It appears that NVIDIA is currently working on a mod for Fallout 4. This mod will be released on September 2nd, will feature NVIDIA’s GameWorks Technology (advanced lighting and shadows) and will offer more than one hour of additional gameplay. Enjoy the trailer after the jump, and stay tuned for more!

Should I grab the popcorn? I’m going to grab the popcorn.
Yep grabbing the popcorn.
dis gun b gud!
Nvidia sure knows how to do marketing!
“More than one hour of gameplay” sounds mind-blowing.
lol ussless tech. mod is new gameplay misson much fun …ect not graphic tunnig
English learn
…
nvidia makes a mod…wait wut?
Novideo vision of gaming. You barely can see anything.
“Offer more than one hour of additional gameplay”
¾ of an hour for a mod download of 3 1?2 GB me thinks
rofl more then 1 hour gameplay
Again? And when it happened for the first time? 🙂
Wasn’t it caused by AMD drivers? How is the game run now after some new driver and patch releases?
Ok. And how do you know that NVIDIA caused that? Are there problems only if Gameworks features are enabled or it doesn’t matter and game doesn’t run good even if they are disabled?
Nvidia gameworks is broken on nvidia cards, figure the rest out
Isn’t broken for me… whether it’s my dual 980’s or my single Pascal Titan X, Gameworks titles run just fine thanks.
Well, it shouldn’t be when you are running top of the line hardware, don’t you think?
thats like the people with sli 1080s that were like “no mans sky runs just fine what are you talking about” so either youre looking for attention or just downright unhelpful.
High end features are meant for high end cards. People who complain about not running things like gameworks on lower tier cards are just wasting time.
Well i’ve got dual 980ti and Nvidia’s Game Works features absolutely kills the frame rate in most games.
As it does for all the gamers I know so I guess your the lucky one then.
How it kills the frame rate? Does it go under 40 or 30? Or you are one of people who needs 60 FPS and everything below is bad?
gameworks feature are more advance and more demanding. of course they will take frame rate hits when being use. this is some people refuse to understand. they want that advance feature being enabled and yet can’t accept it when it takes performance hit.
Yeah I’m one of those people. Otherwise I might as well game on a console.
Well if you don’t have additional graphics features, for me it’s like playing on a console. Even with 60 FPS. And if some advanced features have bigger performance hit, I can accept them. BTW I don’t understand what is wrong in this case. You can still turn them off and run 60 FPS. Everybody have a choice. Better graphics or higher frame rate.
what advance, more demanding graphical feature did not kill FPS?
well your first problem was buying 2 cards, unless the game doesn’t support sli, which nowadays seems like alot of em. although IMO if you can’t double your performance with an extra 980ti its not worth it.
Lol really? Over 90% of my games support sli. You will rarely double your performance with sli though sometimes it gets close.
Sli is certainly worth it when you can game at 4k 60hz on high and above settings.
Thats… new, guess we’ll have to see if it’s good or not
oh boy, a whole hour…
I’m actually cool with this. They don’t really do tech demo’s like they used to do, so a mod can be pretty cool, and the hope would be they’d really be able to put togather something cool.
The 1hr thing isn’t the big deal, I mean hey it’s free and probably going to look good, but for me it would be to see if any of the visual aspects could be extended through out the gameworld similar to current graphics mod. IF gpu companies making mods mean a well optimized facelift to slightly older games then I’m all for it, would like to see more in fact. Also would be cool to see what AMD can cook up too, it’s a better use of their time and money vs hiring booth babes imo
It is good marketing idea, though I really believe HW companies should support but not substitute game developers. I even think they could use money in much better way for their customers.
they did not substitute game developer. but they are showing you what their hardware capable of. the problem with game developer is they usually have no intention to support extra thing beyond what they offered on console. they prefer their game to be experience the same regardless of platform. including that locked 30FPS that PC gamer hate so much. why do you think Bullet’s gpu physic failed to gain traction among game developer despite they have solution that will work on all hardware unlike nvidia gpu PhysX?
About damn time!
Have said it before and say it again – Start making your own games nVidia / AMD for F*CKS sake!
Everyone would be happy, or atleast we can finaly see what the hell our graphics card can really do. I mean it must be in their interest to show off what their cards can really do. Atleast then we would have something nicer to look at besides all those ugly console port huh 😉
Yeah, that’s some real GPU-pushing stuff Nvidia made right there…….
Seeing what they can do makes me giggle sometimes because they hardly do much, just Nvidia tossing out something that demands ten times more power but offers so little in return.
Some people these days confuse that with the games being legit demanding when in reality they aren’t. I remember Crysis back in the day demanded a lot and actually did offer a lot in return in terms of visuals and effects, Fallout 4 offers diddley squat in terms of mind blowing visuals or animations/fx.
hey thats bethesda’s fault, trying to squeze every last dollar outta their old fart engine.
Well that and going with Nvidia Gameworks.
I wish they made a mod that fixed the damn god rays and shadows. Like jesus those two kill the PC for turning them up, turning them down pixilates to a horrible degree that having GR off was the best choice for me and having to use shadowboost for the shadows as well.
It’s called vault 1080 because it’s gonna take a 1080 to run it.
Such whiny babies in here at times.
Waaah i can’t max out every setting.
Waaaah i want to run all the advanced features that are demanding, but they should run on my graphics card with no performance hit.
Nasty horrible Nvidia for providing free extra features we aren’t forced to use
not untrue but when your videocard costs 4 times as much as a console you expect these features to be optimized.
On July 2012 Nvidia released the “A New Dawn” tech demo, it took me 4 years and as many video card generations (670,780,980 and 1070) to run it at 1080p 60+ FPS and it’s not that impressive
So forgive me if I’m not cock–a–hoop at the prospect of a Nvidia coded game some time in the future.
I am not supporting anything with gimpworks.
