Watch_Dogs 2 is coming on November 15th, first official details & screenshots

Ubisoft today announced that WATCH_DOGS 2 will be available worldwide on November 15th. WATCH_DOGS 2 is described as the product of over two years of intensive development by the original creative team behind the Watch Dogs brand.

WATCH_DOGS 2 promises to offer a fictional environment linked to challenges players can relate to, while offering high-quality entertainment as they explore the San Francisco Bay Area with Marcus Holloway.

Players enter a massive and dynamic open world environment set in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is the latest city to adopt ctOS 2.0, an advanced operating system networking the city infrastructure, and in the wrong hands, ctOS 2.0 can be used to invasively control and manipulate everyday citizens.

As the press release reads:

“Players will explore the birthplace of the tech revolution as Marcus Holloway, a brilliant young hacker who has fallen victim to ctOS 2.0’s predictive algorithms and is accused of a crime he did not commit. In Marcus’ quest to shut down ctOS 2.0 for good, hacking is the ultimate weapon, and players can not only hack into the city’s infrastructure but also every person and any connected device they possess to trigger unpredictable chains of events. With the ability to take control of drones, cars, cranes, security robots, and much more at their disposal, players can choose whether to use stealth hacking to complete missions without killing a single enemy or go guns blazing for a more ferocious approach. In this vast open world, players can hack their way through traffic while engaging in dangerous car chases through the winding streets of San Francisco, traverse the rooftops of the vibrant neighborhoods of Oakland, and infiltrate the offices of cutting-edge companies in Silicon Valley.”

Dominic Guay, senior producer at Ubisoft Montreal, said:

“Our creative team is working hard to deliver an outstanding WATCH_DOGS experience. In WATCH_DOGS 2, we’re excited to give players a captivating storyline with engaging characters that offers deeper, more meaningful hacking options, a greater variety of gadgets and weapons, and a brand new seamless multiplayer experience that will appeal to fans of the original WATCH_DOGS as well as players new to the brand.”

    1. What kind of downgrade? I mean look at those pictures. They look way worse than the already downgraded WD1 .

      1. I personally think the 3rd picture is the one that looks the most fake. I’ll end up getting it when its below 30$ though.

    1. What the hell are you talking about? Did you actually see how ugly the game is? It looks significantly worse than Watch Dogs at release.
There’s nothing left to downgrade further.

      1. Reveal Trailer looks nice provided its in-game. But I doubt it is, hence why I said, “I don’t trust what I saw one bit”.

  1. I’m going to comment before watching the trailer, just to check afterwards. SJW agenda: check, leftist propaganda: check, downgrade incoming: check…

    1. Well ill quote far cry 4 “you gotta keep a low profile like a republican in san fransisco”

Also the game is made my canadians.

    2. So… I can’t laugh enough at progressive SJWs who can’t depict a Black American as anything else but a gansta wannabe from the projects. There is no way the game ends up looking as “good” as the bullshots.

I loved the part when the dev guy said they had to start from scratch for a new IP. We know you’re Ubisoft guys. We know you use the same gameplay mechanics over and over across most of your titles.

Problem is that after so many years of PR BS and corporate talk, nobody believes the crap coming out of Ubisoft. You managed to give me Ubisoft fatigue. Nice job mates !

  2. Oh boy! I can’t wait for solid 20fps on SLI GTX 1080s with everything on medium and it looks like GTA IV vanilla. Ubi is a garbage f’ing developer.

    1. I actually kind of liked the first one as well i would give it a 7/10. I got mine free when i bought my 970.

  3. well at least we dont have to worry about downgrade this time,it looks exactly if not a bit worse than the first watch dogs

  4. “hack” “hack” “hack” “hack” “hack”

“the city is alive” “hack into their lives”

    “iconic character”

    never change ubisoft

  5. Everyone is screaming downgrade, meanwhile i think it looks good and its colorful with some new toys.

  6. Why in this day and age are we still forced to play as set characters? I do not want to play a black character in my games and I’m sure vice versa not because of any racist reasons but purely for immersion and the ability to relate to my character.

Surely games have advanced enough by now to give us a choice.

    1. So do you never play any games where you’re an alien race, or an elf, or dwarf?

      Y’know, for IMMERSION.

      1. No actually I don’t. I think your missing the point and chose instead to be facetious.

  7. Can anyone edit the pic with the billboard that says “beautiful” and “lies” to “Ubisoft” and “lies?” that will be a perfect burn for Ubicrap XD

  8. It looks really good, but taking that with a grain of salt.
Hints about the game itself, looks like crafting will be more in depth, also looks like drones are going to play a significant part (building/controlling/ fighting with and against?)
Guessing there will be parkour challenges, also that whole join us thing at the end and other scenes showing the main character always with a group makes me think either they are looking make the game playable in co -op (2,4,more?) or adding some type of persistent online portion faction wars possibly.
The city looks colorful and maybe they will lighten the tone up a bit. Of course we’ll see more significant gameplay at e3, but Ubi tends to come up with a new concept stumble in the initial execution but then tighten it up in the sequel (thinking AC vs AC2, or even Unity vs Syndicate with the leap in generational hw)

  9. Idk if it will look this good, but EVEN if it does.. who knows if the game will be fun to play? WD1 was boring as hell. I rather play GTA 4 than the first Watch Dogs.

  10. It looks like they chose to show the final graphics now, instead of making them too good and downgrading later on.

  11. To earn my after Day 1 purchase (definitely not preordering), Ubiscam would have to first run completely TRUTHFUL advertising with ZERO misleading or deceptive gameplay and overly doctored bullshots then release a fun game represented in that advertising that I would only consider purchasing after hearing a whole lot of word-of-mouth recommendations from regular people I know for certain do not work as know-jack-shit-about tech or games reviewers/journalists/bloggers.

Maybe I am not the target market since I have truth in advertising standards.

  12. Looks like another rushed, broken and unbalanced Ubisoft game in the making. Ubisoft cranks out games faster than the Duggar family cranked out babies.

  13. Oh, E3 is near, make sure to pre-order everything without even seeing it or making sure how it’s work or made by who or how it runs. let the marketing cricle je** begin.

  14. Yeah pretty accurate ubisoft can be summed up, not as good as we hyped it but the sequel will be, but its 2 years after the first game.

  15. Ubisoft can’t do AC Unity type visuals anymore, they already spend 9 months on optimising it for consoles and it still can’t hit 30fps so they just make worse looking games.AC Unity on DX12/Vulkan would be awesome on PC, no draw call issues.

      1. Not sure but the trailers don’t look like the bullsh*t Watch Dogs did. Looks like Ubisoft learned and probably why it doesn’t look that good but we will have to see.

          1. Yeah but at least it’s not like their total bullsh*t E3 Watch Dogs trailer but we will have to see what they actually show at E3 and take it with a pinch of salt as usual.

          2. At this point I would have preferred another fake build that looked insane because at least I could have enjoyed watching, while fully knowing it wouldn’t be in the final game.

          3. I’m more concerned about the gameplay, you know ubisoft gameplay is the same, same across their games, full of unlocking things to do and towers :p

          4. Well we already see that it’s the same again.
Can’t wait to climb radio towers, oh but this time you do it with your little toy rover.

      2. Yeah sure, like that’ll be the case.

Watch_Dogs is (in Ubisoft’s eyes) a Billion-Dollar IP in the making. Like they’d ever screw with that by cutting out the Pre-Windows 10 PC market anytime soon.

  16. And yet you are the only one trying to attack me on a personal level by comparing me to a child. I understand you’ve been living in a fascit leftist society for so long you’re not used to contradicting ideas. Just remember your lack of tolerance for intellectual diversity will be the reason for the strong right turn.

“SJW” and “leftist propaganda” are not catch-all words. They perfectly describe the agressive disconnected people they are meant to describe.

If you are unable to see the political agenda pushed by Ubisoft through its PR, its games or even the left leaning game “journalism” damaging this industry… clearly, you need to take a couple steps back.

When it comes to promoting minorities or women, Ubisoft is no Naughty Dogs. That usually is the issue when you push a political message without any understanding of the whole picture over the story.

  17. thanks god this time you can give back games on steam…With the last watch dogs I spent more tweaking it than playing it
