  1. Looking great so far, bloom’s a little strong for my liking though. Hopefully they can deliver.

    1. Little Reshade to tone that down if you like. 🙂 Game is looking great in those screens so far.

  2. Stupid question: If I like Bioshock..that’s means..I will like this to.Right?I played the original version but it was horrible

    1. Did you play Sys Shock 2? Bioshock took heavily from that game (and 1). So yes you should like it??

    2. If i recall as far as their theme is concerned, System Shock is more like Space Odyssey movie while Bioshock is more like the 1984 novel. Bioshock is inspired by System Shock overall though with Ken Levine being heavily involved in System Shock 2, Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite.

if you want something thematically similar to Bioshock then We Happy Few is more like it and it is being developed by some of the Bioshock developers if i am not mistaken.

    3. Well it is alot simplier than system shock 2, it does not have an upgrades. Only some suit functions you pick up. but yeah its like bioshock with multiple ammo types. The original system shock though has alot of differences depending your difficulty, On normal there are more objectives than on easy and you have to dig through the audiologs more. There isnt a objective tab or a objective market and the maps are huge, so it will depend how much they dumb that down. However system shock 2 has a ton of skills it is more of a rpg than a shooter and it has limited ammo, also weapons break.

So long story short this will probably be around deus ex human revolution difficulty/complexity.

  3. Looks great. I never got to play the first game and now its too late. Its too dated. Half Life 1/Unreal 1 are the bare min i can tolerate. Thank god for remaster versions and mods.

    1. it is too dated but sprite shooter with a opengl port are good too, if only blood had a opengl port.

    2. “It’s too dated” is the code phrase for “I’m too shallow”. I just replayed SS1 a few months ago and had a great time with it.

      1. Nah, some games i just cant get into. I still play games from 1980-90. I’m only shallow when it comes to ugly games that didn’t age well. Say whatever you want but Diablo 1/2, Warcraft 2, Super Mario games (most of them) Sonic games, Mortal Kombat 2,Street Fighter 2,Half-life1 and Doom 2 are basically my favorite games of all time

I own like 3 games past 2013. Say whatever you want, but i’m actually a gamer that mostly likes old games. I tried SS1 and 2 and i didnt enjoy how the game feels, plays and even looks. Remaster version will surely fix all of that. Why else would they do it?

  4. Shouldn’t it be called System Shock Remake or Re-imagined. Remastered means just updating the original game to modern standards (resolution, api etc). This is a complete remake of System Shock not a Remaster.

  5. The art style looks good but they should double or triple the texture resolution if possible. Also, everything still looks like it’s made out of plastic.

  6. Why is there this…grid overlay of small dots in every screenshot I see of this game? Is it intentional? I must say that I am really intrigued by this game. I hope it does well and that they remaster the sequel as well.
