Grim Dawn, action RPG from the creators of Titan Quest, has sold more than one million copies worldwide

Crate Entertainment announced today that Grim Dawn has now sold over one million copies on PC, plus over 200k copies of the Crucible arena mode DLC. In celebration of this milestone, Crate Entertainment has marked Grim Dawn 50% off through its website until the end of May.

The game is also currently 50% off through Humble Store, during their spring encore sale!

Crate Entertainment’s CEO, Arthur Bruno, said:

“It’s crazy to think that this success story somehow arose from such humble and uncertain beginnings, overcoming so many setbacks and challenges. I repeatedly questioned what I was doing those first three, hard years of development. Looking back, I think the only thing that kept me going on the bad days, was the responsibility I felt to see it through, for the people who had invested time in the project and those who supported us early on through our website. Even with that drive to see it through, no matter my doubts, the later support of thousands more backers on Kickstarter and Early Access, validated what we were doing and gave us a real shot at making the dream a reality.

It was still a long road and lot of sweat and tears, from the 2012 Kickstarter to our 2016 release but I had the great fortune to find amazing teammates who made that journey a lot easier and the game much better than it could have been otherwise. Much thanks must also go to my long-time friends “Rhis,” “Jmack” and Brian Parnell (now working on his own project Praey for the Gods) – without their early help; Grim Dawn may have never got off the ground.”

Since the release of Grim Dawn, the Crate team has grown to 14 developers. Crate Entertainment is now working to finish up the Grim Dawn expansion and has started some other projects as well.

  1. I bought this. It was pretty damn fun but after 6-7 hours I had something like a dozen side quests on my list and the combat was getting pretty repetitive so I just put the game down and never went back.

I just don’t have the time to devote to games like this that I used to.

    1. Its very easy to pirate 99% of the games that release on PC. However i think most know what would happen to PC gaming if everyone did that. So they buy and support the market. There’s also a stigma that is attached to piracy to the point of people keeping very quite about it if they do it. Its not really the cool thing to do, you’re basically seen as a degenerate low life by the pc community.

      1. My OP was a jab at the members of this site that say PC gamers pirate everything. I dont think that myself and i buy the games I play. When i hear other people say PC is a pirate fest all i hear is autistic screeching thus why i added the last part of the post.

        1. Yeah i get your OP… I also get that you’re another douche that uses the term Autistic as an insult to someone. Kind of tired of clueless people using the term wrong. Its cool now to label someone autistic when you dont like what they say or you think they are acting dumb or silly. Kind of hope that BS dies down because all the cool kids wouldnt know what autism was if their lives depended on it.

          1. Ever meet a Autistic person? i doubt any of the people you morons sling that label at are even on the spectrum…

          2. Words only have power if the person who is receiving those words let them have power. Im sick of special little snowflakes who have an entire essay of words that people “shouldnt be allowed to say” which is complete BS. Feminists, snowflakes, offendatrons, etc will put society into a sensorship oblivion that we might never get out of so F off with your Political correct nonsense

          3. You do understand that calling a bunch of people autistic for acting in a way you dislike is stupid right? also calling people snowflakes because they have an issue with it is a cop out.

          4. I worked with this little boy the other day since i work with autistic children. This kid couldnt string two words together. all he does all day is match colors or play with a rubicks cube please explain to me how someone like him could be a moronic part of the gaming community when he could hardly tell someone when he’s hungry? I get that there are stupid people that type silly things on the net. But the term you’re using is wrong and its sad that its caught on with todays younger people.

          5. Its just as bad. i work with both autistic children and run a support group for families dealing with depression of having a child with difficulties. These people call others autistic but the reality is the majority of children that fall on the lower end of the spectrum cant string 2-3 words together let alone troll the internet…

          1. when did i say no one pirates? i said i dont personally, thats all. Trust me i know it happens for various reasons but if a game sold this many copies than the consoletards that say all PC gamers dont buy games and just pirate everything can take this article and shove it up their console playing a55es

  2. Pretty good game, but somehow it feels quite rushed at the end and while i liked the dual class system most classes are not very distinct and most feel the same, hopefully they can fix both things on the expansion. Not a Diablo 2 but not bad either and certainly worth a play.

  3. I bought this when it was almost nothing (the very first day of alpha phase) and so glad I did. Probably the best indie game or one of the bests you can buy.

  4. Grimdawn was good. But kinda really hard game for newcomers. I spent more than 500+ hours and the fatique is ticking.

  5. High quality clicklootsplosion’er, nice effects on the spells. It’s like a fireworks display when you click a mob
