Yesterday, NVIDIA announced the next version of its DLSS tech, DLSS 5. And, as you may have guessed, that announcement did not go well. A lot of people criticized it. But you know what? The best thing that came out of it was its countless memes. So, in this article, I’ve decided to share most of them that I could find.
I could write an article about the pros and cons of DLSS 5. However, I’m just here to have some fun. I don’t really care about the drama. I don’t care if some people think it’s an AI slop. I also don’t care if some think this is the next best thing. I’m here for the ride.
What I will say is that, like the previous DLSS versions, DLSS 5 will be optional. This means that you can play your games without it. If you are not happy with its visual improvements, you can simply skip it. No one is forcing you to play the games with it enabled. So, what’s this whole drama all about?
In just a few hours, we’ve gotten videos about how awful DLSS 5 is. If you truly believe that’s the case, play without it. Wasn’t one of the biggest strengths of the PC its versatility? The fact that you can use mods? Mods can completely change how a game looks. They can “destroy” the original art style. So, why the hell do some of you use nude mods? You perverts. Why do you use HD Texture Packs? No, you should play with low-quality blurry assets. That’s how the devs programmed their games.
The answer to that is simple. Any logical person will say, “Mods are optional”. Yeah, well, DLSS 5 is also optional. DLSS 4 is optional. If you don’t like it, you can use Native Resolutions. So, again? What’s with all this drama? Right. It’s for the clicks.
Now, you could say the same thing about this article. That I’m posting a “memes” article to get more clicks. And, you know what? You are right. You clever girls (that’s a meme in a meme article). DLSS 5 is a hot topic right now. But hey, at least I’m giving you something that will make you laugh. It’s also better than my usual Unreal Engine 5 articles, right? So, praise your lord, John Papadopoulos, you mere insects.
