Call of Duty fans, here is something for you today. The first in-game screenshots for the next Call of Duty game have been leaked online. The good news is that you will be able to see what Call of Duty WWII looks like prior to its official reveal. The bad news is that these screenshots are really low-res. Still, I guess this is better than nothing.
These first screenshots were unveiled via the game’s official website. Furthermore, the first details for Call of Duty WWII have also been leaked via a retailer’s promotional material.
According to its description, players will land in normandy on D-Day and battle across through iconic location in history’s most monumental war:
“Call of Duty returns to its roots with Call of Duty: WWII–a breathtaking experience that redefines World War II for a new gaming generation. Land in Normandy on D-Day and battle across Europe through iconic locations in history’s most monumental war. Experience classic Call of Duty combat, the bonds of camaraderie, and the unforgiving nature of war against a global power throwing the world into tyranny.”
Call of Duty WWII will be official unveiled on April 26th, so stay tuned for more!

Looks like a Call of Duty alright. I guess there will be an overly patriotic American Ubersoldier campaign again. Also, no Axis campaign because that would be too bold.

I’d like to play as an Auschwitz guard. They already let you shoot up an airport, so they can’t really claim too controversial at this point.

COD:MW2 literally had a level where you mow down civilians in an airport.
Playable White Death would be pretty cool. Imagine “All ghillied up” without railroading.

Like the upcoming Apocalypse Now Video Game adaptation, I’m looking forward to seeing how well the graphics turn out, hoping that we get a nice, thick, dense foliage jungle to wade through. That, & nighttime sh*t. Apoc Now’s Do Long Bridge is one of my all-time favourite cinematic moments, really 😛

Well personally i like more WW2, probably the one i like most, thing is, it’s also an important and iconic war, vietnam war wasn’t important, and it wasn’t iconic for sht, also what i despise more is the setting, i like much more europeans scenarios.

Actually, I think the US “free money” thing after the Wars is more of a mixed response thing, borderlining a general “humiliating” sentiment, nowadays.
Though, I suppose that also ties into what you think of Churchill, England’s “need” to fight in the First War, the decline & subsequent destruction of the Empire “because” of the First & Second Wars, bla bla bla, bla bla bla, bla bla……

The problem with making a Revolutionary war game is the gunplay. It would be very very slow paced. I’ve actually pitched the idea once or twice only to get it shot down really fast. The response I got was along the lines of “It won’t hold anyone’s attention. History is boring.”

Call of Duty can be anything, but they just wanna stuck in war, nothing new, same $hit different skins… The funny thing, some gamers still thinking this year COD is going to be better and solid (Scripted single player missions and the same idea on multiplayer from the 1st game)

Season 1 was good. Season 2 had literally one moment that was worth watching, & it was all about dudes stroking their shafts in front of 10,000 Stormtroopers, & anywhere between 30-50,000 civilians.
Still, shoddy CGI apart, great f*cking moment.

Plus there’s the whole “American Hero” protagonist angle that would get lost if the single-player campaign had to do a Greek, instead.
Hell, even the Italian-set Sniper Elite 4 had you playing an American working against the Italians, after all, rather than as one of the resistance members, or some such.

CoD REALLY needs a new game engine.. like DESPERATELY!
They stopped using Q3 coding as of Modern Warfare 3, & Infinity Ward subsequently switched to a different major iteration of the IW engine for their next project. Engine development is now handled by IW & Sledgehammer together, whereas Treyarch does their own thing with their branch of the MW3 Engine, actually.

The ENTIRE ‘IW engine’ started it’s life as an optimised customised Quake engine and every game engine used on CoD since has been further improved from that initial ‘IW Engine’.
Making a new game engine isn’t customising and optimising! Making a new game engine is like when a company says ok! LEt’s start fresh and for example DICE creating their Frostbite engine! Ubisoft’s Anvil Engine… Even though it’s not necessary to always make a new game engine for example Naughty Dog stilll use their engine but the core engine itself is sooo highly optimised and theres soo much talent at ND they can create the games that look and play the way they do… WHERE AS with CoD WHICH STILL USES THE DAMN QUAKE ENGINE!!! has been showing it’s age since the release of MW3! so i dont know WHAT you’re talking about.. these are pretty well known facts…

It doesn’t matter if the engines are still based on older coding, Quake 3 or otherwise, as they’re no longer paying licensing fees to id Software for the Quake 3 Engine as of Modern Warfare 3, which means legally speaking, all of id Tech’s proprietary coding is long gone, now.
Whether or not these “new” engines are just customised, heavily modified Quake 3 engines, or if they’re something completely original, I have no idea, but either way, they’re no longer using Quake 3 coding, was my point. Maybe you should dial up the reading comprehension a little, dial down the insults a bit, & you might figure that out next time, instead of making me point out the obvious to you?
