Revival Productions has released its new six-degree-of-freedom shooter, Overload, on Steam Early Access. Developed by the creators of the groundbreaking Descent series, Overload features fast-paced combat action in a fully-3D world.
The initial Early Access release features four Challenge Mode levels, a sample single-player level, 12 explosive weapons, and ten terrifying robot enemies. Updated releases will follow every 2-4 weeks.
The full game will feature a 15-level single-player story mode, with more weapons, robots, and bosses. A multiplayer expansion is expected to be released 4-6 months later and will be provided free to all purchasers of the single-player game.
Enjoy!

Great physics and particle effects. Lighting looks on point, too. But you need a joystick to properly play this kind of game, right? Also the enemies are barely moving. Seems to defeat the point in a flight shooter…
I haven’t tried this game yet, but I played descent 1 and 2 with M+KB and it felt really good to me. I am sure a proper joystick would feel really good as well…
I’m a Kickstarter backer and I can say that this game runs great with mouse + keyboard.
Looks as though it’d be fun when played in VR.
I hope you’re joking. I’m a VR fanatic but this is the last game I’d want to play in VR.
