eyes out and play it blind, that will be a nice challange.
That'll have to wait. I'm still doing a run which I have s3x with your mother while beating this game. Me and your mother decided to do an4l for the next run so be patient.
Your an expert on an@l mongrel. the whole forum knows that but how will it work with her? will she wear a big strap on and ram your filth hole while you call her uncle to get you off? you sick perv
Yes, how did you know?
Are you 13 years old?
I was 13 the first time I shagged your mom
waiting for the comments of: this detracts from the original art design, this doesn't fit with the original game, the artists did a great job for something…
How about "it weights too much, the game is already over 100 GB already"!
Too many modders don't know how to use AI tools properly, and end up with overly sharpened textures which look unreal. This is the case here.
In-game, especially when things are in motion, the original textures look better.
No thanks the game already runs like crap in ACT 3.
So this isn't needed and would make the game worse for many.
Would i say it's must have? Naeh… And in fact it's less and less necessary for modern games…
this game need a remastered ASAP
You kidding right?
Why? It just came out a year ago.
"Must have?" 27 gigs of textures you wont be looking at and just run over without ever even noticing… "must have"…
