Bohemia Interactive has announced that Arma 3 is free to play this weekend. This basically means that PC gamers can go ahead, download the game for free – via Steam – and enjoy it until May 16th.
In addition, Bohemia is offering the Arma 3 base game with a 50% discount and the Arma 3 Apex Edition (includes Arma 3 + DLC + Apex) with a 33% discount. Both of these offers will last until May 17th.

Although I hear the DX12 implementation is simply a high level, which may not include multithreading improvements, I’d still like to hear some details regarding this and Arma 3 and/or its new engine its supposed to receive.
Its good that Arma3 is doing great in sells…but it would be even better if there was in console and selling way more!
Bohemia needs to keep that great work although!

Please, don’t start being stupid, TES is nothing like as complex as ARMA 3/ARMA, it has 9 stance positions, that’s just about as many buttons on a controller.

We started to argue if ArmA would be a good fit for consoles or not and now we are arguing something else entirely. :s
Or maybe not. Still the game is more of a sim, it makes heavy use of the keyboard, people who play ArmA are people interested in that kind of experience. Yes, make a contract with any publisher to make it fit for a joystick, make half of the experience people are looking for.
You can dumb any game down to fit consoles yeah, pretty much what AAA does all the time these days.
If I did remember back there, PC gamers laughing at anyone believing that TES would ever be in a console!

Man, i bought it on release day cause all the hype and how addicted i was on DayZ. I can’t even get through the single player, nevermind the multiplayer.
The squad controls in this game were an absolute mess in single player. This is the kind of game you need two monitors for: (1) one with the game; (2) the other with the keybindings on the other screen.
Ah, the game everyone magically forgets when they’re complaining about Cod being for 12 year olds while btiching about bf and its copy and paste UbIsoft level yearly iterations.

not really its all console just as battlefield,battlefront and titanfall all big on consoles.pc has their esports.cs go dota 2 league ect..ect..if the consoles had a mmo like wow on it i wouldnt even own a pc.

And yes, of course I would use ArmA as an example of a more complex experience that usually people look for on the PC platform. Doesn’t mean I have to be a fan of the series to see it. What is the problem with that? I still have my eyes, my hands and I’m still able to try and experience the game by myself.
I’m utter sh!te at ArmA. I find it complex, it’s simulation heavy and it’s out of my league. Yet, I still think it’s a better experience than the overdone, overproduced, over marketed, hand holding, casual, boiled down, gimmicky, run out of the mill, CoD.
You like CoD? Fine. You like ArmA? Fine. You like both or dislike both? Fiiiiiiiiine. Same goes for the platforms they go after.
Now you ask me which one is better? PC & ArmA. Simple as that.
