Killing Floor 2 – First free content pack, Tropical Bash, is now available

Tripwire Interactive today officially released the first, post-launch free content pack dubbed Tropical Bash, to Killing Floor 2. The Tropical Bash Content Pack introduces an all-new island getaway where players will encounter a brand-new type of monstrous Zed, while avoiding the perils of the deadly jungle.

The brand-new Gorefiend Zed, an even more dangerous brother to the Gorefast Zed, brings additional challenges for new and veteran players with its dual blades and powerful attacks. Players will have to dodge and weave the Gorefiend’s attacks through a brand-new map, Zed Landing, which will take them to a tropical lush island.  This island is also home to an active volcano, which may pose a greater danger than the Zeds that lurks in its dark jungles.  The last major addition comes in the form of the Bone Crusher, a devastating makeshift mace and shield for the Berserker perk.

The brand-new Tropical Bash Content Pack for Killing Floor 2 includes the following:

  • New Map – Zed Landing, a lush tropical island with an active volcano and dynamic volcano effects
  • New Weapon – Hammer the point home to Zeds using the Bone Crusher, a devastating makeshift mace and shield for the Berserker perk
  • New Zed – The deadly, dual-bladed Gorefiend adds yet another threat for players to overcome
  • Dual Perk Weapons – Weapons can now belong to more than one perk, greatly increasing the weapon choices available for each perk
  • New Emotes – New emote animations that can be triggered during gameplay. All players receive one for free, with additional emotes gained from unlocking Emote Crates

Have fun!

  1. Been playing KF1 lately, mechanics are just plain better. Plus I hate that the sequel lost the cheeky British humor :(. Dual perk weapons seems like a good step though.

    1. U wot, m8?
      You havn’ a’giggle there, m8?
You know whom your dealin’ with, m8?
      Bangers-And-Mash MIA-5 calls me, m8.
Cause I’ll deck yee right in the gabber, m8!
Your teeth will Brexit from ur face, m8!
I swear on me mum, m8!
      God Save The Queen, M8!

    2. Yeah, the good humor is there, but only in the case of classic characters from KF1. They’re hands down the best ones available in KF2. You could get them for one dollar in Humble Unreal Bundle, along with KF1 and three DLC. It was really worth it.
It’s a big shame they didn’t introduce new characters like that.

    3. The game was consolized. Fanboys disagree, but if you look closely the game is so consolized now. Recoil on weapons itself is the best prove.

        1. that’s the only thing. every other weapon almost has little no to recoil

try m99 or double barrled in first game

          1. Then again, recoil is lower on consoles, right? So devs weren’t in any way constrained by them, as they could adjust some things independently. Seems more like a design choice.

          2. doesnt matter console or pc i get free aimbot as soon as i click ADS on gamepad

    1. If you like horde mode style co-op games then ya. Not as good as the first, but still a pretty good time. It’s on sale this weekend on Steam, so good time to jump in.

    2. I think it is. Now, I’m not a person that necessarily needs tons of content to unlock. So I don’t mind that in Killing Floor 2 you can see and test out every weapon of a given class in just one match. They get progressively more enjoyable, though, because of the abilities you gain each 5 levels. So, for example, you’ll have faster reloading (with completely new animations) or will be able to shoot in real-time when the time slows down (the bullet storm from AA-12, an automatic shotgun, is very satisfying).
Weapons are very enjoyable, as well as the gore system. Personally, I think Doom has nothing on KF2 in this department. In fact, those two factors are mostly what “makes” this game. The gunplay is great thanks to the animations of guns recorded at 200 FPS and melee fighting with directional attacks (if you are moving left, your character will swing the weapon from right to left, etc.) lets you slice your enemies as you wish. The thing is really gory, blood is everywhere and there are many body parts to dismember. You can blow ZEDs’ faces off (so that only the skull is visible), you can disembowel them. There is a cool implementation of NVIDIA FleX in the game, too. It has two levels of detail, one is gibs (intestines flying like spaghetti everywhere), the higher one adds fluids (something like in the FleX demo) – blood and puke, which consist of drop-like 3D simulated particles.
The difficulty has four settings and you’ll most likely get killed if you choose a high one right away. So you’ll always have some challenge, no matter how high is your level. Higher difficulties introduce new variants of enemies, while the old specimens start using new moves. Rather than just have their HP greatly increased, they get faster and more cunning. There’s also more of them and you earn less cash.
Overall, I find Killing Floor 2 a really thrilling and interesting title. There are a bit too few weapons at the moment, I guess, but devs are already working on some new ones.
There are ocasionally free weekends so you can wait for one and see on your own if you like it.
It’s also on sale on Steam right now, you can get it for 18 euro.
I’d take it, it delivers nice refreshment compared to most recent AAA games.

    3. There were mutliple free weekends. There will be another likely within couple months, heck could be even tommorow maybe.
Wait for that, try it out, play it for 5-10 hours. See if you can see yourself enjoying it or you get bored of game quickly.
