Divinity: Original Sin II enters Early Access phase on September 15th

Larian Studios has announced that Divinity: Original Sin II will come to Steam Early Access on September 15th. In order to celebrate this announcement, Larian Studios released a new trailer for Divinity: Original Sin II that can be viewed below.

Divinity: Original Sin II is described as an entirely new experience built upon the next-gen Divinity Engine with up to four-person multiplayer, cooperative and competitive questing, and new combat mechanics including advanced elemental interactions.

As the press release reads:

“In a world where the Gods are dead, you play a wielder of forbidden magic, quarantined in the prison colony of Fort Joy. The Magisters of the Divine Order want to “cure” you of your powers. But, the Order has secrets of its own. Secrets that threaten everyone. If the world remains godless, chaos will rule. It’s time for a new Divinity.

Define your own path with an extensive roleplaying system inspired by tabletop gaming. Create a custom Origin Story for your character, or choose one of the specially-crafted Origins with unique quest-lines penned collaboratively by Larian Studios’ writers and Chris Avellone.

The world and its inhabitants react and adapt to each player’s combination of Origin Story, traits, and deeds, creating an individualized adventure with distinctive interactions and quests, sometimes even forcing players to choose between pursuing their own goals and those of the party.”

Enjoy!

        1. they most likely do have more than enough funds, they just want more money since this early access nonsense worked for them flawlessly last time

          1. If they made it only available to backers, people would complain. They make it early access, people complain. They’re gonna get complainers either way they just decided to get extra money out of it and make it open to anyone willing to pay for it. Considering how well the first game turned out i don’t really have any worries about this.

          1. If only someone had but invented something called an Open &//or Closed Beta period already…….

Otherwise, agreed, it doesn’t hurt (if you don’t intend to launch your game broken….. ;D)

    1. just because the game is not to your liking then it is a crap. to be honest this is not my cup of tea either but during my brief hands on with it i like what they try to do with this game.

  1. First one was one of the best CRPGs i have ever played in recent years, don’t know about the new one but that ACTIVE SKILL bar is just makes me happy.

  2. I yet have to spend a considerable ammount of hour on DoS1. Got it on early acess and didnt quite played it! its dumb, but ya know! haha
