Playstation Showcase 2023

PC was the big winner of the PlayStation Showcase 2023

Yesterday, Sony held a PlayStation Showcase in which it presented a number of games. And, surprisingly enough, the big winner of that show was actually the PC.

Pretty much all of the games that Sony showcased were coming on PC. In fact, most of them will be available on launch day on the PC. The only outlier here is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 which will release first on PS5. However, after the success of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC, it’s certain that Sony will bring it to the PC at a later date.

So, here are all the games that Sony showcased at its event. I’ve also included the platforms for which these games will come out at launch.

  • Fairgame$ – PC and PS5
  • Helldivers 2 – PC and PS5
  • Immortals of Aveum – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
  • Ghostrunner 2 – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
  • Phantom Blade Zero – PC and PS5
  • Sword of the Sea – PC and PS5
  • The Talos Principle 2 – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
  • Neva – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
  • Cat Quest (already released on PC)
  • Foamstars – PS5 and PS4
  • Revenant Hill – PC, PS5 and PS4
  • The Plucky Squire – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
  • Teardown (already released on PC)
  • Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Remake – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
  • Towers of Aghasba – PC and PS5
  • Assassin’s Creed Mirage – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
  • Final Fantasy XVI – PS5 timed-exclusive, coming to PC at a later date
  • Alan Wake 2 – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
  • Granblue Fantasy Relink – PC, PS5 and PS4
  • Street Fighter 6 – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
  • ULTROS – PC, PS5 and PS4
  • Tower of Fantasy (already released on PC)
  • Dragon’s Dogma 2 – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
  • Five Nights at Freddy‘s Help Wanted 2 – PC, PS5
  • PS2VR games
  • MARATHON – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
  • Concord – PC, PS5
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 – PS5 (will most likely come out on PC in the future)

From what we can see, the only true Playstation exclusive is Foamstars. Foamstars is a multiplayer Splatoon-clone from Square Enix that does not look that interesting. I mean, we already have A LOT of multiplayer games on PC. Okay okay, there were also one or two PSVR2 games. However, I don’t really believe that all PS5 owners have a PSVR2 so… yeah… I’m not that excited about PSVR2.

All in all, this was a great show for PC. It was also a missed opportunity for Sony as it didn’t showcase any upcoming games from its first-party studios. Seriously, where was Naughty Dog, Bluepoint, Santa Monica, Bluepoint Games, or Bend Studio? So, for a PlayStation Showcase, this was kind of weak. On the other hand, for us PC gamers, it was a pretty good event. After all, we got to see a lot of games that will come out on our platform. And yes, these games will look and play better on PC.

Let’s see now what Microsoft has to offer. The big “M” will hold a Showcase event on June 11th. And before getting excited, you should temper your expectations. Chances are we won’t see Avowed, Fable, or The Elder Scrolls VI. So yeah, be sure to keep your excitement in check.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. Also let’s not forget that Helldivers is launching on PC the same day as on PS5, which is the first for a Sony published title.

  2. PC will be winner when the games released will be optimized and not “mysteriously” unoptimized with only Nvidia’s DLSS “fixing ” them !

    1. Yeah, actually get shivers for the AMD’s frame generation that will allow to interpolate 3 frames for every real. Add upscaling to that and its a disaster in the making… lazy a*s devs will become even lazier and letting the hw advanced do the work for them.

Can already smell this marketing b$ – Now featuring 120 fps in 8k… (aka 30 fps in 320×200 super upscaled with just 400ms input latency!)

    1. Wait a quarter for the “easy does is coding” beta period is gone and replaced by proper code – About the time the real discounts start to arrive = Better product for far less. By that time the PC version run circles around the console version. Console are usually a pretty darn good value proposition but at a price point normal families can afford and that’s that… don’t leave enough to get to the real high end.

  3. The only “games” in the entirety of the showcase were MGS3, Dragons dogma 2 and Spiderman 2. Rest was filler content.

    1. All MGS games are utter dog sh*t. Dragon dogma is for rytarded weebs and spiderman 2 is a generic open world garbage just like the first one.
The only game worth a damn was ghostrunner 2.

        1. People who like third person games are usually low IQ console gamers.
Console gamers grow up in low IQ/low income households who can’t afford gaming PCs.

          1. Could you drop the IQ talking point right next to your r-tarded opinion? So unaesthetic…

          2. Console gaming was made for poor people, it’s a fact.
Low IQ —> little to no education—> Low paying job —-> cheap hobbies (console gaming in this case)

          3. I’m saying how your parents couldn’t afford a gaming PC when you were a kid.

          4. Hahaha. My parents bought me PC when you were doing business in your shorts. I never had any console, bigboy. Not even now and probably never will. What a funny boy you are.

          5. The amount of times I’ve seen this lie from peasants is staggering. You should get more creative with your lies.
Your i3 family rig that runs candy crush at 25fps doesn’t count as PC gaming.

          6. Keep convincing yourself with your false scenarios & imaginary world of clichés. It’ll help you escape reality. Because its bitter truth that you can’t afford to face.

          7. ” imaginary world of clichés”
            1- I’m now 99 percent sure, you’re exactly what I described
2- I’m willing to bet that you’re British (probably English).

          8. Your parents failed you by passing their low IQ gene to you, and you’re going to pass it to another parasite like yourself.
The cycle of low IQ and low income will never end. Rise above and kill yourself, end the cycle, and spare your children.

          9. If you really cared about IQ and genes you would have stopped posting a long while ago.

          10. It sounds like one of those “what’s inside is more important” excuses that ugly people make to make themselves feel better.
            You do you booboo

          11. Except you are too r&tarded to see i’m criticizing you on the outside, rather than your inside toughts, which must be quite dumb as well.

        2. People who like third person games are usualy low IQ console gamers.
Console gamers grow up in lowIQ/low income households who can’t afford gaming PCs.

      1. MGS3 have much deeper gameplay and meaningful story more than many games today from Sony (except if you just play it straight, killing everybody). But still pretty much agree about GhostRunner 2. What im worried about is konami mandatory storefront that will add micro$ to buy additional camo

  4. I thought the PlayStation Showcase was not very good. Most of the interesting games are 3rd party and they had very little for actual PlayStation 5 owners. I sorta felt bad for people that paid $500 for one.

Even if these games come to pc, none of them will run well until a month or two after they launch.

  5. You act like we’re getting masterpieces. The showcase was mediocre and had zero next-gen games. They can all run on the PS4 just fine, but watch them asking for 4070 to run at 1080p.

  6. If we really really want to be honest, it was a good event for Denuvo.
Unfortunately, most of these PC games will fill the pockets of that evil company until they decide to drop it and by that time, the game is in been there, done that situation for everyone.

  7. More games to buy and put on the backlog! Yay! By now Im treating my heap of not played games as a retirement fun fund to be played later at 24k 2000fps.

  8. Just a couple of quick corrections, John. Street Fighter 6 and Assassin’s Creed Mirage are also coming to PS4 and Xbox One.
