A few days ago, we informed you about a new patch for Mass Effect: Andromeda. However, and even though it was not included in its release notes, it appears that this patch has completely removed the Denuvo anti-tamper tech.
We don’t know whether this was intentional or not. After all, we’ve seen developers rolling out patches without the inclusion of the Denuvo anti-tamper tech and then re-applying it via a new update.
But anyway, right now, the 1.9 version of Mass Effect: Andromeda is not powered by the Denuvo anti-tamper tech (though the game is still protected by ORIGIN).
Mass Effect: Andromeda joins a number of games for which the developers/publishers have removed the Denuvo anti-tamper tech once their games got cracked. These include DOOM, HITMAN, RiME and Homefront: The Revolution.

Game is still crap, not even Denuvo being removed is going to make me buy it.
A game done by Biowares B Team is pointless. We all know where the true focus is. And MSA was not it.
Day one.
Not even gonna pirate it…
of course you’re not gonna pirate this, no point in pirating a game twice
Looks like someone paid 60 $ for a broken game lol….
Yea, but that’s only like 1 hours work for people living outside wage-stagnant America.
dude in most countries you dont make that in a week.
Thanks for that totally irrelevant fact. It should be clear that I’m talking about rich, industrialized nations – you know, the market these games are sold to… Those people wouldn’t have the game to begin with.
Sucks to be them
….really? Our poor are richer than most people in the world.
60 an hour turns out to be around 124,800 a year. If the average income in the US is between 50,000 and 60,000, and the US is the wealthiest nation on earth per percentage of total population….
….in what country is the average person making the equivalent of 124000 a year? You seem to be referring to our minimum wage numbers, so what country has a minimum wage of 60 an hour for flipping hamburgers?
And if there is one, the why the he’ll is the US sharing money the way it does? Why do we subsidize the worlds military? This utopia you know of should be doing it, roughly 4 times over what the US does.
i haven’t played this game yet and i don’t plant to
pirate on this site ??//// never heard of it….
Not even once, dick-cheese.
but what about the updates? That was the argument of some guy on this site when the game was cracked, that the pirates can get the updates and then cpy recracked it…for some reason, no one cares about this game it sucks, and now ea pretty much gave it to them.
ok pirate virgin
The game does suck, or at least I hear the first 10-15 hours is pure suck. I’ve played about 13 hours so far on a purchased copy and so far I haven’t found anything that doesn’t suck lol…
Everything from story and characters to animation and world building is just awful and makes the games excellent combat feel pointless.
What really sucks is they claim all these animation fixes in the patches but really they are only fixing the start of the game aka the first 10 hours which is what you get with ea access. They haven’t fixed a damn thing for anyone who’s gotten past a specific point in the game which is essentially a locked off underground chamber that can only be opened if you buy it…or pirate it I guess.
The reason they removed the DRM is because it was cracked and there is no reason for it now. Perhaps this could lead to easier fan fixes and mods
I played 104 hours and it only sucked for about 15 minutes after the introduction mission. You have an impossible to reach expectation of games if you think Andromeda sucks. Like high enough that you should just quit gaming. Or stop being a lemmings online.
I wish I had pirated it. This game is a total POS. Wasted my money.
You might want to play it longer than 5 minutes. Just saying since most people who are grumpy about the game havent even played it an hour or just like saying it’s junk because it’s cool to troll about this game.
dude…it was broken to begin with….mission progressions….weird conversation angles…..tiresome planet travelling….ur talking to a guy who has gone through me 123 twice….and that black dude from big heroe six….sorry broken game!…
Even top notch facial animations could not save this game :
when you pirate you have nothing to complain about you pedo goat f**ker
this is not my alt btw, his style is very similar to mine but this is the only account i have and when i get banned i’m gone for good
Im here with a couple of friends and reading your comments they tell me that is the cancer of console gaming. That is why they cant buy a console anymore. The community. They said your kind is common crap on servers.
Kiddos like you… with tons of time to waste and useless in pretty much everything on life. As i write we are talking about your parents. Did they…. you know…. touched you?
I just think you are mad cuz you CANT AFFORD PROPER GAMING. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/8ebbcae9b100b1226f96940de0923c73a29c2efff443104cb12d5365e6923a0a.jpg
assuming you’re not autistic and actually do have friends, do your parents allow you to be this rude on the internet?what time is it there? are you allowed to stay awake and use computer?
what kind of 12 years old invites his imaginary friends to his parent’s house to play video games and comment of forums? i tell you which type, autistic ones
LOL… I looked at the game’s characters screenshots and I was HORRIFIED… I thought It would be something better than ME3 but nope… it was HORRENDOUS I TELL YA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
seems liek EA is not sure what tp do as the game after it was cracked was boasted to have the new and improved denuvo version with v1.05 .. which was also cracked in a week or so and now 4 patches later even even complete removal??? seem kinda schizophrenic
Lol, if they give me that game for free.. id still not touch it. Why waste time and space for a crappy game? ;d
I can picture Bioware on their knees, crying, “Please just buy Andromeda! We’ll do anything! See? We’re fixing it!!11!” *smashes fingers randomly on a keyboard*
I wanted to try it , so to pirate it but after everything that happend I will nether buy it or pirate lol garbage
Opinions are like a holes… Everyone’s got one
now that it has been cracked no need to pay for it…lmao.
pc style
Now? the game was cracked 14 days after release. They just gave up on the protection, no one is buying it.
Actually people have bought it. It’s made EA a profit on it. May want to fact check your statements.
The only fact is that the game was a total failure, it failed miserably and no one bought it. sorry BioBot, make better games next time.
That’s what u get by bringing the lame black guy from big hero six as a main character
UWP + Denuvo + Always online = Middle finger to the virgin pirates i hope developers start using that to protect their games from thieves
you + Ur mom + Ur dad = garbage
oh look a virgin kiddo
how sad your life must be pirate
another acount? Really?
every time i see a virgin pirate like you whining i come back to give middle finger to you
Hopefully John will soon ban him for trolling. Again.
that pedo can ban me as much as he want i will come back to take vendetta for you virgin pirates
pedo? really? You will come back again and again? Do you not have a life at all?
if you think this is me, it’s not, this is my only account
oh boy i guess specture or whatever was the shill’s name made another account…
too all users, kindly block this peasant shill
thank you and enjoy your day at DSOgaming
lol pirates are calling other people peasant virgin pirate lmao
i blocked him and the other peasants like walicunt and dafagoat
Haven’t pirated a game in years, not since before college, but ME: A doesn’t remotely look like a game that would tempt me to. Unpolished, half_a**ed crap.
Respawn removed Denuvo from Titanfall 2 some time ago, a superb game that is absolutely worth $60, maybe even more with all the free content we’ve been getting. Take notes, Bioware.
Funny thing is titanfall 2 is not cracked. You would think without denuvo someone would crack origin but cpy, who is only one who has craced ea games till steampunks cracked unravel recently, did not bother with titanfall 2, instead they cracked Andromeda, battlefield 1 and Mirrors edge Catalyst. This reminds me Alone in the Dark that the crackers did not crack it so Atari will make sales out of it.
1. The game still has EA DRM Stub, just like The Sims 4. No group can be bothered cracking it.
2. Many other groups cracked EA games and Origin before CPY…
I would say that’s because Titanfall 2 isn’t worth downloading just because of the single player.
It IS a high quality campaign (much better than BF1’s IMHO) but it’s barely a quarter of the TF2 experience. MP is the meat of the game, especially since it’s being constantly updated.
It might get cracked at some point, but to anyone interested I’d urge them to buy it instead. Definitely worth getting into the MP and Respawn deserve our money unlike a lot of deve these days.
Multiplayer certainly isn’t merely endless deathmatches, there’s a lot more involvement and interaction in TF2’s MP than most FPS MPs out there.
But I get what you mean, primarily MP games aren’t for everyone, and there is a steep learning curve before you start topping tables. In which case, $30 for TF2 seems fair.
I care below 0 for this game but, this news is fking awesome, denuvo has to disappear.
“the 1.9 version of Mass Effect: Andromeda”
LOL 2.7 is where the game will be playable.
“These include DOOM, HITMAN, RiME and Homefront: The Revolution.”
I think you missed Inside
And The Climb, Titanfall 2, 2Dark and Syberia 3.
i think syberia 3 was an accident. They put it back in
They took it twice too,
They may have removed “Denuvo anti-tamper tech” but my PC is thankfully protected by ‘anti-SJW tech’ so the game won’t ever be on my PC.
Walt Disney was openly racist and sexist yet so many people from across the globe could still appreciate his early work and how it influenced animation as a whole. To be fair Disney did get a whole lot better since he passed. It allowed them to focus on broader topics and become more inclusive so…
That guy at Bioware is just an individual, he doesn’t represent every single person working there. Unfortunately he had the role of being the most vocal one of the lot, at least on social media. And I just found out that he left Bioware already so people need to stfu already about Bioware being a racist company now. It’s kinda pathetic seeing how people react on both ends.
When someone continues to spew out a lot of hatred and there’s no signs of them slowing down then just accept the fact that he or she is a troll and move on. Derek Smart trolls the Star Citizen devs and community every single day yet people have matured enough to ignore him. Manveer Heir’s view on white people thankfully doesn’t reflect on the game so much or at all. So chill out.
So you’re a willing apologist for racism both historical and present.
The only person here who needs to “stfu already”, as you so eloquently put it, is self-evidently you.
Good day to you.
I’m no apologist. I despise the way the any racist person thinks, whether you like to believe it or not. Fact of the matter is there’s bound to be MANY people like Manveer in just about every company you praise or have on your approved list. Poland is a country known to hate blacks and Muslims equally. There’s a high probability that a bunch of employees at CD Projekt Red would hate someone like me for my appearance and belief.
The only difference here is that Manveer was willing to risk his own career to speak his mind about how he feels towards a certain race. He wasn’t fired for it during the development of the game. But guess what? The same exact things happen whenever racist white folks attack black people for no good reason. In just about every kind of work place or public spaces you can imagine. Both physically and verbally. I just think what happened in this specific scenario was pretty stupid of him.
I’m not exactly sure in what way that makes me an apologist. Seems like you’re trying to play one of the oldest tricks in the book by presenting yourself as a straw man. I already said I despise racist people of all kinds, where’s the issue in that?
More apologist nonsense from you.
Alright, buddy. All I’m seeing on this post is people crying over some minor issues, so they aren’t buying the game in the result of that. Meanwhile others are just enjoying the game for what it is. Y’know, they’re approaching the whole issue in a more logical manner.
I’m sure that all here personally care for what you’re “seeing”. Many thanks for having informed us all, “buddy”.
“Meanwhile others are just enjoying the game for what it is.”
A mediocre piece of sh*t riddled with bad writing, bad animations & a generic-as-f*ck cover shooter gameplay model?
I have yet to play the game so I can’t just judge it entirely from what I’m seeing. But I do know people like to cherry pick the worst parts about it and try to make it outweight some of the positives. From what I gathered the gameplay is supposed to be a great improvement over the previous installments, but again I can’t say anything about that unless I play the actual game. In the end it all comes down to one’s personal opinion. Just because the majority may feel the same way doesn’t automatically turn it into a fact. At least for me it doesn’t.
Even Gabe Newell said himself that he doesn’t wish ban or remove games from Steam that are generally disliked because he knows that there can still be a minor audience that would appreciate something for what it is. It’s like that saying: “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”. However, it is fair to say that people should expect more because it’s a sequel to a franchise that’s all about great story telling and gameplay, but not so much the animation. So at least one thing remained persistent.
Not that it matters but they have been improving the animation through numerous patches. Just the other day the latest patch became available, but yeah it doesn’t excuse the awful half-arsed attempt that was present since launch. They’ve proven to themselves and everyone else that they can make decent animations but for some reason were unable to show it from the start.
All we can do is hope that studio can learn from its mistakes and apply the knowledge they learned into their future projects.
Actually from what I hear the animation patching is a fluke. They’re just fixing up the first 10 hours worth of gameplay, because that’s what’s available on the EA Access Program, or whatever-the-f*cK it’s called.
They failed at launch because the entire development process was a mess, Polygon did an article on it that has a lot of details, btw. But honestly, even software issues doesn’t really explain how “my face is tired” got past Q&A – assuming they even bothered with it in the first place, that is.
As for the gameplay; from what I hear the vehicle is solid, everything else is subjective. If you like the path Mass Effect started taking with 2 & continued on with 3, I suppose you’d like the refined generic shootyness, sure. If not, if you preferred Mass Effect (OG), then no.
Yeck. If that’s true then this is going to end badly. Unless people don’t notice and being to shift their focus more towards their next title. Either way we’ll find out. Well I never played the third game yet but my most favourite is the first one for a bunch of reasons. And I know the game isn’t perfect, especially on the Xbox 360 where I played it on.
The thing I noticed with the 2nd and 3rd game is how much they dialed down the RPG elements. Andromeda seemed to have brought some of it back but I can’t say for sure. And it also tries to combine some exciting fluid third person combat to it. It all just comes down to AI, level design and things like gameplay opportunities.
But I will say that I very much dislike the way the characters look in the new one, something about them is off-putting for me. I guess from the way they look to how they act. The only character I managed to even like from the many gameplay footages I’ve seen is the father of the main protagonists. Kinda wish we could of just played as him instead and perhaps have his wife or whoever be the optional female lead.
Yeah, ME2 was basically an “RPG” cover shooter, but it sold better, so they tried to find a balance in ME3 with the various playstyle choices menu thing they did, though I guess someone figured it was too much effort to replicate that for Andromeda.
Or they just wanted a more “uniform” experience, I suppose. Developers don’t seem very keen to encourage “alternative” experiences anymore, it seems to me.
Lol’d. Ah, but marketing research says young people only want to play as young people! Or something like that…… ;D
Well I know it’s all pie in the sky at this current moment but there are some games in the distant future which wanna accomplish those sort of tasks, involving the whole alternate experiences thing. Star Citizen wants to have NPCs remembering all kinds of actions, not just dialogue, but even the most subtle things like walking away during mid-convo. Beyond Good & Evil 2 wants to accomplish those kind of things too.
But yeah as of right now there really isn’t all that many games that truly make your choices feel meaningful and unique. Even the games by Telltale suffer from that, and their entire games are all about making choices. As of right now I tend to look more towards the indie scene when it comes to story driven games. Specifically the ones that allow you to make choices and alter them based on your actions.
And well like always I’m in the minority of things lol. I always look up to older figures in a lot of stuff, even though the main character in Mass Effect Andromeda is supposed to be slightly older than me. Me and my friend have a slight issue with how they seem to portray most protagonists in things nowadays to be young just for the sake of trying to attract more people into it. But thankfully it’s not always like that.
Hm, interesting. The ultra-sensitives keep whining about how JRR Tolkien was an “obvious” racist, but Walt Disney designed his creations around the same time as he did, yet nobody’s whining about Walt Disney’s actually provable racism.
What a strange & pathetic world we live in.
To be honest I haven’t really seen anyone complain about JRR Tolkien being a racist. Never really looked it up. But I have stated in the past to you that he could have very well been one given the time period he lived in. It was just the norm back then for any western civilization to act racist towards those of different ethnic backgrounds. It just wasn’t called racism back in those days to my knowledge, just an unfair treatment towards “people of colour”.
Disney was openly racist like I’ve specified. I watched a small documentary about him years ago, he mentioned all kinds of things to his employees. Had certain views towards people who didn’t look like him and even Jewish people. I remember one incident so well which involved a dark skinned indian guy I think, who was only recently employed at the time. The moment Walt noticed him as he walked by through the office he immediately told other employees to fire him because he didn’t like seeing a so called “black man” working there. They kept telling him that he isn’t black but he wasn’t buying it. So not only was he racist but also kinda dim-witted quite frankly. That being said I can still appreciate some of the work he did in the past, minus some the obvious racist ones.
Btw most people around their 20s should at least know about Disney’s past. It’s just because it was so long ago people have moved on already, hence why not many people talk about those issues. And I believe the Tom Hanks movie about Walt himself failed to really show his true colours. Even his great grandniece said the same thing.
Indeed, it was a byproduct of the times, like anti-Semitism, though most people now like to pretend that was just the Germans, when in fact it was a wide-ranging thing across most of Europe, to some degree or another.
Hah!
Saving Mr. Banks? Oh. Haven’t seen that one yet, thanks for reminding me ^^
But yeah, I’m a big fan of classic Disney as well. As for Tolkien’s alleged racism; it’s easy enough to Google…. if you dare 😛
Not sure why people would assume it’s only the Germans who enforced that sort of ideology. But the past is a very complex one. So is the present really – many uncovered topics.
I haven’t seen that movie either but I think it’s on my watchlist. Perhaps I may learn something new about the guy but I’ll be taking everything with a grain of salt. Who knows, maybe his racist and sexist alligations may not be true. But that’s unlikely lol.
I’ll look up about Tolkien at some point. Regardless it wouldn’t change my opinion about how much I loved the LoTR trilogy. Some of the best experiences I had in the cinema watching those when I was little.
Same reason why the BBC & other British Conservative factions try to pretend they didn’t initially support Fascism & Hitler; too many negative connotations attached, since most people don’t see it as “a byproduct of the time”, they just see it as “they were racist” or some such equivalent.
It’s unfortunately one of the byproducts of holding on to the Second War so much in order to constantly glorify the Anglo-Saxons (the US-UK “we saved you!” thing, though it’s predominantly the US feeding the UK side of it, these days). Sadly, since they’re the ones holding on, there’s not much the rest of the world can do but continue to be constantly reminded of it with a steady stream of 3-5 movies a year depicting the most boring, irrelevant, or just flat-out generic stories imaginable, because why be original?
It’s like how the Cult of Churchill lives on even to this day overwhelmingly because the Conservative Americans continue to worship him like he was a living God. But anyway, off-topic.
Eh, Jackson’s adaptations were decent, though they failed to live up to the source material, in my opinion. They were, however, great movies, indeed & one of Hollywood’s best adaptations of any book &/or book series, ever. If only they’d taken a few leafs out of the damn thing, as you can tell they put actual planning, thinking & effort into those movies, unlike The Hobbit.
Damn you went really deep into the whole thing haha! Some of the things are beyond my knowledge. Like I said, it’s all deep rooted, most of the world’s problems are all crafted in such a way by those who have such power. Journalism is really that tool that goes hand-in-hand, it’s the one thing that either divides or brings people closer. Although I never knew what the issue was with BBC, I noticed complaints going towards them, especially these days but I don’t necessarily follow that outlet. I tend to avoid news altogether but when I do tune in I go to the ones which are obviously unbiased and report things fairly and allow the viewers to ultimately think for themselves.
I guess for its time it was truly a groundbreaking movie. The cinematography, real world locations, scripting, acting, special effects, etc. was really nailed down and felt like it was well ahead of its time. I had the books a long time ago but never read them. I really should at some point. But I’m most definitely looking forward to Peter Jackson’s next movie Mortal Engines. It’s based on a really creative book, I highly recommend it. The first official artwork already looks great, but I have high expectations for it 😛
What does that have to do with Mass Effect Andromeda? And if your computer has that tech, how are you able to still use your computer?
A turd is a turd
even if it was on GOG, free. i wouldn’t play it
of course you will not you want everything for free like that pirate @daka54:disqus
omg you still posting get a life.
What are you referring to? Mass Effect Andromeda is not a terd.
Are you begging me to at least pirate this turd, Bioware? Not happening.
The question is will anyone run a series of benchmarks on the version with the DRM and without. The more games that get this DRM removed and have proper benchmarks done the more we will know if the DRM affects performance.
So far I haven’t personally noticed any difference but I’m running a 6 core i7 5820k at 4.8ghz per core with 32gigs of ddr4 running quad channel and a gtx 1080 with a shunt mod and massive overclock.
I’d be really interested to see the results especially for this game.
It doesnt
Well… after 10? Patches and no denuvo is this game worth getting maybe? Plus its like 30 bucks already? What you guys think?
I have a weakness for Sci Fi games so I intend to buy the game and play it anyway but from what I’ve read it’s not worth $30. I plan to wait a while longer and pick it up for $10 on an Origin sale. I have bought 3 AAA games so far on Origin (because Steam doesn’t have them) and all 3 were $10 each on a sale. Just takes a little patience and if the game is so unbearable that it’s not worth finishing then you’re only out $10.
Bioware has removed the Denuvo anti-tamper tech from Mass Effect: Andromeda
SO WHAT?
I just woke up at 6:36am sunday and while esting breakfast, i thought i’d read some comments. 2 secs later name calling started again.. fk dis
Proceeded to pronhub
Dude was no more of d**k in his pot than you were in yours.
I won’t call that shooting sections fine. it’s a basic at best with bullet spongy enemies. hell you can’t even command or control your squad like last games in the series.
Well you can command them they just don’t listen lol.
I’m not saying it’s the best 3rd person shooter either but there is fun to be had. I suppose to could have clarified my statement by saying it’s the best part of the game.
Enemies will always be bullet sponges in a game that’s supposed to be and rpg. Although they did take it a bit far in this one. ME3 had enemy health pretty close to perfect unlike Andromeda BUT it doesn’t feel bad as far as a shooter goes and once leveled up it does get better.
You can only tell them where to go, you can’t control their power or command them to use what power on which target.
You can tell them what power to use, there is a button you hold down if you’re using a controller.
Nope I’m sorry you are right, you can only command them to attack an enemy you can’t control the powers they use. My bad. To be fair I’ve only been awake for like 20 min =P
😀
It gets better! We both win million USD for being civil in a comment thread!
Woo woooo! lol
:)) True.
Ya but…….. who cares?
Still not interested in playing it.
I bought ME3 when It came out… I REGRETTED IT.. I will NOT make the same f’ing mistake again…
